a/n: last chapters of Season 1 before the chaos that is the five year gap commences.

"Can't believe it's been over six months since we all stood here... now, one of us is a League Member."

"It's been a crazy six months, huh, Domino?" Dick mused and I nodded with a laugh. "No one will call him a sidekick anymore."

"Since when is being a sidekick a bad thing? You sidekicks were my inspiration." Raquel asked and we all shrugged.

"You're still new... six months ago, Roy, Wall, Kaldur, Robin and I were in this very spot. He said that we wouldn't be anything more than sidekicks. He left and we went to CADMUS and rescued Connor, formed the Team against the League's wishes and here we are." I explained and both her and Zatanna widened their eyes just as Dick's gauntlet blinked.

"So, you four are the founding members?"

"Yep... craziness and all."

"Ah, yes. How could we forget Domino passing out every five minutes and had to be carried?" Wally mused and I rolled my eyes.

"It was the Venom! I had no control over it! Plus, we were mind controlled for a bit and almost cloned!"

"You were what now?" Artemis butted with wide eyes. "Another you? Another Robin? As if one wasn't enough!"

"No time to chitchat. We've gotta go." Dick interrupted and grabbed my hand. "Call the Bioship. We leave in ten."

"How bad is it?" I whispered as I grabbed a pen and paper. "Red may be a Leaguer, but he's still one of us. He deserves to know why we're not here to congratulate him."

"I think Cheshire is dead... it's bad." He frowned and I tensed. "I... I don't know how to tell-"

"Let's not jump to conclusions and get moving."

"This is the security footage from the Asheville Regional Airport. Facial recognition confirms that's Jade Nguyen. But you've seen her without her mask. What do you think?"

"It's her." Artemis and I said in unison and held each other's hands.

"Agreed, but focus on what she carries. Is that the case you saw in New Orleans? The one that got away?" Kaldur asked and Artemis nodded.

"We lost a case in New Orleans!?" I exclaimed. "Why did we lose a case in New Orleans!?"

"Because we were too busy trying to stop your dad from either killing you or scarring your face even more." Wally interjected and I scoffed.

"Then let me die! If it means he doesn't win, let me die!"

"You're joking, right? Remember the pact we all made when we formed the Team?" Dick asked with eyebrows raised and I groaned.

"Yes, I remember. But-"

"No buts." He scolded and I slumped in my seat. "Stop having a death wish every mission or else it's really gonna happen."

"I die, he doesn't win!"

"I don't care!"

"What's so important about that case?" Raquel asked, clearly noticing the tension and how everyone was glaring at me.

"Remember the Injustice League? And their giant evil plants?"

"Yeah? And I also remember the video of Domino-"

"The Team and the League...put them in prison, but their allies still scheme... and whatever is in that containment case seems important to their plans." Kaldur explained, not moving his gaze from me as I kept looking at my boots.

"We had a chance to grab it in New Orleans, but someone screwed up." Wally continued and glared at Artemis. "And Robin and I were making sure Joker didn't kidnap Domino again or killed her."

"Enough." I warned. "New Orleans was nobody's fault. We all had a lot to deal with."

"Approaching Chesire's jet." Megan called out and gasped. Artemis and I stood up and widened our eyes at the sight of the crashed jet. "Looks like there were no survivors."

"Get me down there, now!"

"How come Homeland Security and the N.T.S.B. Aren't all over this?"

"Cheshire's ID was a League alert. Authorities didn't pick it up, and her jet didn't follow its flight plan. Flew under the radar, literally. The Watchtower auto-tracked the jet and recorded the crash."

"I see footprints!" I called out and Artemis immediately rushed to my side. "East... west... south and they disappear."

"You don't think-"

"She's stubborn." I chuckled and noticed a drag trail. "North... and west. I don't like what I'm-"

"Looks like little monkey remembered something." Jade called out and I fought a sigh of relief while Artemis smiled slightly.

