Chapter 14: Family Meeting Part 2

They were still sitting at the table, the girls were so over it already as John and Christine were looking between them and the two lovebirds.

"Could you two knock it off? It's disgusting." Emily said.

"You wouldn't know anything about being in love Emily, so no, I think I'm going to take Sophie down to the park because we have a lot to talk about." Henry said as he and Sophie got up.

"I'd like to have a talk with you two as well, but be home in two hours Henry, your father and I need to have a talk with both of you." Christine said.

"We'll be back mum and have fun girls." Henry said, grabbing his keys and Sophie's hand as he left.

"That's not fair mum, he knocks a girl up in our house and you just let him slide." Olivia said.

"He's grown Olivia, what you two were fighting about earlier was hurtful to your mother." John said.

"Both of you were planned, Emily you were a surprise but you were not a mistake sweetheart." Christine said.

"It never felt like I was, just Henry and Olivia were your two rocks and I tore apart your marriage to daddy." Emily said as she started crying.

"That was not your fault darling, your dad and I at the time, our marriage was on a thin rope because of all the stress we had to deal within the band." Christine said.

"I obviously broke that rope and you went through postpartum depression because of me, I was the reason everything went downhill from there." Emily said as Christine wiped her daughter's tears.

"Sweetheart, what happened wasn't your fault, everything in our lives was stressful, when I thought I was retiring, I left for a reason and that's because I wanted to be you here with you, your brother and sister. I made that choice, you three are my pride and joy." Christine said.

"You didn't deserve all the pain you went through mum." Emily said.

"No one's perfect darling, I wasn't myself and your dad and I were just not happy with each other after the few years after I left the band, having you was the best thing that could've ever happened." Christine said.

"I wasn't perfect sweetheart, but your mum and I made it up to each other and I didn't love Julie anymore after seeing your mum at the last leg of the tour, I love your mum and always will." John said.

"But you had Molly, she's just a painful reminder of what could've been if you and mum would've remained married." Olivia said.

"I know it hurts sweetheart, but I promise I'll make it up to each one of you but I love each of you and that'll never change." John said.

"I'm happy that I didn't have to go through giving birth again, three babies were my limit and I stayed true to my word." Christine said.

"Can this meeting be over with now, please?" Olivia said.

"Yes but only if you promise me one thing?" Christine questioned.

"Anything!" The girls both said in unison.

"No more fighting and never have a fight like that again or I will make you go look for a new place to live, am I clear?" Christine questioned.

"Yes ma'am." They both said.

"Okay, now go upstairs until your father and I figure out what to cook for dinner." Christine said as the girls got up.

"Mum?" Emily questioned.

"Yes?" Christine answered.

"Can we have pizza, that way you don't have to cook?" Emily asked.

"I'll think about it." Christine said.

"Okay." Emily said as she walked out of the kitchen and went upstairs to her bedroom to start on her homework.

"Do you want pizza for dinner darling?" John asked, kissing her cheek.

"Actually, I'm ordering Mexican food for dinner because fuck cooking dinner and messing up my nice, clean kitchen and we're using plastic plates and silverware because I'm not washing dishes besides my nice glass of wine that I'm going to indulge in." Christine said as she smiled.

"Sounds great darling." John said.

...

Christine ordered dinner as it arrived as they sat around the kitchen table and talked when Henry and Sophie arrived.

"What's for dinner?" Henry asked.

"Mexican food." John said.

"Dad, that's not such a good idea right now." Henry said.

"Son, your mother ordered dinner and do you think I'm about to argue with my wife when she wants Mexican food, first rule of anything, when your wife wants Mexican food, she gets it." John said.

"Sophie's pregnant dad and she can hardly stand the smell of anything right now." Henry said.

"Really, because her and your mum just about ate an entire bag of chips and queso." John said as Henry looked at his mother and his girlfriend talking.

"Sophie, I thought you were too sick to eat?" Henry asked his girlfriend.

"They have a bit of salt on them and it helps with the morning sickness and trust me, this was my go to meal when I was pregnant with all three of you." Christine said.

"We ate enough Mexican food to last a lifetime." John said.

"I never heard you complain." Christine said as she ran her foot up and down her man's leg.

"You'll never hear me complain sweetheart." John said.

"Oh gross, you two are just as bad as those two." Olivia said as she could feel the sexual tension between her parents.

"I can flirt with my husband all I want, just be happy that I don't have a couple margaritas in me." Christine said.

"This is so good, I can feel all my senses come alive." Sophie said.

"Being pregnant will heighten all of your senses and when your morning sickness is over, all I can say is your sex life will be so much better, trust me." Christine said.

"Mum!" Both girls held their hands over their ears.

"I can talk to her about these things and she needs expert advice." Christine said.

"I appreciate it and I'll have so many questions, it's hard to not have your parents be supportive in this decision of your life." Sophie said.

"Your parents are not supportive of your pregnancy?" John questioned.

"No, they said I threw my entire life and career away for a half boy, half grown man with no future and that's not true. He has a job, he's going to college and we're looking for our own place as of right now." Sophie said.

"Your parents sound like they are the real "life of a party" people." John said.

"They just want me to be successful and I am, I have my own life and I want a future with your son and this baby." Sophie said.

"Well, we're thrilled about this, my first grand baby and I'm going to spoil him or her rotten." Christine said as she beamed with joy.

"You're not mad or upset?" Sophie questioned.

"No, not at all. Why would I be mad or upset?" Christine asked.

"I thought you both would be and I'm sorry about leaving my pregnancy test in your bathroom trash can." Sophie said.

