Chapter 22: You Can't Trust Everyone
Chapter 22:
I curled up tighter in my bed, trying to warm up. I didn't know where Gavin was, probably showering or something, but I wished he was here to help warm my freezing soul.
Eventually, I heard the door creak open. I pulled my head up from under the covers and watched Gavin sneak into the room, trying to be as quiet as possible. When he turned to me, seeing I was actually awake, he jumped slightly and held his chest gently.
"God, Mi-cool. You scared me," He whispered. I nodded, smirking. I rested my head back down on the pillow, feeling the bed dip as Gavin slipped in.
I instantly wrapped my arms around him, hugging him tightly. Gavin wrapped his arms around me as well, clutching onto me. I breathed in Gavin's scent, realizing almost immediately that it wasn't exactly Gavin's scent.
Gavin smelled of sweat and, if I could be honest, regret. I tried not to dwell to long on it since I didn't want to think of the possibilities of why he smelled that way. I just allowed myself to drift off to sleep.
"Have you been thinking about moving the group to the next place?" Gavin asked me. I was half asleep, with my head propped up on my hand and I immediately blinked open my eyes after Gavin's question.
"I guess I've thought about it. But not enough to actually go ahead and do something," I told him sitting up straighter and rubbing my eyes.
"Well, I've noticed that the days have been getting longer. Much longer. Spring is gonna be here soon," Gavin told me. I nodded and sighed, beginning to think about the future plans for the group.
Eventually, Meg walked over to Gavin and tapped him on the shoulder. I didn't pay much attention to her until I noticed a pretty suggestive look she was giving Gavin.
I pretended to not be paying any attention. I watched Gavin turn his head my way for a moment, then grab Meg's arm and drag her away.
What are they up to?
I got up and followed them, being as silent as possible. I followed them to one of the lesser used hallways and hid around the corner, listening on their conversation.
"Take of your pants, now," Meg's voice said.
"Excuse me?" Gavin said.
"You heard me. Give me another round," Meg said, voice dripping with seduction.
"No way, Meg! We had a deal. One night a week, that's it," Gavin growled.
"Yeah. However, don't forget, I also know your little secret," Meg said.
"Meg, no. This isn't how deals work," Gavin growled.
"Gavin, give me what I want or I'm telling," Meg growled at him.
"No, Meg. You're acting like a spoiled little brat. We had a deal. We shook on it. You're not getting anything else until next week. Deal with it," Gavin told her, his voice lowering.
"What? Did Michael tire you out? Is that it? Oh wait, no it isn't. Cause you're a bottom bitch, aren't you?" Meg insulted. I ground my teeth silently.
"Meg, enough," Gavin growled.
"What? Are you trying to act all noble because you know if you say the truth out loud you're gonna get in trouble? You know I'm right, admit it!" Meg continued.
"I said, enough!" Gavin yelled.
That defiantly shut Meg up. Even I stood there, shocked that Gavin raised his voice in such a matter.
"If I do this now, you don't bother asking me to do it next week, you hear? Don't even bother giving me a glance. I already betrayed Michael once, this is just gonna make it worse," Gavin said lowly. I bite my tongue harshly as to not say anything.
"Okay, Gavin," Was all Meg said.
Almost immediately after I heard someone get pushed against the wall. I immediately ran from my hiding place, tired of hearing anymore.
Gavin was cheating on me.
I watched Gavin slip into bed, instantly curling up against my back. I shuffled away a little so I wasn't touching him. That only resulted in him pressing back up against me. I sighed in frustration, moving away a little more again.
"Michael, if you move away anymore you're gonna be on the floor," Gavin told me, sitting up. I blinked open my eyes, seeing the floor in my sight.
"Yeah, I know," I mumbled.
"What's wrong?" Gavin asked me.
"I just don't want you right next to me, okay," I growled. Gavin gave me a strange look but nodded anyway, curling up on his own side.
I did as well, trying to drift off into sleep. However as I tried to do so, thoughts of the things Meg and Gavin did came over me. I bit my tongue roughly, trying to get the thoughts to stop. However, that only made the thoughts worse.
I heard Gavin's quiet snores as I realized he was asleep. I tasted the metallic taste of blood and I felt the thick liquid begin to drip from my mouth. I wiped it away, watching my hand stain red.
Slowly, I felt the familiar feelings of rage settle in my mind. I clenched my teeth and made fists, squeezing tightly.
Suddenly, an idea settled itself in my mind.
I grinned manically and slipped out of bed. I sifted through my backpack and pulled out exactly what I was looking for.
A sharp, metallic, silver, glittering knife.
I smirked, feeling almost like a psychopath. My eyes rested on Gavin's sleeping form. His mouth gaped open slightly and his eyes were heavily closed. It would be so easy. A quick slit and run.
I gripped the knife tighter, walking closer to Gavin. The floor creaked under my weight and Gavin shifted slightly. He stretched and moaned out a little, beginning to wake up.
My window of opportunity was quickly closing. I dashed forward and pressed the knife against Gavin's throat.
Gavin awoke almost instantly.
"Mi-cool?" He whispered.
I smirked evilly and began to sweep the knife away, cutting open his neck.
However Gavin reached under his pillow and grabbed a knife, stabbing me in the side.
I cried out in pain, immediately dropping the knife I was holding. Gavin jumped up, touching his neck gently at the part I was able to cut.
As if like a switch, I was wondering what the fuck I was just doing. I was going to murder Gavin! What the fuck was wrong with me?!
As I became aware of what was happening, I cried out again, almost screaming. Gavin eyes widened and he immediately bent down next to me, grabbing the knife that was still lodged in my side. He began trying to pull it out and I screamed at him to stop, feeling more pain jolt throughout my body as he did so.
Blood began to well up around the wound soaking through my shirt and dripping onto the floor. I felt myself beginning to become dizzy as I slowly bleed to death.
Gavin dashed out of the room, probably running to get Barbara and Dr. Weston. Once he left, I felt my body give up and I fell back, crying out in pain. My breathing picked up and I felt my heart beating faster and faster.
Suddenly, I felt tired. So tired. My eyes began feeling heavy and I closed my them gently. I felt my breathing begin to slow and my adrenaline rush come to an end, making the pain ten times worse.
I slowly gave up and let myself drift into unconsciousness.
