It was night, and the whole village was gathered around at the Great Hall, having dinner like every night, Hiccup was sitting with Finn, Berry, and Runa, while Val was standing in a secluded corner of the room with Nymph and Bullfrog, Nymph seemingly talking to the polite Borg twin. Hiccup glanced at Val's direction with concern as he had noticed how Val became slightly distant since what happened at the Academy earlier that day.

Hiccup: ( to Finn, Berry, and Runa: ) Is Val okay?

Finn: ( without thinking: ) Yeah, he's just recovering from holding Viol back from giving Ericka a beating.

Berry froze slightly while Runa choked on her drink, causing Finn's eyes to widen when he realized what he said.

Hiccup: Who's Viol?

Finn: Uuhhh, no one. What are we talking about?

Runa: ( after she recovered from choking on her drink: ) Hiccup is going to find out eventually, especially if something triggers Viol or Sass to come up. We might as well as try to give Hiccup a bit more of an warning then duck and cover when Val see blood or someone knocks on something twice.

Berry: Yeah, but Val said to not tell unless absolutely necessary.

Hiccup: Okay, what's going...-

Finn: ( takes a deep breath ) Okay. You know the saying that there's two sides of every person?

Hiccup: Uh, yeah...?

Finn: Well, Val technically has three sides, meaning I technically have three brothers in one.

Hiccup just looked at Finn with confusion in response, and Runa pinched the bridge of her nose.

Runa: ( sighs ) Finn, you can explain it better than that.

Finn: Yeah, but not without risking breaking Val's boundaries, especially right now cause of what the princess of pricks said at the Academy earlier today.

Hiccup and the other Misfits then noticed that one of the Eir Sanctuary Riders went up to Nymph with a scroll in their grasp before whispering something into Nymph's ear, and Nymph gave a simple nod in response, causing the Eir Sanctuary rider to go to Bellatrix and hand her the scroll. Bellatrix opened the scroll and quickly read the message on the scroll before showing it to Ragnar, who gave her a small nod of approval.

Bellatrix: ( calls out to the trainee packs: ) Recruits, get up and get on your dragons. We're going a surprise field trip on your first night. Phantoms, stay behind, only riders who have shown respect gets to go on trips.

In response to hearing this, Finn mockingly stuck his tongue out at Ericka, who glared at him before the Misfits, the Finders, and the Priders got up and went outside with their dragons. Hiccup noticed Nymph placing a comfort hand on Val's shoulder as she said something to the Borg twin before Val gave her a grateful nod and walked away to rejoin Hiccup and the other Misfits outside.

Hiccup: You doing okay, Val?

Val: Yeah, I'm fine, has anyone seen LeafHaw-

Val cut himself when everyone got outside, and found LeafHawk outside...with Stormfly, as the two Nadders were sharing a pile of fish together.

Finn: ( jokingly: ) Oh, look, Val. You're dragon got a girlfriend before you.

Val gave him a slight side glare in response before turning his attention back to LeafHawk.

Val: Come on, LeafHawk, let's go.

LeafHawk whined slightly and he nuzzled his nasal horn against Stormfly's for a few seconds before walking up to Val, who quickly got onto the male Nadder's saddle while the others quickly got onto their dragons and took off into the air, following after Bellatrix and ThunderBash.

Hiccup: So, uh, w-where are we going?

Bellatrix: I'll tell you when we get there. Now, hush up and stay together, cause I'm not turning around to find any of you if one of ya get yourselves lost.

Hiccup and Toothless shared a look before they continued to fly alongside the Misfits as the three rider packs followed Bellatrix and ThunderBash away from the island and in a certain direction.
