Chapter 15: Meeting With Her Parents
John and Christine sat in front of Sophie's parents house, they wanted to know why her parents were being so against their daughter being in a healthy relationship and having a baby with someone who is already excited about becoming a father.
"It's okay darling." John said as he kissed her hand.
"This is the worst feeling ever because our son has got so much weight on his shoulders. A girlfriend, a baby on the way, a job which he loves, he's going to college and in eight months, our baby boy is going to be a dad." Christine said as she got emotional.
"Sweetheart, just remember that the kids are happy and these rich pricks don't matter, maybe to Sophie, even though they are treating their daughter like shit, but if this situation was with my baby girls, I'd be happy for them because at the end of the day, my life would be complete." John said.
"I feel the same way, as long as our babies are happy, then we both are." Christine said.
"Exactly, are you sure you don't won't me to come in with you? To support you , to give comfort in such an uncomfortable situation and for our son?" John asked.
"No darling, I need to do this on my own." Christine said as she unbuckled her seatbelt.
"Okay sweetheart, I'll be right here when you come back from listening to two snobby nosed, rich, self entitled assholes." John said as he kissed her hand.
"It's now or never." Christine said as she got out of the car, somewhat dreading this meeting of the parents but it had to be done.
Christine walked up the steps and onto the porch as she took a few breathing exercises and finally rang the doorbell, waiting anxiously for the door to open.
When the door opened, Sophie's mother clearly did not look pleased.
"Hello Mrs. McVie, what can I be of your service today?" The woman asked.
"We need to have a long talk and discussion about this whole situation, if you'll allow me to that is?" Christine questioned.
"Come in." The woman said.
"Mrs. McAllister, I understand you're not pleased with Sophie's pregnancy but I can already tell you that your daughter and my son will make wonderful parents." Christine said.
"She doesn't even know what she wants in her life, next thing I know, she comes to my husband and I, telling us that she's pregnant after some hotel hookup in London with your son." The man said.
"She's already told me that she's got her degree in art, same degree I have when I graduated from art school and she doesn't want to model anymore and she's happy, that's what we want for our children." Christine said.
"I don't think my daughter has clearly thought about what this means for her, what is she going to do with some art degree? Join a band, get married and become a musician?" The woman questioned as Christine knew the last part was directed at her.
"It doesn't matter what she does with her degree and she's got a job working for this nice museum and she really enjoys it, it's not about what makes you two happy, your daughter has her own independence, her own freedom to do whatever she pleases." Christine said.
"She's way too young to have a kid, she's going to regret everything and I will not let my daughter make a big mistake." The man said.
"She's grown, it's not like their in high school, this is about our kids and our grandchild we're talking about here and they both have more money than we had when we were at their age." Christine said.
"Our children are still in their twenties with so many opportunities that they just threw away and they'll regret this, it might be all sunshine and rainbows to them now, but just wait for all this to come crashing down on them." The woman said.
"Our children are old enough to understand how this whole process works, maybe this baby will be a chance for them to learn and grow, I was much older when I had my son and my daughters but I had to learn the ropes of having children and I have three children." Christine said.
"I don't think this will be a learning experience, it was a one night stand, just you wait until this falls through the cracks, our daughter will be the one who gets hurt in the end." The woman said.
"Why are you so hell bent on putting all the blame on my son? He's a wonderful person and he loves your daughter, it wasn't just him in that hotel room, it takes two to tango and I'm happy for them both." Christine said.
"I just don't see this working out at all, maybe for the baby, but not as far as a relationship goes, I don't see it working out." The woman said, pouring herself a large glass of some kind of dark liquor.
"We have our doubts Mrs. McVie and we're sorry you had to waste your time to come here a perfectly nice day you could've spent at home with your husband and children and I'm sorry it had to come to this but we know what's best for our daughter, I know she's happy now but it doesn't always last." The man said as Christine plastered on a fake smile but tried to keep her composure from knocking them out.
