Chapter 57

Chapter 57

"Alyona, hurry!" Chia yelled over the noise as we rang over the emergency exit in which one of my members found during the invasion. There were large vehicles parked underground with a control room that opened the large gates to the outside world. The fire behind us was spreading with all the oil usage Mello had implanted as one of the fuels for his base.

My eyes flickered to the car in which Mello's unconscious body was thrown and tied up before walking over to Chia and giving out my orders.

"Chia, go back to the base without me. Interrogate the blonde kid for his name and as a reminder, his fake name is Mello," I glanced over as she gestured to the car then turned to look at me.

"They have satellite trackers, I can't go with you," I shook my head before checking that all my members were shoving themselves into the cars. "Leave me a car, I'll come back alive."

Chia nodded instantly before I started barking out orders to open the gates and go back to the base and pivoting on my heels to run into a similar vehicle, counting the cars as each group left the base. Mello's HQ's started crumbling down as I waited before all my members left and slammed on the brakes, not exactly knowing how in the hell to drive a car.

Though I did get my driver's license when I was 19 in my past life, I wasn't really the type that enjoyed driving cars around the block. I grumbled out strands of curses before the car zoomed out into the open sand, Death Note zipped into my clothes as I twisted the wheel, somehow going forwards and sideways at the same time.

"Freaking-" I cursed again, making the car go to the side even more as I tried controlling the wheel. The engine roared as if accusing my crappy driving skills and busting out a left, making its whole body tilt onto the side and the vehicle flip 360 degrees as I shrieked while my body was tousled around the small space due to not putting my seatbelt on like a good kid.

It was similar to a bouncy ball thrown in a small box, except that box was the car and that ball was made out of human flesh.

"Daaaah!" I squeezed my eyes shut before rolling back and forth between the left seat and right seat in the front row, coming to a skitting stop with my body that launched itself forwards to slam my face into the window when the car made its final hump on the sand.

My head banged onto the ceiling with a shot of pain before my limbs flew over the seat, laying me in an extremely awkward way as I opened my eyes, realizing that my head was bleeding. Inside my mouth, it was dry and bitter.

"Oh fuck it," I spat out, glaring at the car before checking if the Death Note was unharmed. The only thing was that the book was crumpled like a bent board. "It's freaking been over 9 years since I last drove!"

Touching my forehead gingerly before feeling the blood pounding into the back of my head, I sighed and plopped my body comfortably on the seats and stared back at the place I just left. Mello's base had completely disappeared into the sand, seeping it's last support into the whirling yellow wind. The scent of dirt-filled my nostrils as I glanced at the book with me, contemplating what I was supposed to do.

Light or someone would be here no doubt since Near was tracking the book. Most likely it would be Light though since he was the one most possessive over these weapons and had to get to me in order to fabricate his story.

I, on the other hand, had to act like the damsel in distress which I had so much practice over the freaking years that it was getting easy to predict how people would act around me after the incidents. Well, most of them were set up situations so that it would place me in a more favourable position. The only time that I was a real damsel in distress was the incident with Hugo.

Not that I expected Light to save me.

My heart skipped a beat when I thought of the charming smirk he gave me while saying that I could never escape him in this life. Honestly, what he said was true even though I wanted to deny it.

Before I could stop my feelings, Light had already dug his presence into my life to the point where I couldn't imagine life without him. I needed him, and he made me think that he needed me too. Could he be manipulating me still?

No, it was probably true that he needed me, seeing how he saved me from Hugo and the fact that we rolled on the bed for 10 days straight without stopping. Light had forgotten the Death Note completely during those days, obviously due to my seduction techniques from the Mafia.

Now...

I licked my lips before flashing my future plans through my mind. How should I draft up my own story about being kidnapped by Mello?

Mello being captured was all according to my initial plan, which had deteriorated a bit but will not cause any big interruptions with the overall picture of my future. I was planning to make Mello one of my key pawns to destroy the orphanage from its roots and assist Near into capturing Light, but...

