i've decided that, after all the trauma, you all deserve some memes.

~Maeve's POV~

"That's the last box?"

"Yep. You guys are officially unpacked."

A few nights ago, Dick and I decided to officially move out of the Manor and into one of the safe houses in Blüdhaven.

The main reason for it is because I can't stand Bruce breathing down my neck and keeping me locked in here.

I need my life back, and I'm gonna do all I can to have it back.

As for the safe house, it's already payed for, connected to a Zeta Tube in the basement and it's isolated enough from the heart of the city and overlooks the lake connecting to Gotham City. Plus, it's big enough in case members of the Team need to spend the night.

"It's a good thing we have a speedster and a half-Kryptonian to help us unpack, huh?" Dick smirked, walking into the kitchen with six boxes of pizza. "Wally, you're getting two boxes, deal with it."

"How'd Alfred take the move?" Artemis asked, sitting on the counter next to me.

"Made us swear we'd call every day and have dinner in the Manor on Wednesdays and Sundays." I mused. "Dad looked like he was gonna cry, but powered through."

"His first birds left the nest, it's gonna be hard on him." Zatanna shrugged.

"I want my life back, Zee. I can't do it with Bruce constantly breathing down my neck and keeping me cooped up in the Manor."

"Plus, we need a place to work in peace without the Batman lurking around." Dick added, moving to sit next to Wally. "Independence from the Batman is... liberating to say the least. At least for me."

"It feels right to be doing our own thing, y'know?"

"Now that it's just us... how was it? Growing up with the Batman?" Megan asked. Dick and I looked at each other for a few seconds before sighing and looking at our plates that she was passing around.

"Lonely." We both answered in unison.

"But you two had each other." Raquel tilted her head confused.

"Sure, we lived, fought and trained together, but it was lonely sometimes. Most days, we couldn't live like other kids because we had to keep a reputation." Dick said, his jaw clenched. "The ward and daughter of Bruce Wayne... the fucking heirs."

"I never had a childhood and Dick had to grow up fast when he moved in. But then Jay came around and-"

"You could act like kids with him." Artemis interrupted me and I nodded.

"We spent years living in this perfect fantasy world that Bruce had to make in order to keep us safe. But a circus boy and a girl from the slumps? We weren't used to it... hell, we still aren't used to it." I continued and took a deep breath. "I love Bruce, don't get me wrong, and he did what he could. But sometimes... I wished he would look at me as a person and not some broken toy for him to try and fix."

"And Selina?"

"She wasn't around as much... Bruce and her had this on and off relationship that made things worse, I guess... I love her, but I know that Bruce won't ever fully choose her. The mission will always come first, before her and, sadly, before us."

"It stated to get better when Jace was around, but it's gone back to shit after he died." Dick mumbled and I nodded. "So to answer your question, growing up with the Batman was-"

"Complicated." I finished and looked up at them. "Your mentors most times looked at you all like people, but ours looked at us like some broken toys that needed fixing."

"We don't blame him, but I just wish he would've done some things completely different." Dick shrugged and looked up at me. "But I'm still grateful. He helped us get through things we didn't even know we were going through and gave us space to be our own person."

"And he's not all bad. He may be hard to deal with, but deep down he's a big softie." I smirked and they all laughed, except for Dick who had a small smile.

"Like the time he let you drive the Batmobile? I don't think I've ever seen him so scared in his life!" Dick exclaimed and I sheepishly shrugged. "I'm telling you... Bruce didn't even want to sit in the front with her! But Jason? That boy had the time of his life riding shotgun. Had his head out the window like a dog and everything!"

I couldn't help but laugh at the memory.

Maybe I'll be okay someday.

"You laughed today."

"I guess I did."

"I missed it." Dick admitted and I shrugged. "You were you again for a bit."

"I think she's hidden in there somewhere." I mumbled, not looking up from the holographic maps in front of me. "Remember the first time we stayed here?"

"How can I forget? You forced me to hack government files."

"Seems like a lifetime ago... everything was simpler then."

"Until Louisiana." He sighed and I nodded. "You found a place to search?"

"Crime Alley and we'll work from there. We're just gonna force him out of his hiding hole."

