L I B E R T Y   K I N G S

The cold wind made my body tremble and shiver. My phone keeps on ringing as I stare at the screen, gazing thoroughly at the name plastered on it. I blinked twice before returning my gaze to the person in front of me. I lifted the corner of my mouth slightly, giving Froy an awkward smile before speaking. 

"I'll just answer this, you can go inside first." 

My phone keeps on ringing making my inside in highwire. He lowered his head then he nodded and gave me a small smile.

"That seems an important call." sabi ni Froy sa'kin.

Tinanguan ko na lamang siya at nagsimula ng lumakad palayo kung saan mas tahimik kesa sa pinanggalingan namin ni Froy. Huminga muna ako nang malalim bago sagutin ang tawag ni Oliver sa'kin. My hands slightly tremble because of the excitement that I'm feeling. I just remebered that he told me na I need to come home early, may regalo nga pala siya sa'kin. 

As I slide up the accept button of the call, I can also feel my heart beating fast from anticipation of hearing Oliver's voice. God, magkasama naman kami kanina pero bakit parang miss na miss ko na agad siya? I feel like a clingy girlfriend and I don't like it. I'm already in my twenties' not in my teens', i should not act like this but that's Oliver Valez! 

"Hi, there!" I said a little too enthusiastic. 

I close my eyes tightly and bit my inner cheeks from the embarrassment that I'm feeling right now.

"Looks like your having fun." he said, I can hear a little playfulness in his tone. 

"Well, yeah, Olivia is good at hosting a party." I relaxed my body by leaning to the wall behind me.

I heard him hum a little and I bet he's nodding his head, "You can stay there and enjoy. I can give you the gift anytime kiten." he said sweetly to me.

Just look at how I was acting like a teenager a while ago, while on the other hand, he's acting all grown up. I start playing with my feet on the ground, making little circle using the toebox of my Christian Louboutin Contella 100 meash ankle boots.

 "But I want it now," I'm a little pissed off of myself for acting like this. Okay, I don't know why I'm acting like a teenager who got her first boyfriend. 

I heard him chuckled, " do you want me to get you?" he asked carefully.

I looked at my wrist watch— quarter to twelve it says. I want him to get me but I don't want to risk being seen by the Valez's cousins or Olivia. My whole day is doing great and I don't want to ruin it in anyway. 

"I can manage, Oliver." joy bubbled up inside me as I keep thinking of being with Oliver. Jeez, we literally live in the same place but we can't always be together, since our relationship in not open to public.

"I'll meet you on my office, take care." 

We ended the call and I can't help but to suppress a big smile that's trying to get its way to my luscious lips. I start walking to the side lane para maghanap ng aking masasakyan. Mag-te-text na lang ako kay Olivia na uuwi na ako dahil ako'y pagod na, she'll understand me anyway. I was lifting my right hand to stop the cab when surprisingly, someone held my hand and put it down.

My blue eyes is wide open and my mouth is slightly hung from the shock I felt a while ago. I slowly turn to see who the hell surprised me to death and it was Froy. Mahina itong tumawa nang makita ang gulat kong mukha na nakatingin sa kaniya. My eyes darted to our hands that are still together. I saw how the corner slightly went up pero agad n'yang ibinaba ito at tumikhim.

"Going home already?" he asked me with serious eyes.

"Yup," I answered popping the 'p' at the end. 

"I'll get you home." He shifted his body as he waits for my approval.

I sighed, hindi naman siguro masama kung sa kaniya ako magpapahatid diba? Pero nakainom si Froy kanina hindi ba delikado?

"You're not drunk right?" I said jokingly para naman hindi siya ma-offend sa'king concern.

"I'm not drunk. Don't worry, I can still think straight and I have high tolerance in alcohol." he said proudly and smirk at me.

I just look at him doubtfully. He laugh at the way I look at him. I was caught off guard nang ilapit n'ya sa'kin ang gwapo n'yang mukha at ngumiti nang nakakaloko. 

"See? I'm still in my right mind." he said huskily to me making me gulp. Inilayo na nito ang mukha at tinignan ako na parang sinasabi na 'payag kana?'

"Fine," I said and rolled my eyes to him na kaniyang tinawanan lang at hinatak na ako papunta sa parking lot. 

The cold breeze of the night didn't make me shiver from the cold because of Froy's warm hand enveloping mine. I could hear the buzzing sound of the night, the engine of the cars on the highway, the loud laughs of the drunk people scattered around here, the lewd sounds of lip smooching from the corner of the street and the fading up beat sound that came from the bar. 

Nakatingin lang ako sa kamay naming magkatagpo habang naglalakad papunta kung saan naka-park ang kaniyang sasakyan. Don't get me wrong. We just talked a while ago that we'll start anew, perhaps this is what Froy's like when he's being friendly and comfortable to his friends. Ganito rin kasi ang mga naging kaibigan ko sa New York dati kaya normal na sa'kin ang ganito.

The ride was fast and smooth. We are both comfortable, hindi na raw siya babalik sa bar at uuwi na rin. May mahalaga pa raw siyang lunch meeting bukas na kailangan n'yang paghandaan. Hindi na ako nagtaka dahil mukha naman talagang busy ang mga Valez sa kani-kanilang business. Hindi na rin kami nag-alala sa mga kasama namin kanina dahil nandoon naman sila Greg, Pete, at Closs para bantayan ang mga babaeng Valez. 

