Chapter 18: Under the Moon ( Part 2 )
A/n: I'm letting you know now that Gustav's little sibling's name, age, and gender is head cannon cause I don't remember any of the franchise's series mentioning the name or gender of his little sibling, and this chapter will stay on Gustav at Berk because, well...you really think I would let Gustav stay on Berk with his neglectful mother and a tribe that seems to just let him stay with said mother?

The camera opens to Gustav as it was near moon down, and the 12 year old was still sitting alone at the forest border, not caring that another dragon raid was happening in the village that had caused Stoick and the search party to return from the forest until, he heard the sounds of footsteps approaching behind him and he glanced back for a second before turning his gaze immediately away when he saw that it was Astrid approaching.
Astrid: You shouldn't be out here, Gustav. It's not safe for a kid-
Gustav: ( with slight annoyance: ) I've been here for hours, if a dragon wanted to kill me, one would've done so. The dragons are busy stealing food or dealing with the angry Vikings swinging weapons at them. Not a little kid missing the only decent person from this tribe that you all cast out to the point he left.
Astrid: Just- Go home, Gustav. You sitting here pouting won't bring Hiccup back.
Gustav scoffed silently in response before he stood up.
Gustav: At least I'm the only one that seems to genuinely miss him. Unlike Stoick or any of you, who only are trying to relieve yourselves from guilt of how you treated him- Oh, wait, my bad, YOU aren't feeling guilty about how you treated him, because you and the rest of your group just see him as a coward.
Astrid: That's not tru-
Gustav: Uh-huh, sure, Miss Pick a side.
Astrid looked at Gustav in surprise as he turned around to look at her.
Gustav: Yeah, I heard what you said to Hiccup during the Nadder Maze, I was secretly watching the whole thing, and you know what... I should've punched you for what you said, because it was completely uncalled for and it wasn't Hiccup's fault for YOU landing on top of him.
Gustav then walked away and began walking back to the village, leaving Astrid stunned and speechless, while the monstrous nightmare in the forest silently chuckled and the camera moved past the young nightmare to show that another pair of eyes was watching from within the forest before the large dragon-like wingless, fur covered creature with rosette spots the pair of eyes belonged to stepped out of the shadows and began walking towards the village from a far distance away of Astrid's location, causing her to not notice it as the creature began heading in the direction of where Gustav was heading.
When Gustav came to the distance of his house, he felt his heart sink when he saw that his house was in flames with the sounds of his baby sister's cries coming inside, and without thinking, he ran inside the flaming home to save his little sister as the ten month old continued crying from inside her crib from her nursery in the second story.
Gustav: ( yells out, between coughs from the smoke: ) Hold on, Gyda! I'm coming!
Gustav continues to make his way through the flames and up the stairs, and as soon as he made it to the nursery, he scooped his baby sister and attempted to escape the burning building, but when he got to the stairs, one of the rafters collapsed and blocked his way, knocking back to the ground with the ten month old child in his arms, and he held her as close as he could while he began calling out for help.
Gustav: HELP, ANYONE! WE'RE IN HERE! MOM! SOMEONE! ANYONE! WE'RE TRAPPED!
The camera then zoomed out to show that by the time Stoick or any of the other adult Vikings or the teens had heard Gustav's pleas and had reached the Larson home, they saw that a young Monstrous nightmare was on the roof, attempting to break through it to get to the two kids inside before he moved aside when the dragon-like creature stepped into the light of the flames to show its appearance to the Vikings, showing that it was about the size of adult Monstrous nightmare as it began using its deer-like antlers to tear off the enflamed roof.

( A/n: This is what the creature looks like....I think a lot of you already know what this " creature " is. )
As soon as the roof was torn off the building the creature reached his head down and picked Gustav and his little sister up with its fangs by the back of Gustav's vest while Gustav held his baby sister close. The creature purred softly at the two children before it growled angrily with a protective glare along with the young monstrous nightmare when Stoick and other vikings began throwing spears at it, only for the spears to bounce of its thick hide, and it quickly placed Gustav and young Gyda down on its back before it roared loudly and protectively at the Vikings while slamming its forelegs down onto the ground, causing it to shake.
The creature then breathed a long stream of bright red fire at the ground in front of Stoick and the other vikings, creating a wall of flames before it sharply turned to the side when someone threw a shield at its face....that someone...the Snotlout, who chuckled nervously when the large dragon-like creature narrowed it's eyes at him, before doing something that shocked everyone there...it spoke, and the creature had a deep, masculine voice that was as strong as his size.
The antlered creature: ( with a raised brow: ) Did you really think a shield to the head would take me down?
Before Snotlout could even think to say something in response while everyone else was in stunned shock, the antlered creature reached his talon towards Snotlout and calmly, flicked him away, causing Snotlout to fly through the air before crashing into a barrel.
The antlered creature then leapt over the large group of Vikings with Gustav and Gyda still on his back, and when landing back on the ground, he used his tail to knock the Vikings down to the ground before he began running in the direction of the ocean with the young monstrous nightmare, and Gustav held onto Gyda with one arm while holding onto the back fur of the dragon-like creature with the other, the adrenaline in Gustav's veins causing him to not being able to hear his mother's cry of horror when she saw Gyda on the back of this dragon-like creature.
The antlered creature: ( to Gustav and Gyda: ) Hold on, cubs, we're going for a ride! And maybe hold your breath!
As soon as the antlered creature made it to a cliff, he jumped off, and both Larson kids quickly held their breath before the three of them hit the water and were under the water for two seconds before the creature floated up to the surface like a crocodile before he began swimming away from the island, and towards the unknown with the two kids on his back and the young monstrous nightmare following them from above, Gustav heard voices saying his and his sister's names, and he thought about telling the creature to turn back to return them to their tribe, but his mind made him think about how his own mother treated him and how everyone on Berk knew about it but seemed to just let it happen, all the Snoggletogs he spent with other families instead of his own, and then his mind made he think about a possibility that caused fear to sink into his heart...he thought about the sliver possiblity of his mother might one day begin treating his baby sister like how she treated him. The young monstrous nightmare then whined slightly with worry when he saw the look on Gustav's face as the four of them moved further and further away from the island.
The antlered creature: They're fine, Scale-y, quit whining.
Gustav: W-Who are you? What are you?
The antlered creature: I go by many names; " Demon ", " Beast ", even " Monster ", but...you can call me " Panther ".
Gustav: Panther? Like the cat?
Panther: Yeah, like the cat. And as to the what I am; I'm just a brute with a soft spot for kids.
Gustav: That's not an answer.
Panther: Well, that's the best answer you're going to get at the moment, kid. Hold tight though, I'll make a pit stop at the nearest island so you two can dry off while I think about what to do with you.
Gyda looked at Panther's fur with curiosity before she did what any normal infant would do...she grabbed a hold of some of it and pulled at it.
Panther: Ah! Oi, small fry, ease up back there! My fur ain't for pullin'.
Gustav held in a nervous chuckle before he gently pried Gyda's hand off the antlered creature's back fur as the two continue to ride on the creature's back as Panther continued swimming through the ocean water as the sun began to rise in the sky.
