It was midnight, and everyone in Dragon Heart was asleep, well, except for one blind girl and two night furies. The camera moved into Hiccup's room in the Great Hall to show Toothless perking his head up as he heard the door to the tunnel into the Eir Sanctuary open and close a few moments later, causing Toothless to quickly become excited when he recognized the scent of another night fury and he quickly began jumping on Hiccup to wake him up.

Hiccup: Ugh, bud, go back to sl-

Hiccup then groaned in pain as he sat up when Toothless accidentally stepped into his stomach before he watched Toothless jump to the door and scratch at it.

Hiccup: ( as he got up from his bed and followed Toothless to the door: ) Geez, bud, what's got you so excited?

Hiccup then opened the door, and he caught a glimpse of a night fury tail leaving the Great Hall before Toothless bolted out and Hiccup began chasing after him, only to accidentally run into someone, causing the both of them to fall. When Hiccup looked up, he realized that he had ran into Nymph when he saw Bullfrog standing in front of him, causing him to quickly get up to his feet and he quickly helped Nymph,who was laying on the ground beside him, back on her feet, not noticing something that was missing due to the hair over her face.

Hiccup: I-I'm so sorry, about that.

Nymph: It's fine, but, uh, can you help me with finding my...

Hiccup then noticed that the black cloth that Nymph always wore over her eyes was laying on the ground.

Hiccup: Oh, y-yeah, again so sorry. L-Let me just...

Hiccup then picked the cloth up and he carefully dusted the dirt off it before he carefully placed it in Nymph's hands, which she calmly tied it back over her eyes then she brushed her hair back into its place.

Nymph: What brings you into staying up two nights in a row?

Hiccup: I-It wasn't my idea, something got Toothless exc-

Hiccup then noticed that, a few feet away from them, was Toothless sniffing at a very confused and shy NightEmerald with worry and concern in the male night fury's eyes while she was trying to hide behind a lantern post.

Hiccup: Is that...

Nymph: NightEmerald? Yes. She and I usually go on walks under the moonlight when she feels like it.

Hiccup: What happened to her...why does she...

Nymph: She lost her wings and became heavily scarred from saving both she and I from a hunter ambush from a hunter that posed as a trader, and back then, I was dealing with grief from... recent losses, and I didn't think that having any warriors to check the man's credentials before going to the island outpost myself. She fought against the hunter's six Deathgrippers long enough for the Sanctuary warriors came and restrained the hunter and his dragons, but...

Hiccup: By then you both lost something...

Toothless made a small growl when he heard how NightEmerald got her scars and lost her wings, before he purred softly at NightEmerald, slowly coaxing her out of hiding as she slowly stepped out of behind the lantern post with her head down.

Nymph: Yes... But we're making due. Care to join us on our walk? I have a feeling that a certain someone isn't going to want to go back to sleep.

Hiccup didn't need to ask who Nymph was referring to as he glanced over his shoulder to see Toothless doing a play bow to NightEmerald, who looked at him with surprise.

Hiccup: ( sarcastically: ) Oh, really? Who may you be talking about, it surely can't be a certain night fury.

Toothless gave Hiccup a slight side glare in response while Nymph chuckled softly in response as she picked up Bullfrog's lead.

Nymph: ( with a kind smile: ) Come on, Mister Sarcasm. Besides, it would be nice to have some human company on these walks for once. ( To NightEmerald: ) Come on, Em, let's continue enjoying the night.

Hiccup smiled slightly before he and Toothless began following Nymph and her two dragons as they began walking around the village streets under the moonlight...

( Meanwhile, Back at Berk )

The camera opens to Gustav watching Stoick lead another search party in the woods from within the Great Hall as someone had left the doors open, he was sitting at a table alone, barely touching his plate of food while the Berk teens were sitting at a table behind him. Astrid now had a bandage on her shoulder.

Astrid: I can't believe I let someone get the jump on me like that. I should've been more aware of my surroundings.

Ruffnut: Why were you going to the arena during a raid anyway?

Astrid: I thought I heard Hiccup's voice along with the voices of a few others.

This caught Gustav's attention, before his curiosity became anger when Snotlout spoke up.

Snotlout: Why is everyone so worried about Hiccup? So what he's gone. Who needs a guy that abandons his tribe out of nowh-

Gustav: ( with venom: ) It's not abandonment when said tribe abandoned him emotionally and gave him no good reason to stick around.

This caused the five teens to turn to Gustav, who kept his head down while picking at his food with his fork, not looking up at them.

Snotlout: ( scoffs ) What do you know? You're just a kid-

Gustav: You're his cousin, yet you treated Hiccup like dirt and made fun of him along with Ruffnut and Tuffnut. Fishlegs stayed silent, did nothing, and followed you lot around like a sheep. And Astrid...Astrid was a jerk to Hiccup, even though it was obvious that he had feelings for her, and she doesn't respect anyone but herself. Long story short, Hiccup was right to leave this pathetic excuse of a tribe because we never treated him like one of us nor did we give him a good reason to stay.

All five teens were stunned by Gustav's words as they had never seen this side of Gustav, and the 12 year old pushed his plate away before he stood up.

Gustav: I'm not hungry anymore.

Gustav then walked out of the Great Hall, and Astrid noticed that Gustav hadn't eaten any of the food on his plate, which caused her to feel a bit worried before she brushed it off as Gustav throwing a tantrum like kids do.

Gustav walked away from the Great Hall as he began walking through the village streets towards the forest, not wanting to go home to deal with his mom telling him to do the heavy housework like she usually does, and when he got to the forest border, he sat down on the ground in front of the forest border, not knowing that the young monstrous nightmare was silently listening from within the forest again.

Gustav: ( under his breath: ) I know that this might not be right to say, but... don't come back, Hiccup, you're better off without this place...