"We have unfinished business, Cheshire!"

"I am flora, not fauna. I am foliage, not trees. What am I?" I groaned at the voice and looked up at Riddler.

"Didn't Robin and I lock you up in Belle Reve a while ago!? Stop with the riddles, it's annoying!"

"Come on, you can get this. I am shrubbery, not grass. What am I? I..."

"Ambush." Dick and I replied in unison.

"Can I put him in a body cast for six months?" I asked, pulling out my bat.

"Six years please."

"Don't tempt me, Boy Wonder."

"Didn't you think we'd be tipped you were on Cheshire's trail? We're tired of your interference, kiddies. This is the end game. Ordered from above and executed by their master strategist, moi." Riddler praised himself and I rolled my eyes.

"I can and will hurt you again, Riddler! Then you can tell all your little friends how you lost to a girl again!" I yelled.

"Everyone linked?" Kaldur asked and we all confirmed. "Go!"

"Nigma's mine!" I said, using a grappling hook to get up to the ledge and landed in front of Riddler. "Long time, no see... uncle Riddler."

"Acey! You've grown up!"

"I literally locked you up six months ago."

"Your hair got longer? Or is it the pigtails? If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were honoring your father's-"

"Fat chance." I sneered, swinging the bat  but someone grabbed it before it made contact. "What the-"

"You seriously think I'd come unarmed? Especially knowing that my niece was going to be here?" He taunted. I turned to see a man in a white suit and clown face paint staring at me. "Your daddy says hello."

"Domino, talk to me!" Dick called out just as the man grabbed me by the throat and threw me off the ledge. "Domino!"

He threw a line and swung to catch me as Zatanna casted a spell to slow down my fall. When both of us landed safely, I saw her let out a sigh of relief and Wally hold his chest while taking deep breaths.

"Who was that!?"

"Joker making my life hell from Arkham." I coughed, rubbing my neck. "SB? Can you handle the behemoth before I get choked again!?"

"On it!" He said and flew to grab the man by the throat along with Mammoth and threw them.

Flew!?

"SB, you're flying!" Dick yelled in shock as we all watched rapidly punch both of them with a force that caused the cliff to collapse.

"Watch out!" I yelled, shielding Dick as the cliff collapsed around us. "You alright?"

"Should be asking you that." He managed to say and I smiled in relief. "Ready to end this? Together this time?"

"I was kinda over my head, huh?" I mused and we both swung to Riddler and Shimmer.

Using the snowstorm Zatanna created to our advantage, I threw some smoke bombs as Dick tied up Shimmer and punched her in the jaw, her head hitting the rocks and knocked out.

"Tekcajtiarts!" Zatanna yelled and Riddler was covered in a straight jacket making me laugh.

"No, no, I am not the straitjacket type. I'm strictly Belle Reve. Not Arkham!" Riddler whined and I rolled my eyes, grabbing his head and hit it against the same rocks Shimmer hit and knocked him out.

"Is he always like this?" Zatanna asked and we nodded.

"He's even worse."

"Tell me if this sounds familiar. You hacked League systems, disobeyed protocol and endangered your lives. And your initiative resulted in the capture of three escaped felons, proving Warden Strange runs Belle Reve as a cover for criminal activity."

"Yep, checks out alright." I smirked, tossing Bruce the briefcase. "And there's that too. You're welcome!"

"Well done." He praised and we all widened our eyes. "And then there's this. Bio-technology integrated with some form of nano-circuitry. We'll take it to the Watchtower for further study."

"Domino... this is for you." Canary smiled and handed me a note.

"He'll always be Speedy to me." I smirked and showed Dick the note.

"All caps and everything. So petty." He laughed and turned to the rest. "You all realize we were set up."

"Yes. Cheshire and Riddler were tipped and ready for us." Kaldur said and I groaned.

"Not the mole thing again!?"

"Mole thing? Again?" Raquel asked.