My mind flickered to Light's face before I shook my head.

Did I even want to kill Light anymore?

No, I did not.

But did I want to have everyone under my grasp?

Yes.

This was a choice between career and love.

Light would want to kill all the criminals, including anyone who stood in his way.

My goal was to stand at the top where no one could disobey me, which included thousands of criminal activities and experimentation on humans in general.

...Would Light let the Mafia go and make an exception for me to commit crimes?

The latter would be possible, seeing that I could compromise only by experimenting on criminals and people against Kira...

But the Mafia would not be able to escape the clutches of Light.

My fingers grazed over the lily on my wrist.

Anthony-

Even though I didn't love him, I viewed him as a person who was loyal to me.

Chia, Felix, all my members of Castor.

If they just died, it would be too tragic knowing that they had worked under me for a few years, only to die because I chose to be with Light rather than preserving their dreams and ambitions.

Was I able to abandon them for my own safety?

Yes.

But would I abandon my career for love?

No.

Unless I could physically change Light's mentality on my behalf. But that would be imposs-

Wait, that...

My eyes stared hard into the ceiling of the car.

If it was in the anime, Light would never agree.

But if I had them all under control, and how Light was so infatuated with me...

Well, the choice could be delayed until the final scene of Light and Near's battle in the empty warehouse. By that time, I could make my decision to kill or leave him. Either way, Light would not ask me to kill the Mafia before Near's death. Especially after how they gave me the information about Mello's appearance.

Then I should focus on my next steps after I get Mello's real name.

The Death Note would be taken to Light, of course, but-

"I need this Death Note," I whispered hoarsely before flickering my gaze to the book on top of my stomach. Henrik would provide me with the pages if I asked, but because of the limited number of pages, there was always a constant shortage of the pages.

I knew Henrik was working on his reign over in Japan without being too obvious after that recent attempt of kidnapping, from Hugo. Also because of the heart attacks within the Mafia, everyone was using fake names.

Henrik was having a hard time finding the names of the bosses from the other bases to control, and I knew his speed would be slower with Light's surveillance over the underground. Light knew I was part of the mafia, but he didn't know which one exactly.

Other than the underground which Henrik was working on, my mission was to overtake the surface, gathering as many companies and future potential people under my order and control. I couldn't ask for more of the note when Henrik himself was in a bind.

My fingers fluttered to the pages of the book while accidentally smearing some of my blood that was on my fingers. Flipping each page carefully, I mulled over if I should be ripping them when Light or Near had not made it to the car I was in yet.

But if I ripped them and was found out, it would be blatantly obvious that I was trying to steal some of the pages. It was way too risky and too low of a reward. If I would choose, I'd choose to ask for the book openly instead of sneaking like a rat.

I sighed while closing my eyes, slowly drifting from the fatigue that drowned in my mind.

It was a few hours later before I jerked up to a familiar scent under my nose, clutching the person who was carrying me dark in the night with a faint smile. In the far distance, I saw several flashlights and what seemed to be a helicopter in the middle of the desert.

"What took you so long, Light?" I mumbled while burying my face into his neck, rubbing my cheek against him fondly. I felt him chuckle from the accurate pinpoint of his name before his hands shuffled under my legs and held me tighter to his body.

"My plane was hijacked by the second successor's mafia group," Light said as his breath hitched the moment I grazed my tongue over his neck, sucking on it obsessively before biting down and earning a stifled groan from Light.

"Sayu," I felt his hands trembling underneath me as he gritted out my name in the dark, giving him a lick before I stared at the hickey I made with a smug grin. He definitely had a hard-on, even without me looking. Lowering me slightly, he used my body as a cover-up for his lower half.

"Just give me that as a reward for a job well done," I lay my head affectionately on his chest before unzipping my coat to reveal the Death Note. Light's eyes glimmered in the night before we reached the helicopter, Matsuda and the others crowding over us while Light wrapped me up in a blue blanket that Matsuda gave out with concern.