"I know we'll see each other more because if you two can't acknowledge that two people who love each other, despite how they met and how this happened, now they are having a baby and are happy, it'll make them feel like we don't support this decision, like I said, it's not about us, it's about our children and our grandchild. I hope you both have a wonderful day and I'll see myself out the door." Christine said as she got up and walked to the door.
"We both know how this is going to end, from mother to mother, I know this phase won't last forever." The woman said.
"Maybe it will, may it won't but for now, let's let them decide that. You know, you know my name but what is yours?" Christine asked.
"My name is Susan and my husband's name is Sam." The woman said.
"Well, I'll be going now." Christine said as she walked out of the house and John could see from his wife's face that the two people living in that house, we're still set on not realizing that this was the way it was going to be.
Christine got in and sighed in frustration, John caressed her thigh.
"I need a strong drink, a cigarette and I want to take a long, hot bath with you and have glass, no, a bottle of wine after dealing with those two." Christine said as John loved the idea.
"If they are not happy about being grandparents, then we'll be there for them, I'm sorry the meeting did not go well darling." John said, caressing his wife's thigh.
"All that matters now is that we focus on us and our children, I'll be there for Sophie through everything, let's go home and spend some much needed time together." Christine said as she caressed John's thigh as she flashed him a seductive smile and look.
"Let's get home, get you that drink and that bath." John said.
"Sounds great." Christine said as they pulled out of the driveway and started their journey to their house.
...
John kissed all the spots on her shoulders, massaging the tension his lady had built up in her shoulders, wondering how two parents could be so dense to the idea of a baby coming into this world, they were talking about all three times they found out they were pregnant with all three of their babies.
"Remember when I found out when I was pregnant with Emily? She was definitely a surprise, I took a couple of tests that I thought they were an error and I went to the doctor." Christine said, remembering the exact day she found out.
"That day in the recording studio sure was a lot of fun, I just remember looking at you singing and dancing to the tracks you deemed as "no good" but darling, I was in awe of looking at the way you were singing and dancing, I kept looking at you and thinking to myself "Here I am with the most beautiful, talented and sexiest woman in the world and I get to hear this masterpiece, I'm the luckiest man on Earth right now." John said as Christine turned to face him as she smiled.
"You were my muse as well as our children, I remember Henry and Olivia would run around in the studio back home while Dan and I were working, you wanted to hear the playback and you had the biggest smile on your face." Christine said as John curled a damp, wet lock of her blonde hair around his finger, smiling.
"You always take my breath away baby, you're the most talented person I have ever met, you are everything to me." John said the last part in kind of a sing song voice.
"I wrote that song for you, I remember seeing you playing with the kids in the family room one day and I got out my pen and paper, wrote the song down and just wanted to everyone to know that it was a special song I wrote just for you and how amazing you are to me and our kids." Christine said as John kissed her.
"After everyone left and we put the kids to bed that night, I was just so proud of you and that was a really special night to remember." John said.
"Oh I remember it very well, it was a great memory of how our family became whole with our last little baby." Christine said as she wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a deep, sultry kiss on the lips.
They were in a heated, passionate kiss as John stroked her womanhood softly, earning a moan and a groan when a knock came to their bedroom door, stopping them from going any further.
"Who is it?" Christine asked in a breathless, raspy voice, clearing her throat.
"Mum, Sophie is downstairs and she's pacing back and forth in the kitchen." Olivia said as Christine looked at John as he stood up in the bath and got out, putting his robe on.
"I'm sorry darling, I promise to make it up to you later on tonight." Christine said as she extended her hand.
"Go baby, Sophie needs you more right now." John said, grabbing her hand and gently pulling her to her feet as he got her robe, admiring her backside.
"Be ready when I come back upstairs." Christine said as she kissed him, slowly.
"I'll go make dinner, I know you and the kids will be ravished by then." John said.
"I want something that I can drink wine with and I want you all to myself tonight, I want you to get me tipsy." Christine said as she smiled.
"Spaghetti sounds good." John said.
"Sounds wonderful, now I have to get dressed." Christine said, just wanting to lay naked in their bed with John pressed against her body.