"We had intel that there was a traitor on the Team. Namely Artemis, M'gann or me." Connor explained. "Domino was also suspected for a while, but was quickly dismissed when she revealed why she was hiding stuff from us."

"It's a lot more complicated than Connor makes it seem." I interjected. "But his behavior does make me question. You nearly got me and Robin killed!"

"And me!" Artemis butted and widened her eyes when Connor winced and held his head. "SB?"

"There's something I need to do." Was all he said before rushing to the back of the Cave.

"Yeah, that's not suspicious at all." I rolled my eyes and unzipped my suit, Dick and Wally widening their eyes. "Bruised?"

"Yep." They said in unison.

"Great... so it's turtlenecks for a while."

"There's something I need to tell you." Connor returned and we all turned to him.

"Spill."

"Last month, on Thanksgiving, I went back to Cadmus, found a few things out. When I was cloned, only half the DNA was Superman's. The other half was human. That's why I don't have, will never have, full Kryptonian powers."

"You sure? Because you sure seemed to have them today." Dick pointed out.

"I've been using these. Shields. They suppress my human DNA. I get the flight, the heat-vision, but I think I also get angry. Well, angrier... I'm sorry."

"Where did you get those?" Kaldur asked.

"From my human father, Lex Luthor."

"You're kidding!?" I yelled. "Lex Luthor is your dad!? That's just as bad as me saying that Joker is my dad!"

"He's summoned me to Santa Prisca."

"Listen..." Artemis sighed and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Superboy and Domino aren't the only ones suffering from bad DNA."

"Artemis-"

"My mother is Huntress, an ex-con. The rest of my family aren't even ex. My dad's Sportsmaster and he's sending my sister, Cheshire... to fly me to Santa Prisca too."

"When I said Artemis and I go way back... I mean that we were literally raised together as weapons." I added, discreetly hiding behind Dick and held his hand tight. "I was J's weapon and she was Sportsmaster's."

"I was so desperate to make sure none of you found out."

"I knew." Dick said proudly. "Domino never snitched... I'm a detective. But it never mattered. You aren't your family... you're one of us."

"So... who's next?" Wally mused.

"I am." Megan said softly and we widened our eyes.

"I was kidding!"

"Queen Bee's been blackmailing me. She wants me in Santa Prisca too."

"Am I the only one who has a dark past and wasn't summoned!?" I called out, still in shock.

"I'd say that's a good thing, Domino." Zatanna shrugged. "Plus, I think you still got Joker immunity on top of your Batman immunity."

"Sometimes being the daughter of a psycho pays off... but she's blackmailing you how, M'gann?"

"She knows my true Martian form."

"Bald M'gann? Who cares if-"

"No..." She interrupted and shifted to her true form making all of us gasp and take a step back in shock.

"Wicked." I grinned.

"I realized you would never accept me...if you saw what I really am." She mumbled, hugging herself.

"Do we truly seem so shallow?" Kaldur chuckled.

"I couldn't take a chance. Being a white Martian among the green on Mars, I endured constant rejection. I couldn't face that from-"

"From me?" Connor butted. "I've known since we mind-melded last September, in Bialya."

"But that was before we even became a couple. Why didn't you say anything!?"

"I figured you'd tell me when you were ready."

"Hey... being different isn't so bad, M'gann. I was dumped in a pit of acid when I was five, have Joker Venom injected monthly and have my face permanently scarred. We're the least judgmental group you'd find." I assured as she shifted back and smiled at me.

"Thank you..."

"You're all needed in Prisca. We'll be on standby just in case." Dick assured and they all nodded before leaving. "What the hell just happened?"

"I don't know, but my brain hurts." Wally mumbled and I laughed. "It hurts even more when Domino admitted she was Joker's daughter!"

"I think that we all need to sit down and get the secrets out of the way. But there'll be time for that soon. Let them handle their business and we'll wait for their call." I said, removing my mask. "Pizza?"

"You read my mind, Domino."