"Sayu! Are you alright?! Where-" Matsuda's eyes trailed behind us before widening in horror at the absence of Soichiro Yagami. I sniffed before bawling out my eyes into my hands. I felt Light lower his own head as tears started streaming down his own face, sniffing up his snot before gritting his teeth.

Damn, I've never seen Light so emotional even in acting!

"I'm so sorry," I repeated endlessly as Mogi's hand fell on Matsuda's trembling shoulders.

"I'm sorry, if it wasn't for me, dad would have-" a cry choked up on my lips before I buried my face into Light's shoulders.

"Chief Yagami..." Matsuda trailed off as he fell hopelessly onto the sand with both his hands supporting his body as he started sobbing, grieving and screaming. Out of the corner of my eyes, Aizawa who used to have an afro and quit because of L also lowered his head, turning his back after his hunched shoulders started to hiccup and down.

Oh, the serious Aizawa is back on board, isn't he?

My eyes wandered to the few members that were left in the task force.

Matsuda, Aizawa, Mogi, and the short-tempered Ide.

Ide was sitting in the driver's seat of the helicopter, shock filling his expression from Matsuda's screams while he drowned down in his seat, staring at Aizawa's quivering body.

Misa was also on the side, looking at Light with worried eyes then slightly narrowing to me when she saw that I was in his arms. Misa's blonde pigtails hopped along with her walk as she batted her eyelashes and placed her arms lovingly around Light's waist. Ryuk slid up behind her, chuckling and waving to me as I returned his greeting with a slight nod.

He cackled, pointing between Light and me.

"Light, don't worry! Misa Misa will never leave you! You don't need to worry about Misa!"

Are...are you serious, Misa? I blinked with stunned amusement into Light's jacket while Ryuk threw back his head, laughing louder before adding a comment about how 'foolish' women were when it came to love.

I felt Light flinch from Misa's contact before hiding the deep scowl in his eyes as he broke out in a dry voice. No, Ryuk, I think foolish is just the definition of Misa, not when all women are in love.

"Misa, please, just...give us some alone time," Light furrowed his forehead before walking forwards and sliding into the backseat of the helicopter where I was still sitting on his lap and leaned back onto the seat, burying his head onto my shoulder as I shifted my blankets, moving it so that we were both wrapped into a bundle.

It took a long time before all members of the Kira task force shuffled themselves onto the vehicle with a sombre atmosphere. Everyone's eyes were moist with red as the helicopter started lifting from the ground, silence filled the air except for Misa's constant glaring in my direction before Mogi placed his hand on Misa's shoulder, forcing her to jolt up with a girly 'eep!'

With a firm shake of his head, Misa glared in my direction for the last time before huffing and turning her head with arms crossed over her chest like a child. Well, Misa was not wrong.

I was her rival in love, except, it wasn't more of a rival, it was more like 'the official lover' role. But maybe because I knew Light so well, I wasn't worried at all if someone would come by and steal him away from my grasp.

Light was too dangerous for anyone to handle except me. A sly smile crawled up my face before I shifted my butt directly onto his tight bulge, earning a dirty look from him before he shakily voiced out to his fellow comrades.

"This is all...because of the Death Note," Light said raspily before burying his face into his hands. "This is all because of Kira."

My eyes flickered to the Death Note beside us before staring at Matsuda in curiosity.

Normally Matsuda would be the first one to stand up and slightly defend the criminal because of his wide view of people, but even this time, Matsuda sat on his seat, sadness turning into a subtle rage as he glared at the windows.

"No, it was because of that Mello successor," I gritted my teeth as everyone in the small space stared at me as if I was out of my mind. I had purposefully left our Near's information due to the fact that I had been away from Japan and the Taskforce for over 2 years. There was no way for me to be informed of Near's appearance in the Task Force.