"I promise to make you feel better later on sweetheart." John said as he patted her behind.
"I can't wait to have you all to myself." Christine said.
"I know and I feel the same way about you sweetheart." John said.
"I need to get downstairs, I believe Sophie just came back from her parents house and they probably told her I was there." Christine said as someone knocked on their bedroom door.
"Who is it?" John asked as Christine got in her pajamas, not wanting to scare their children if they came in and seen her naked.
"Dad, it's me. Can Sophie and I speak to mum please?" Henry asked.
"Go downstairs and we'll be down in a minute." John said.
"They probably went to Sophie's parents house and they told them I was there." Christine said.
"I'm glad you did darling, someone had to do it and maybe it might have done some good, maybe not but no matter what, we'll be there for Henry and Sophie no matter what." John said, kissing her cheek and going in for a neck kiss.
"Let's get down there before Sophie causes herself more stress." Christine said as they walked downstairs and Sophie had streams of tears coming down her face as Sophie hugged Christine, almost in a bear hug and she felt safe in her arms.
"What's wrong darling?" Christine asked, pushing the hair drenched with tears that stuck to her face.
"My mum and dad called me over for dinner, I thought maybe they thought about the idea of becoming grandparents and having a grand baby would be great, only to tell me the same story I have been told since I found out and that they want nothing to do with me, Henry or the baby, saying that the baby was a bad idea and that my dream career and my life was over." Sophie said as she cried harder.
"Also when you went over there to talk some sense into them about us and the baby, she said she won't accept the idea and she feels sorry for us in the future." Henry said.
"They'll be the sorry ones son, this baby is a blessing and who cares if you're not married, some day you will be and Sophie, you have the best lady standing beside you, I know she's not your mum, but she is over the moon for you." John said.
"I appreciate you both for not being upset about the baby, it's just really hard when you want your own mother to love and support you and the idea about becoming a mum for the first time." Sophie said as she sat down beside Henry.
"Well, who needs your mum anyway, we've got the best one right here, she's Christine Fucking McVie, who else do you need when you have her?" Olivia questioned.
"Her literal name was Christine Perfect, fits the mold." Emily said.
"You all make me sound like I'm God, which I'm not." Christine said, laughing.
"Mum, you're Mother Earth and Queen of Fleetwood Mac, you're the songbird and no one can mess with the legacy that is Christine Fucking McVie." Olivia said.
"My mum is literally a bad ass." Henry said.
"I am not, I'm just here for what's on your mind and I'll share my thought process and wisdom with you and I'll be your support system sweetheart and we all will, you'll never feel alone." Christine said.
"Thank you Christine." Emily said as she felt a lot better.
"You're welcome darling." Christine said.
"I'm going to make dinner." John said as he got up kissing Christine on the lips.
...
Dinner was over and everyone was in bed, John was on his iPad as Christine came out of bathroom with a smile on her face as she started rubbing her husband's shoulders.
"Mhmm baby, that feels so good." John said as Christine applied lotion and more pressure to his aching neck, shoulders, back and arms.
"Want me to make you feel even better?" Christine questioned as she straddled his lap, John smiled as he could see a peak of her cleavage underneath the white satin robe she was wearing.
"I want to make you feel better. Lay on your stomach." John said.
"This is your night and I want to pamper you, you deserve it for being the best person and husband." Christine said as she rubbed lotion on his face and neck.
"How can I say no now?" John questioned as he enjoyed the massage and pampering with the show of her cleavage in his face, what more could he ask for.
"After all these years, my breasts and my body still turn you on after three kids nursed on them and my belly was their home for nine months with stretch marks and belly pooch." Christine said as John's hands started roaming.
"You are still the sexiest woman alive and I love your body, this belly was protecting our three babies, these breasts made food for their little bodies to nourish and grow, this body I have had engrained into my head for years." John said as Christine smiled as he kissed the curve of her neck, the sweet spot he knew all too.
"I love you so much." Christine said.
"I love you too darling, from the first day I met you to now." John said as Christine kissed him.