"How are we gonna pull this off without the big bad Bats? It's his turf after-"

"Bruce may know the slumps from the outside, but we, my dear life companion?" I smirked, changing the map to one of the sewer system of Gotham. "We're working from the inside."

"How did you-"

"You seem to forget that I used to hide in the sewers when I was a child. I know this city better than Batman and Artemis, and she grew up in the slumps with me."

"You truly are a wonder, huh?" Dick chuckled before picking me up and gently threw me onto the bed making me laugh. "Two laughs in one day? My ears have been blessed."

"It's a good day. I haven't had any good days in a while." I admitted. "I wanna keep having good days."

"Then maybe we should-"

Incoming call: Alfred Pennyworth

"Perfect timing as always." Dick sighed and I chuckled, gently pushing him off me and answered the call. "Yes, Alfred?"

"Master Dick, did you two settle okay?"

"Yeah, the Team came to help us unpack. We managed to unpack everything in a few hours."

"Then we have a visitor asking for you both. He says it's urgent."

"We'll be right there." I called out and ended the call. "To be continued, bird boy."

"Now I understand Bruce."

"Need a minute?"

"Maybe..."

"Honey, I'm home!"

"Someone's happy." Bruce called out from the couch and I shrugged.

"Had a good day today." I smiled softly and sat next to him. "You had a good day after we left?"

"We got the deal in Germany. So I'd say it was a good day too."

"Oh, absolutely the fuck not!" We heard Dick yell as he literally dragged a boy into the living room by the back of his shirt. "Where did he come from? As far as I know, my girl didn't pick up any strays on the way here!"

"I'm not a stray!" He defended and I raised my eyebrows, glancing at the folder in his hands before swiftly taking it. "Hey!"

"You've been stalking us? Really?" I asked, looking at the pictures of me and Dick from when he was Robin. "Isn't that illegal, kid?"

"I have a name."

"Which you haven't revealed."

"Tim Drake."

"Interesting." I smirked, setting the pictures on the coffee table and picked up the tablet next to them. "Give me two seconds."

"He asked me to become Robin again!" Dick exclaimed and Bruce hid a smirk. "Well!? Say something!"

"Says here you're from a wealthy family, Tim. Who would ever want to leave that?"

"If you live with them, you'd know." Tim grumbled.

"Amuse me, Timothy. And what's this about asking Dick to become Robin again?"

"You two need a Robin."

"Maybe put down the camera and pick up a newspaper sometime, Tim." I spat, crossing my arms over my chest. "Last Robin died in my arms and the first Robin almost died too many times to count. Domino can't have another Robin."

So much for my good day.

"There's never been a Domino without a Robin, Maeve."

"Maybe it's time she goes solo."

"Robin has been the only person capable of-"

"Making me not lose my shit?"

"Yes!"

God, how I wish he was wrong about that.

Robin and Domino.

Dick and Maeve. The first Robin and Domino. Domino and Nightwing... the perfect duo.

Jason and Maeve. The second Robin and Domino... the dynamic duo.

Maybe third time's a charm.

No... not again. Not after Arkham.

"Maybe it's time I let loose, y'know? Blow off some steam." I taunted and leaned forward. "How old are you?"

"Thirteen."

"IQ? You gotta be pretty smart to be able to find out our identity."

"152... and I found out when I was nine."

"Smart boy." I nodded impressed. "And you have a better idea than Dick donning the mantle again?"

"Train me." He said and I immediately stood up.

"No."

"Then Dick-"

"There won't be another Robin, Tim. So, I suggest you either go back home or Bruce takes in another stray. I don't care."

"But-"

"No." I repeated and turned to walk away. "I'm going to see Alfred and then I'm leaving. Ball's in your court, Tim. But I won't train another Robin, because there won't be another Robin."

"I think we both know what's gonna happen." Dick said, chasing after me and I rolled my eyes.

"If he decides to do it, it's on him. I'm not taking care of another stray." I shrugged and pulled him into a random hallway. "Tomorrow just after sunset. Come back early so you can eat something. We're going hunting and I'm not resting until I find him."

"You're serious?"

"If the inevitable is gonna happen, I'd prefer it to happen in a world where he doesn't exist."

"Then we go hunting tomorrow night."

"It's time he payed."