Light behind me shifted in curiosity before I continued my speech, grinding out each and every one of my words.

"I get that they're trying to catch Kira, and in order to do that, they need the Death Note, I get it." Tears dropped heavily down my eyes as I raised them with unwavering hatred.

"If they just asked to borrow- if they just sat down and talked about their plans with the official Kira Task force-"

I broke down again before clenching my fists. Light's eyes gleamed in amusement once he understood what I was trying to do. I was trying to bring hate to the two successors that did things rashly compared to Light who had worked with L for months, not to mention that L had announced to Light in front of everyone that he wanted Light to become his successor.

"The guy that captured you was also L's successor?!" Matsuda's face jerked towards me as I nodded gravely.

"I heard from him when he was talking to his guard. Apparently, there are two successors after L, Mello and Near. The guy that kidnapped me was named Mello," I paused before meeting everyone's eyes. "They're both 16."

"16!" Ide's voice broke out in an aggressive howl. "How could they place two 16-year-olds in charge of the FBI-"

To be honest, I had no idea how old the two successors were. Only that they were definitely younger than Light.

Ide scowled again, matching Aizawa's frown.

"No wonder the exchange was done so terribly," he said as Matsuda jumped up from his seat before falling back down with a wince.

"Light should be the successor! Even L himself claimed Light as the best candidate!" Matsuda yelled as Mogi beside him gave a slight nod.

"My brother is ultimately the best choice there is," I spoke out before glancing at Light's deep gaze. "He has worked with L longer than any of the successors, not to mention he graduated at the top of his class, is a genius, helped on multiple cases, captured Yotsuba Kira, and is at least, above the age of any of the other successors."

I said, tearing my gaze away from Light.

I had intentionally stated that Light was the one to capture Yotsuba in the middle so that the loophole of L would slip out of the member's minds without even recognizing it.

"Of course, you may think I'm only saying this because I'm Light's sister, but this is what L would have wanted."

Matsuda nodded firmly at my words.

"No, you're right, Sayu! Light Yagami is definitely the best candidate, not to mention we are the official Kira Taskforce! Chief Yagami's death would have been prevented if-" Matsuda swallowed before choking up again. Hiding my smile, I thanked Matsuda for his words, already knowing beforehand that Matsuda would side immediately with my opinion.

Thank goodness I had worked with Matsuda before all the Death Note events took place. I had a member completely on my side no matter what.

"Misa knows Light is the best successor! Light will surpass L without a doubt!" Misa cheered along with Matsuda, only placing her wide-eyed smile on Light. Light smiled causally before shaking his head, murmuring that he couldn't take that big of a title.

"I would like to think that we are all successors of L," Light lowered his head before glancing up with determination. "But no matter what, we must capture Kira to avenge my dad's death."

"I think so too," Aizawa politely nodded his head before clenching his fists. "Light is the official successor no doubt, but whatever comes first, is the capture of Kira so that we can stop any more deaths."

"So sly and successful, huh, girly?" Ryuk's paws were in front of him as he floated closer towards me as Misa pouted, grumbling before stomping her feet onto the board of the helicopter.

The helicopter was now filled with determination and a resolute silence as I turned to flash Light a naughty smile, grinding my butt on his lap again just to tease him. He chuckled at my actions before flickering his eyes towards the front, seeing that all members were focused on the front.

"Pay attention to me, Light," I cupped his face before plopping my lips sweetly on his. "Women don't find it fond when their lover is distracted, you know?"

"Sayu," he puckered his lips before capturing my mouth with his own, mumbling my name as I shifted to face him widening my legs underneath the blankets so that I was directly tempting him with one of the positions in sex. I felt him swallow before breaking our silent kiss, smirking while groping my buttcheeks as I gasped.

The tingle shook up my spine before I teased him, kissing on his neck before he lifted my legs to get better access and grinding his bulge on the obviously wet panties behind my pants. He held back a groan before muffling it with his clamped shut mouth while I used my thumb to rub in between us, breathing heavily with flushed cheeks.

