ACCIDENT

DECEMBER 21, 2015 | 6:32 A.M.

A 22-year-old West Seraph U undergraduate student is dead and two more are injured after a car crash near Seraph City's famed "Cherub Lights", according to police.

Officials identified the dead student as Mei Young, younger sister of Scarlet Prince's Luke Young.

She was a passenger in a 2016 BMW traveling south on 3rd Avenue in Cherub Heights when the car swerved into a lights display on the corner of 3rd and Terrace around 2:20 a.m., cops said.

Young suffered head trauma and paramedics took her to Seraph City West Hospital in critical condition along with her driver and a second passenger, both of whom have been identified as undergraduate students of the same year Lee Huang and Elias Park, respectively. Young died in the hospital.

Huang was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and will stand trial for manslaughter.

ONE YEAR & TEN MONTHS LATER

october 2017

IT BEGAN WITH a visit to his mother.

A sprawling cluster of buildings colored cream and sky blue, the Seraph City South Hospital glowed at night from its multitude of gaping windows. A man strode down the sidewalk and into the hospital's bright fluorescent lobby. He was in his early thirties, with sharp-shoulders and perfect posture, his sleek black hair pulled back into a careful bun.

The silver ring on his middle finger gleamed.

He wove his way through the hall as if he knew them like the back of his hand.

It was only a few minutes later that he wound up at one hospital room lit by a single lamp. From the window, one would see him pull up a chair beside the woman in the bed, gaze upon her confused face with tears in his eyes, and hold her hand until she fell back asleep.

Once she fell asleep, his face would harden into stone, and he would take out his phone to make a call.

When Elias Park arrived at the door of his apartment, ending a call, he froze in his steps.

Waiting for him was none other than Luke Young.

His face was all chiseled edges, smooth skin tinged gold by the dim light of the apartment hallway--a face that had won him the love of the public. He stood patiently, hands tucked into the pockets of a sharp black bomber.

When he turned and met Elias's gaze, his lips pulled into a polite smile. But Elias knew better.

Young's eyes were as dark as a storm. He was angry.
