Chapter 2: You Are
Pulling up to her gate was such an amazing feeling, Christine looked to see that all three of her children's cars were in the driveway, seeing a banner that read 'WELCOME HOME MUM'.
"Hey guys, mum is here!" Henry said as Olivia and Emily came running to the front door.
"Do you have her flowers Emily?" Olivia asked her youngest sister.
"Yes." Emily said as they opened the door to see Christine pulling her suitcases out of the back.
"Mum!" All three of them screamed as Henry ran over to help her but first, the enveloped her in a big hug.
"My babies! It feels so good to be home!" Christine said as she didn't want to let them go.
"We made all your favorite foods and we bought your favorite wine, so let's go relax before our spa day." Olivia said as they each grabbed a suitcase and a box of some sort.
"You did not have to go through all that trouble." Christine said.
"Mum, it was no trouble at all. Now, c'mon and tell us how the tour went." Henry said.
They walked inside as Christine sat on the couch as her kids sat down.
"So, how was the tour mum?" Emily asked her.
"The tour went great, but I missed you guys and I'm so happy to be home." Christine said.
"Meet anyone new and fascinating?" Olivia asked her.
"Yeah, you always do but not like that, if you're asking me did I meet a man like I think you are." Christine said.
"Mom, you need to meet a man that'll sweep you off your feet." Emily said.
"I only had that once and I don't know if could be with another man." Christine said.
"How is dad?" Olivia asked.
"He's fine, he misses you guys just like I do when we're on tour." Christine said.
"Yeah, he asked me to go fishing with him." Henry said.
"He asked me if we we're going to Hawaii with him this year." Olivia said.
"I think it's a good idea, it takes your mind off school and work. He asked if I wanted to before we left to go on tour." Christine said as her children looked at each other, then her.
"Come with us!" Emily said.
"Yeah mom, Hawaii is just calling your name!" Olivia said.
"Dad bought a new piano there and he told us the last time we were there that "I wish your mum was here, this piano was just meant for her." We missed you last time, so let's all go together." Henry said.
"I already am, I can never say no to you guys. On some things, I do but this is something I think will be good for me and your dad to work on some things for us and for work." Christine said.
"Mum, I never asked this but do you still love dad, but not in a friend way?" Olivia asked her mum.
"I do." Christine said.
"Dad is always just smiling at the mention of your name, like he has this picture of you guys on the mantle and I always see him staring at it." Henry said as Christine smiled.
"Well, when I was in my dressing room the other night. Me and your dad kissed and not in a friendly way either." Christine said.
"Mum, you and dad have so much love for each other and no matter how far or what you do, there's no one who could come in and make you two feel the same way you two feel. You're better together, than apart." Emily said.
"Mum, dad is still crazy about you. I mean, on stage, you two are all giddy and you both blush and glow every time." Henry said.
"It's like you're still married, that hasn't changed. Like, have you seen your live performances online?" Emily asked.
"I have." Christine said.
"Well, whatever you two decide to do. We'll support you both, even if it's still staying friends." Olivia said.
"Olivia is right." Henry said.
"We love you mum and we just want you and dad to be happy again." Emily said and Henry's phone started ringing.
"Speaking of dad. Hey dad, yeah I'm on my way. I'll be there soon and mum made it home and she says hi and she loves you too." He said as he ended his phone call.
"Have fun fishing baby and him I said hi and I love him too." Christine said as he kissed her son's cheek.
"I will and when I get back, we'll go get something for dinner." Henry said.
"Okay." Christine said as Henry left.
"Let's go to our spa day and pamper you, pretty lady!" Olivia said.
"Okay." Christine said as she got up and grabbed her purse, walking out her door and locking as she seen Olivia in the driver's seat and Emily is in the back as she got in the passengers seat of her oldest daughter's car, listening to Stevie and different genres of music sung by her girls all the way to the spa.
Christine relaxed with her girls, getting her nails done and thinking about the way John and the way he kissed her, it made her feel butterflies.
That night after the spa day and dinner with her kids upstairs asleep, she held a glass of wine as she sat down at her piano.
She felt her own song creep in her mind, knowing it fit perfectly with the way she was feeling.
Yes, you are everything to me
She heard her phone ring as she picked up, looking at the caller ID, she smiled and accepted it.
"Hey Chrissy." He said.
"Hey Johnny, what are you doing?" She asked him.
"Just watching TV, thought I'd call you and talk." He said.
"I'm sitting at my piano, just singing and playing anything that pops into my head." She said.
"It's nearing eleven now, I thought you'd be getting ready for bed but I thought we could talk about the other night." He said.
"I don't regret anything." She said, feeling his lips on hers and the way he held her in his arms.
"I don't either. Reminds me of when we'd be back stage, getting ready and trying to make it out onstage and on time." He said.
"It didn't help when Mick or someone would knock on the door and we were married and I was pregnant for a few of those shows." She said, reminiscing.
"We had so much fun backstage, on stage, playing shows and wherever back then, didn't we?" He asked.
"Yes we did honey." She said.
"Hey Chrissy?" He questioned.
"Yeah Johnny?" She asked.
"Would you like to go to dinner tomorrow night, just us?" He asked.
"I'd love to!" She said.
"I look forward to it." He said.
"Me too." She said, smiling.
...
She took a shower and was now laying in bed, reading a magazine on the latest beauty tips as she felt herself nodding off as she switched off her lamp and laid there, wondering what would happen at dinner tomorrow.
"The last time we went to a restaurant was four years ago, I think." Christine said to herself.
"Tomorrow night will go good, think happy thoughts." She said before falling asleep.