"It was a surprise but I don't mind because I'm about to be a grandmother!" Christine said, giddy as could be as she felt like grabbing her phone and calling everyone she knew to tell them she was going to be a grandmother.

"I'm happy about being a grandfather, I'll get to teach my grandchild how to play bass and drive my boat." John said as he had a smile on his face.

"I have my first ultrasound next week at a OBGYN office next week but I'm skeptical about it." Sophie said.

"I'll take you and Henry, that way if you have any questions you may have, I can help you out and we can go to all your doctors appointments together." Christine said.

"That sounds great mum, but we can do this by ourselves." Henry said.

"No Henry, I want your mum there with us because I'm still nervous and she's had three children and knows how all the doctors appointments go and all the big things that we need to do." Sophie said.

"Mum, are you sure about this?" Henry asked her.

"I am and here darling, this was my doctor all three times and I highly recommend her, she's been my doctor for over twenty five years and she's the best in my opinion, unless you have someone you know and trust as a OBGYN." Christine said as she handed Sophie a piece of paper with her doctor's number on it.

"I don't have a preferred doctor but I trust you and your doctor Christine and I appreciate you both so much, you both have no idea how nervous I was to tell you." Sophie said.

"Sweetheart, I'm just glad it was yours because if we're my girls, I would've had a heart attack." John said as everyone laughed.

...

Everyone helped clean up, Henry went with Sophie back to her apartment, the girls went upstairs to shower and get in bed as Christine could not stop talking about the exciting news.

"We're about to be grandparents John." Christine said as she laid her head on John's chest.

"I know sweetheart, For awhile there, I thought it could've been Olivia or Emily's." John said.

"I know and if it would've been one of them, we'd never do what Sophie's parents did, I think it's downright ridiculous what they said and especially about our son, between them both, they can raise a child." Christine said.

"Her parents think negative about everything from what I gathered and I think both Henry and Sophie will make great parents." John said.

"I do too, they are both successful and have good jobs, Henry loves being an intern for IT company he works at and I'm proud of our son." Christine said.

"I'm proud of him too, I just hope that they won't get too overwhelmed with the fears we had when we first found out we were having him." John said.

"Every couple goes through the mixture of emotions with the first pregnancy, I went through all three pregnancies with fears and emotions." Christine said.

"I know sweetheart, I just want what's best for them both and Sophie seems like a real sweet person and Henry is a good person because we raised him that way." John said.

"I'm just happy that all is good again, I just want what's best for us and our kids." Christine said.

"Everything is going great for us sweetheart, we're both healthy, our kids are happy and we're having a grandchild. Life is perfect and we're both happy." John said as Christine kissed him.

The kiss deepened as John rolled her over on her back, pushing her nightgown up to her waist, pushed her knickers to the side and softly started pleasuring her.

"Ahh baby... Mhmm... That feels so good." Christine moaned, feeling his hardened erection against her leg.

"Tell me angel, what would you like for me to do?" John asked as Christine rolled him over on his back.

"I want to make you feel good, that's what I want." Christine said as she smiled.

"I know that smile." John said as Christine slid her hand into his pajama pants.

"Make love to me, please?" Christine asked as John rolled her over on her back once again.

"The pleasure is all mine." John said as he gave her what she really wanted.

...

"I love you so much." Christine said.

"I love you too darling, now let's get some sleep because our lives are about to become crazy and exciting once again." John said.

"We're about to have a grandchild, it's going to be so much fun." Christine said.

"I know you can't wait to tell Stevie, so after Sophie has an official check to see if the baby is alright and she wants to tell everyone, then we can tell everyone." John said.

"I need to go talk to Sophie's parents house and we need to have a real heart to heart talk about everything, I don't know why they are being uptight about their daughter giving them a grand baby, I'd understand if she wasn't able to but Henry and Sophie have wonderful jobs and they are going to make great parents no doubt in my mind." Christine said.

"I don't think it would hurt to go over and just talk to them about it, both of them can afford a baby, we could not when we were their age and they need to understand that Sophie needs support and love from both sides." John said.

"Both of them looked so happy tonight and if Sophie's mum doesn't support her, then I will because she needs guidance, love, support and care because every woman needs a team of ladies that will help her and I know Stevie will be by her side as well." Christine said.

"Not to mention, the both of you having an entire entourage of women who will love and spoil her now and when the baby comes, you'll spoil the baby rotten."

"I just want what's best for her and if she can't get that from her parents, especially her own mother, then I know plenty of women, including me, who'll make sure she has everything she needs for herself and the baby." Christine said.

"I'll come with you, just to be by your side for support." John said.

"Let me go over there first, I don't want this to be too confrontational and I just want to have a sit down and talk this out." Christine said.

"I'll just sit out in the driveway, I'm not letting you go over there by yourself." John said.

"Okay, I just want it to be a somewhat normal you know cool, calm and collected atmosphere because I don't want any hard feelings especially when it comes to our son and our grand baby." Christine said as she yawned, closing her eyes.

"I hope it will because I'm not afraid of beating a grown man's arse if says a cross word to you." John said, kissing his wife's forehead and snuggled closer to her.

"You big softie, you always say that and I can handle myself sometimes." Christine said.

"It's my job to be your protector, as well as our kids because one person says anything to you or our children, I'm not going to Mr. Nice guy, I will hurt someone." John said.

"I love you sweetheart." Christine said.

"I love you too baby." John said as he kissed her goodnight and they fell asleep, Christine sleeping up against him.
