Chapter 14: Brothers

Chapter 14:

I stared at my brother before a smile broke out on my face and I wrapped my arms around him. He did the same and I began sobbing into his shoulder.
My brother had actually found me.
"How... Where... What?" I breathed into his shoulder. He grabbed a lock of my hair and hushed me.
"I'll explain everything in a moment. Just let me hold my brother," He breathed into my ear.
So, I complied. I hugged him back just as tight until I heard footsteps run up behind me. I figured Geoff and Jack were there so I let go of my brother enough to see them.
"Who the hell is this? Your doppelgänger?" Geoff asked. I smirked at that and released George enough for him to see Geoff and Jack.
"George, this is Geoff and Jack. Geoff and Jack, this is George," I introduced them. Geoff and Jack were quick to shake his hand and smile at him.
I let out a silent sigh of relief at the acceptance they were expressing. I was worried they might have not taken nicely to him randomly showing up.
"You should take him to, Michael. He has the final say, you know," Jack reminded me. I nodded and beckoned George to follow me.
"You can cope without me?" I asked silently.
"I'm sure we'll be fine. Not like you do much anyway," Geoff joked. I smiled slightly when they laughed and resumed their posts.
"Who's Michael?" He asked me as we were walking to the house.
"Remember those videos I used to watch? Of that guy screaming at a game?" I asked him.
"Yeah. And I had to go to your room to tell you to turn it down," George giggled.
"Yeah. Well, he rescued me from a horde of walkers and brought me back to his group. He kinda stepped up as leader after the former leaders stepped down," I told him.
George just nodded and we were silent as I led him into the house.
I crept up the stairs, careful to be silent for the others sleeping around the living room. George did the same and followed me carefully up the stairs. I walked down the hallway, still being quiet and gently opened Michael's door.
I peered inside to see him sleeping. He was snoring, which I found adorable in every way. George poked my shoulder when he noticed I wasn't proceeding forward and I silently crept into Michael's room.
"Michael, wake up," I whispered gently.
In a flash, Michael sat up and pointed a gun at my head. I smirked and put my hand gently over his to show him it was me.
"Shit, Gav. Don't do that," Michael groaned as he sat up a little straighter and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. I handed him his glasses and he pushed them onto his nose and looked between George and I.
"Um... Are you actually Gav or?" Michael started. I giggled slightly and kissed his cheek as I sat down next to him. My brother gave me a confused look but still stood there like a rock.
"Michael, this is my brother George. George, this Michael, our leader. And... My boyfriend," I muttered.
George smirked a bit and shook his head.
"You were being serious," He mumbled under his breath, but he smiled at me and nodded, telling me he understood.
"You want him to stay?" Michael asked me.
"Yeah. He has some-," I started but Michael waved his hand at me.
"Don't even start. If he's your brother, he can stay. Period," Michael smirked and grabbed my hand.
I raised my eyebrows at his quickness to welcome him into the group. Michael was usually so tentative on letting people stay but he's just letting him stay without either of us knowing his story.
His story...
"George, how the hell did you find me?" I asked him.
"Long story. You probably don't know this but the apocalypse started in England and spread to the rest of the world. I came home one day and found a note from mum telling me she fled with dad. She told me to get the last plane to Austin and find you. You know to protect you and stuff. So, I did, and some pretty shitty things happened and I ended up getting taken in by another group. I stayed with them for a while and helped protect the group. We started following some other group that the leaders refused to tell us about. I heard someone shot our leader in the knee. He nearly bled out but they managed to save him. He decided to round up a bunch of people to follow the other group, which I was included in. During a raid, I kinda escaped and followed some tracks I found and well, I ended up here," George explained. I listened to his story with great interest and when I looked at Michael, I saw him with a worried look on his face.
"Michael? You alright," I asked him.
"Um, George, I hate to kick you out but I need to speak to Gavin in private," Michael told George. George smiled and nodded, thanked Michael for allowing him to stay, and left.
"What's going on?" I asked Michael.
"It's my fault," Was all he said.
"What was? Michael, what's wrong?" I asked him. Michael shook his head and got up, stumbling about the dark room.
"Oh my god... It's my fault," He continued to mumble.
I let him have his little tantrum but I couldn't help but be worried for him. He was blaming himself for something that probably wasn't even his fault. He was worrying about something he shouldn't be.
"Michael, calm down. What's going on," I tried. Michael shook his head and finally locked eyes with me.
"I want to be alone," He said. I cocked my head at him and slowly started going closer to him.
"Michael, what the hell has you all worked up," I breathed but Michael stepped back.
"Please, go," He all but begged me.
I slowly stepped away and gave him one last look before stepping out of the room.
I walked back outside to see my brother standing awkwardly near Geoff and Jack. He made small talk with them until I rested my hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, Gav," He purred to me. I smiled and nodded, leading him away from Geoff and Jack.
We sat in a tree by the pond, watching the moon rise higher into the sky. I couldn't help but smile at the thought that my brother was sitting next to me. My twin.
"How have you been?" George asked me.
"As good as I could be, I guess," I whispered. George nodded and looked up.
"I can't believe mum and dad just abandoned me like that, you know? Like, they were convinced you were dead... Or turned so you'd think they'd keep their other son close, right?" George asked.
"Yeah... So, mum and dad thought I was dead? That's it? Why?" I asked him. George blushed and looked down, rubbing his wrist like he always did when he got nervous.
"Gavin, let's admit, you're not exactly the survival junkie out of the two of us," George laughed.
"Well, neither are you," I muttered, nudging him gently.
"And your point?" George smirked.
I shook my head and leaned against my brother, feeling him wrap an arm around my shoulder. I sighed in content at the feeling of my brother next to me again.
He's the last of my family. He's all I have left of England. If I lost him, I lost myself.

~ Flashback ~

"What if everything went to rubbish?" George asked me.
"What do you mean?" I asked, looking at him.
"What if like, the world ended? But, like, there was still survivors, like in the movies," George asked me.
"I don't know. I'm not physic," I muttered.
"Would we be together?" He asked me.
I stared at him for a moment, wondering what he was talking about.
"I... Guess? I don't know what your talking about," I told him.
"What if we weren't. What if I lost you? What would I do?" George asked me. I was surprised to actually see tears forming in his eyes. George was so closed off with his emotions.
"George, I'm sure we'd find each other if that were to happen. We're brothers. Twin brothers. We're as close as they get," I told him. George smiled and nodded.
"Good. Cause even if I hate your cockiness, I still love you enough to protect you stupid arse," George giggled.

~ End of Flashback ~

I breath out a sigh of relief that I had kept my promise with him. If I never got to say good bye to him, I would've been pretty broken.
George chuckled at me and nudged my shoulder, bringing me back to reality.
"Twins for life," George breathed.
"Twins for life," I whispered back.

WHOA EXACTLY 1500 WORDS!! SKILLS!!
Also, holy shit, I suck. I don't update forever and I give you this piece of shit. Oops.
Hehe, thanks for reading! I really hope you enjoyed. Also, I don't know if any of you have noticed, but I put Gavin's brother, George, in a lot of my fanfictions because, like, so few people actually add him in the story. Like, let's be honest, who out there actually knew Gavin had a brother until they watched that one SloMoGuys video? I didn't. In fact I forgot until I rewatched that video.
My point is that George doesn't really get any light shined on him and I think he deserves it. Also, I realize Gavin and him probably aren't twins, but they look so much alike that I couldn't help but make them twins.
Okay, this AN has gone on entirely too long. Like who actually reads this shit.
Anyway, thanks for reading. Please leave some feedback telling me what you think. It'll be greatly appreciated.
