John was standing at the stove, making lunch as Christine was tending to the gardens, he was watching her move around and seeing her enjoying what the late afternoon sky had to offer.

He could not quit staring at her, she was his everything as she looked up from the garden she was tending to see him staring. She did her shy smile like she did the first time they met and to him, she was still beautiful and everything he ever wanted.

She motioned for him to join her as he walked out onto the patio as she held out her hand for him to hold as he walked to her and they walked around the garden together.

"It's so peaceful out here, almost the same as the day I bought it and surprised you with it." He said.

"I didn't know it at the time but I was expecting Henry. It seems so long ago and the years have flew by. We should still have three little babies, now they have lives of their own." She said as they sat on the porch swing together John and Mick built when Henry was nine, Olivia was five and Christine was pregnant with Emily.

"I know, it seems crazy to me too. I should still be checking for monsters under their beds and reading stories to our children, but we have two out of three children who are grown and I think we've done very well." He said, kissing her cheek.

"Even though, we hit a huge rough patch in our life. We still managed to work through it all and sort out our problems. I think us talking about everything helped us heal and you're still my best friend and soulmate." She said.

"I was a fool to see what was happening and I let my drinking get in the way of the most important thing I have in my life, you and our children." John said.

"You won't lose us again. We're all human darling and we do messed up, crazy things but I never stopped loving you, even when I knew you were leaving, but you came back and you're here with me now." Christine said.

"I'm not going anywhere, you're stuck with me now." John said.

"I'd rather have you here than be lonely or wrapped in the arms of another woman or me with another man." Christine said.

"All the men you were with sucked anyway. They were all lame ass excuses for men." John said as Christine looked at him.

"I guess I just fell in love with the wrong people when all I wanted was you." Christine said.

"Tell me one good thing that came out of each of those men." John said.

"Nothing but heartache and pain." Christine said.

"You were miserable all the time when you were with them. You didn't have to tell me you were, I just knew it." John said.

"We know each other like an open book honey. We know everything about each other, so it's not that hard to read your face or expressions to know what you're thinking or what kind of mood you're in." Christine said.

"I feel the same way with you, so read my face Chrissy and what kind of mood am I in?" He asked.

"You're happy and you want to stop talking, so you can kiss me." Christine said as John smiled.

"You're right, I want to kiss you and the kids aren't home right now." He said.
