It was a pleasant day to be outside. The sun was shining down on an open field, the grass slightly blowing from the light cool breeze. A boy with raven colored hair sat at a picnic table in the middle of the field along with his group of friends and the " pain in the ass's ".

Ash sighed as he felt the wind blow his hair across his face, he watched the others as they cheered Brock, Cilan, Clemont and Serena on.

' Cooking competition, huh? ' Ash mentally complained. ' The only good thing about it is the food. '

" Go Serena! " Hurry it up Clemont! " Bonnie enthusiastically yelled pumping her fist into the air.

The others cheered as well, but Bonnie was no doubt, the loudest of them all. Especially since she had enough insults to shut them the fuck up.

" You've got half an hour left! " Ash miserably groaned.

Ash was in charge of keeping track of time, besides he was to tired to have the energy to cheer them on with the others. He wasn't able to get any sleep for the past 2 days, if ya know what I mean. ( *winks* Jk though, lol )

Two days ago

Ash was currently filling out paperwork for new projects and things like that.

" Hey Ash! " Bonnie yelled as she pushed open the doors to Ash's office, with Serena following right behind her.

" What is it? " He asked, looking up from the sheet of paper he was holding.

" Me and Serena are going shopping and we need you to come with us! " Bonnie happily replied.

" Why do I need to go? " He questioned and went back to finishing up his paperwork.

" We need someone to carry our bags while we look around! " Bonnie explained.

" Why don't you just take Gary and Paul with you? I doubt they have anything to do besides insulting people and getting rejected. " Ash responded.

" We tried looking for them, but couldn't find them anywhere. " Serena replied.

" Figures. " Ash mumbled. " What about all the others? "

" They're helping clean up the mess of Clemont's latest creation. " Bonnie answered.

Ash stayed quite as Serena and Bonnie waited for an answer.

Seeing as they weren't gonna give up, he gave in.

" Fine. " He sighed. " Just give me ten minutes first. "

" Alright! " Serena and Bonnie joyfully yelled, then happily walked out of the room.

Ash tapped a button on his watch and waited as Pikachu appeared in front of him on the desk.

" Pika? " The yellow mouse tilted its head with a questioning look.

" I need you to find Paul and Gary for me. " He ordered.

" Pikachu chu pika pika. " Pikachu spoke, pointing at Ash phone that laid on the desk.

" Bonnie and Serena wanted to go shopping, I doubt they'd answer my calls. " Ash explained. " Feel free to shock the crap out of them if you want. "

A smile formed on Pikachu's face as he nodded his head, accepting the offer. With that Pikachu ran out of the room in search of his targets, while Ash continued on with his paperwork.

Not to long later Ash could hear an explosion along with the sound of things breaking. He spun around in his chair and glanced out the window as he saw a cloud of smoke rising from the garden.

" Looks like Pikachu found them. " Ash said as he got up and went outside towards the garden.

Ash forced Gary and Paul to go with him to assist the two girls as they shopped. They ended up spending most of the day shopping and got back around 8:37 PM.

While the others ate dinner in the dining hall, Ash was making sure that he had finished all the work he needed done before they left on a flight to Kanto the day after tomorrow. He booked a flight and made sure everything was able to go as planned here in Kalos while he was away.

He called Scott and asked if he'd be ok helping out in Kalos, just until they got back. Scott gladly accepted and said he'd be there in no time. Everything was all planned out and ready to go.

Ash stretched his arms up in the air as he leaned backwards in his chair. A ray of sunlight hit his eye as it rose up from beneath the trees. He checked his phone for the time and realized it was 6:42 AM. Not that missing a night's worth of sleep really mattered to him, it was work related after all, so I guess it was somewhat worth it.

" Ash! " Serena yelled as she pushed open the doors to his office, Bonnie skipping right up to the desk.

" Morning you two, what tragedy have you come to bring me today? " Ash somewhat quietly retorted.

" Sorry, I couldn't hear you. What did you say? " Serena asked

" I said you look wonderful this morning. " Ash answered.

" Sure ya did. " Bonnie laughed as she held her hand over her mouth.

Ash glared at her before speaking. " So what did you need? "

" We're gonna go shopping for ingredients for the cook off tomorrow. " Bonnie explained.

" Have fun. " Ash yawned.

" You're coming with us. " Bonnie commanded.

" What about packing? " Ash questioned.

" We already packed our stuff. " Serena informed him.

" Well I haven't. " He complained, resting his head in his hand.

" You can do that later! " Bonnie replied, pulling him out of his chair and out the door.

Once again he didn't have a say in the matter and had to go along with them.

Ash was exhausted by the time he got to his room, the two girls had spent the entire day shopping. For food.

" Ugh, I still have to pack before morning. " He groaned and flopped onto his bed.

He laid there for a bit before filling up his suitcase with a bit of clothes and other things he needed for a couple of nights stay.

Once he had finished he heard his phone ringing, he quickly answered it.

It was his mother calling to see if they were already on there way or what was going on, the was a time difference between all the different regions so he understood why she was calling so late.

His mother, Delia rambled on about how thing were going in pallet town and a bunch of random stuff. Ash tried his best to keep himself awake but he found himself slowly drifting off. Finally he was able to hang up, but only an hour later.

He fell back onto the bed and tried to fall asleep, he was too tired to even change his clothes, he just wanted to sleep.

The ringing of his phone restricted him from doing so.

The whole night consisted of this. His friends, aka the pain in the ass' would call one after the other and ramble on for what seemed forever.

Iris was the last one to call and for the last 20 minutes of the call, Ash was banging his head on the desk he had in his room.

When it had ended he got up and washed the blood off, then tried once more to get some sleep.

He closed his eyes and enjoyed the silence that filled the room. Maybe now he could get some sleep.

...

...

" Hey Ash, time to wake up. " Serena said as she knocked on the door. " Hurry up or we're gonna miss our flight. "

Serena patiently waited outside the door, but quickly jumped back as she heard Ash scream.

" YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME! "

Ash laid his head on the table, hoping to be able to rest his eyes for at least a little while.

After a while he opened his eyes and checked his watch for the remaining time the others had left to cook.

" You've got 15 minutes left! " He yelled.

Assuming that the next time he closed his eyes he'd probably just fall asleep, Ash scanned the surrounding area, looking for something to put his attention on till the time was up.

' Boring, boring, boring. ' He thought as he found that there was nothing really of interest around here. He sat up straight up and the leaned back as far as he could without falling to the ground.

" It's the same as always " Ash complained. " Blinding bright sun, shit ton of Pidgeys and Spearow, the fuckin red sky, a light breeze, noisy people that don't know how to shut the fuck up and let me sleep. " Ash crossed his arms on the table and sighed. " There's absolutely nothing interesting. "

Ash hid his face in his arms while the four that were cooking were trying to hurry and finish before he declared that the time was up.

Ash suddenly sat up. " Wait a minute, the sky isn't supposed to be red. " He discussed with no one specific.

He looked back up to the sky and sure as hell it was a light red and growing somewhat darker by the second. Ash's expression of curiosity and a bit of amazement fell to an annoyed one. " To fucking tired for this shit. " He mumbled and laid his arms back on the table and tried to fall asleep.
