fifteen

Seonghwa's body tensed up, eyes squeezing shut tighter before fluttering open and blinking against the sun shining across his face. The room was pretty dark, but for the solitary ray of light streaking from the lazily pulled curtains.

The male shifted his hips to seek better comfort, yet every inch of his body was screaming at him. His arms were limp, his legs were in excruciating pain and his chest rose and lowered with stuttered breaths.

His eyes ventured around the unfamiliar space, noting that there wasn't any decor, no personal belongings, and no vibrant colours. It was an awful lot like Yeosang and San's room, actually, though not quite.

"Where...." his voice deceived him, coming out raw and weak. His brows furrowed downwards into a frown, and Seonghwa fought back a scream as he forced his body to sit up against the headboard.

Conveniently, the door slowly creaked open across from the bed he lay upon, in walking someone he was somewhat glad to see. Anyone would've been a blessing, after being left alone with foreign surroundings.

"Yeosang," he croaked, feeling lethargic and slow, as though he hadn't slept enough. "Where....am I?"

The pureblood smiled softly, closing the door behind him to maintain the slight darkness. "The vampire dorms. This is a spare room."

Seonghwa immediately started to internally panic, unable to physically express it without energy. "Why? ......Why am I here?"

"Do you recall?" The younger questioned, cautiously sitting down on the mattress beside him. "You were playing around outside with Wooyoung. Right beside the gates."

The older read his expression, looking for whatever message he was attempting to convey. No, he couldn't really remember. The last thing he did, that came to mind, was having lunch outside in the sun. "I-It was a nice day....."

"Mmm, it was. Fortunately, that was a week ago, and the weather has been dreary ever since-"

"Shhh, Love. There's no point in getting worked up. You have an eternal lifetime ahead of you, after all."

Is he messing with me? Seonghwa wondered, getting a signal that he was being cheated and played with. There was no way he had gone to sleep for a week.....and where the hell was Wooyoung? "Look, you know I'd play your silly games any other day, but I just want to go back to sleep for now. I'm so tired....."

"Of course you would be," Yeosang leaned in closely, playing with the taller's black fluffy hair.

Wait.....black?

"Wh-What the hell is going on?!" He shrieked, yanking at his locks and distinctly remembering them being chocolate brown. "What the hell did you do?!"

"Love, I know this is going to be hard to grasp. Hell, even I'm coming to terms with it.......but you died. Last week, when you were on the road.....you died-"

"Shut the fuck up!" Seonghwa hissed, grabbing at Yeosang's shoulders and shaking them weakly. "You don't know anything! You're just fucking with my mind, aren't you-"

"No, Hwa! You listen!" The ravenette growled, pinning the new vampire to the bed and crawling above him to straddle his waist. "You were hit by a van, last week. Okay? I held you as you fucking died in my arms, and there was only one thing I could do!"

The older couldn't quite comprehend what was being said. Yeosang's red eyes were now present, due to his rising emotional state, and he looked about ready to scream as well. Something told Park Seonghwa that the boy above him wasn't lying, nor was he taking this conversation lightly.

"Then....what did you do?" He whimpered, already being smart enough to put two and two together. The black hair, his sore body, his fatigue.

"I-I bit you. I bit you and gave you my blood so that you wouldn't degrade.....Seonghwa, I'm so sorry. I know you probably hate me right now, but I couldn't watch you die-"

"Yeosang! Did you just turn me into a goddamn vampire!?"

The younger flinched, looking away with closed eyes and psyching himself up. His heart may have pumped cold-like blood, but it was still capable of guilt, pain and shattering. "I wanted what was best for you," he spoke in a small and quiet voice, "If that meant acting against your wishes, then so be it."

Seonghwa stared up at him in angered amazement, completely numb inside while he thought about being a blood sucking monster. It wasn't true, was it? Someone had to tell him that this was all a crap joke. "Yeosang.....I can't believe this...."

"You don't have to...for now, anyway. I'll protect you in any way I can, Love. That's my promise to you. Even if you never learn to trust me -your new partner- know that I live and die by my promises."

I want to turn back time, the mixedblood thought, rolling onto his side to curl up into a ball. Yeosang understood his overwhelming emotions, moving back to give him space. This isn't happening. I'm going to wake up, and Woo will be beside me, I'll have boring classes and things will be the way they were-

"I'll leave you alone for now," the younger murmured from beside the bed, holding a wine glass filled with blood up and pulling his sleeve over his wrist. "I know it seems disgusting and horrible now, but this blood will be like chocolate for you eventually. It's mine, and it'll save you."

"I'm not drinking that...."

"I'm not forcing it," he sighed, placing it down on the bedside locker. "But your bloodlust will come, and it'll be hard and painful. This is here when you want it."

I'll never want your blood.....Seonghwa thought bitterly, letting the male leave without saying goodbye. Without even needing an explanation, it was clear that he was stuck in here. He wouldn't have been able to escape anyway, in his weak state.

Oh how life had taken a turn for the worst....