"Light," I whispered sensually and rolled my head to show my bare neck, knowing that Ryuk was watching all the movements that were happening between us. It was surprising that Ryuk hadn't told Misa about the relationship between Light and me, but at the same time, he was probably the one to place suspicion into Misa's mind.

No wonder she was beginning to hesitate and show hostility towards me, who was only a sister to Light in the public's eye. Well, it was definitely Ryuk's style.

"Can I have the Death Note?"

My one question forced Light to narrow his eyes instantly at me, face turning into a frown before opening his mouth, only to be constrained back into his lungs as I humped against him and rolled my hands over his pants. I felt him stiffen underneath me as I leaned closer to him, breathing a hot breath before murmuring out my bedroom voice.

"Oh," I murmured before planting shy kisses on his neck and leaned back, lowering his head, staring up at him so that he could feel the power between us. "Light? You don't want to?"

"What do you-" he bit his lip before shutting his eyes while I continued working on his pants, effectively pulling down his zipper and tugging at his pants which eagerly came off from underneath the blanket. Sweat started damping his hair as he breathed in sharply, stopping my hands that had trailed up and down his base.

"What do you want to do with it?"

I smiled coyly before guiding his hands towards me, rubbing me as I moaned quietly.

"You can feel it, can't you?" I rolled back my head again, keeping track of all the movements of the Kira task force, especially Misa's turned head. Ryuk was eyeing us with a giggly smile, pointing and flying his hands up in the air as if trying to get attention from us.

"I'm wet," I flickered my eyes back at him seductively before biting my lips. I leaned closer to him before whispering. He held back a strained snarl before staring at me coldly. Except his gaze was much more passionate than he wanted it to be.

"Don't worry about anything, Light, intrust it to me, I will bring you only victory."

His eyes twitched with lust before looking between us as I rubbed him off, hands stopping the moment I felt him swell in size. He was quite close to cumming. Smiling coyly, I tilted my head before lowering my gaze then flickering it back to him like a seductress.

"What do you say, brother?"

He was doing quite well for a man who was on the verge of exploding and shoving me down onto the ground of the plane. I could literally feel his desire to ram into me right now if it wasn't for everyone else on the plane.

I had trapped him with no escape unless he agreed.

Growling, he snatched up my wrist before biting down on the lily engraved into my skin, eyes never leaving mine for even a second. I flinched from the blood that he drew out, wincing in silence as I resisted all urges to yank my hand out of his grasp.

"Remember," he rasped out before swallowing my blood from his tongue "You are mine."

I giggled at his possessiveness before leaning in to capture his mouth feverishly. When I was with him, I felt like I could do anything.

"If you die," my eyes flashed dangerously at my own words before plastering a smile. "I will force someone to write my name and accompany you."

His grin widened victoriously with a gleam of satisfaction in his eyes at my words before letting me go as I squeezed my thighs together, kissing him softly as he came into the blankets, panting with jolts before stabilizing his emotions.

"You tested me," he scowled at my beaming face before I leaned into his chest, breathing in his scent.

"Well, I always wanted to see if men were controlled by their lower halves," I murmured before glancing at the unsuspecting group of men and Light's girlfriend. "Seems like I was right."

Chuckling a bit, his hand ruffled my hair before murmuring out a 'well played, little sister,' into my ear. Seeing that dark smile on his face and the mischievous glimmer in his eyes, I already knew what was coming after the helicopter ride.

"I only plead that you go easy on me," shaking my head into a tight laugh. Light smirked before holding me tighter and glancing up at Misa who was pouting her complaints about me to Mogi.

"After everything is done, I will kill her," he threaded his fingers in between mine as I gave him a squeeze of gratitude.

"No one," he paused dangerously before sneering at everyone else but me in the helicopter. "Will stop us anymore."