Huminto ang mamahaling sasakyan ni Froy sa tapat ng gate, nilingon ko siya at nginitian.

"Thank you for the ride." 

"No worries, have a good night, Liberty." 

I wave at him, hinitay ko munang makaalis ang sasakyan n'ya bago tuluyang pumasok sa mansion. Agad naman akong pinagbuksan ng guard at dali-dali kong tinahak ang daan papunta sa office ni Oliver dito sa mansion. Wala along nakitang mga katulong na nagkalat sa loob, malamang n'yan ay nasa maid's quarter na sila at natutulog. 

As I took more steps towards the office door, I can feel my heart beats faster. I knock on the door but no one answer. Nagtaka naman ako kung bakit walang sumasagot sa'king pagkatok. I can clearly remember na rito sa opisina ang usapan naming dalawa. Kumunot ang aking noo nang maalala ang nangyari noon, hindi kaya pinasok na naman kami?

Bigla along kinabahan sa naisip. Nagsimulang tumibok ang puso ng dahil sa kaba at nagsimula na ring manlamig ang aking mga palad. Huminga ako nang malalim bago pinihit ang malamang na doorknob. Parang hinihigit ang aking hininga habang paunti-unti kong binubuksan ang pintuan.

Halos mawalan ako ng hininga nang makarinig ako ng isang malakas na putok. Naugat ang aking mga paa sa sahig dahil sa nakita. Nanginig ang aking labi at naramdaman ko ang pamamasa ng aking mga mata. I put trembling hands on my mouth as my eyes lock on the scenario in front of me. 

Oliver's deep-set of gorgeous black eye are looking at me adoringly while holding a bouquet of red roses. The bouquet look so small and out of place on his large manly arms. His thin lips have a warm smile. I can't help but to cry from happiness. He walk towards me, my blood wake up my whole being, akala ko gising na 'ko kanina, akala ko lang pala. Habang patuloy ang pagtulo ng aking mga luha ay sumilay naman ang isang ngiti sa'king mga labi.

His office look so cute and romantic at the same time. May mga balloon ito na nagkalat sa lapag, may banner ding nakasabit na nagsasabing 'Congratulations, kitten'. Meron ding electric candles sa sahig na nakahugis puso, pati ang mga confetti ay nagkalat din dahil sa pagpapaputok n'ya ng party popper kanina.

Inabot n'ya sa'kin ang hawak-hawak na bouquet of red roses at pinahid ang mga luha sa'king mata. 

"I'm please that you like it." nakangiting sabi ni Oliver sa'kin.

"I love it." I said whole-heartedly while looking at him intently.

He bite his lips, "I don't actually have any idea, what a woman like you in that age likes." He blows his cheeks when it turns red.

I chuckled, "you've done your research well." I told him teasingly.

He just grunt at what I said and hug me tightly. "I'm proud of you." he whispered in my ear making my heart feel the warm that I can only get from him.

I appreciate his effort for making all of this for me. He's a man on his early forties and I'm sure na wala na siya masyadong alam sa mga ganitong bagay. I mean, maybe nagawa n'ya na ito on his teen days but he's an adulty now. Hindi na uso sa kaniya ang ganito. Seeing him trying to do things for me kahit na hindi na s'ya sanay sa mga ganito, makes me fall for him.  

I felt him kiss the side of my head before breaking our hug, "O, that's not the only thing I have for you." 

May kinuha ito sa likod n'ya, probably sa bulsa ng kaniyang pantalon sa likod. I saw a medium size red box with gold lining on its side in front of me. I slowly opened the box and a beautiful pink gold Cartier chain bracelet greeted me. Isinuot ito sa'kin ni Oliver, he run his thumb on the bracelet and on my wrist sending tingling sensation on my body.

Itinaas n'ya ang kaning kamay at inilapit sa kaniyang labi. Oliver planted soft sweet kisses at the top of my hand making my heart hurt in a good feeling. My eyes lits up as a look at Oliver, his lips still on my hand then he suddenly look at me with tenderness on his eyes.

A sweet smile dance on his lips after that. He stand straight in front of me, inilagay n'ya ang iilang strand ng aking buhok sa likod ng aking tainga. Kinuha n'ya ang hawak kong bouquet at inilapag 'yon sa lamesa at iginaya ako sa gita ng heart shapes candles. 

"Dance with me Liberty," inilahad ni Oliver sa'kin ang kamay n'ya at malugod kong tinanggap 'yon.

"I'll dance with you with our hearts rhythm, Oliver."

 He planted a soft kiss on my lips before putting his hands on my small back and hands. Ipinatong ding ni Oliver ang kaniyang baba sa taas ng aking ulo habang ang mukha ko naman ay nasa dibdib n'ya. Rinig na rinig ko ang pagtibok ng kaniyang puso. 

Our heart beat is the most beautiful music to dance to. I'll never get tired of hearing how our hearts talks to each other and how our body dance to it.

Yup, I know, I'm sorry! Alam kong two weeks ago ako nakapag-update ulit. 

I'm getting busier than ever! Gosh, malapit na kasi mid terms namin.
