"Where were you!? We were at the beach all day and all I could think about was you not knowing how to make a sandcastle!"
"Following a lead on my situation with Bats and my aunt... he's definitely not in Gotham or Blüdhaven." I answered and Dick nodded with a frown. "Classes don't start 'til like two more weeks! You can show me how to make a sandcastle tomorrow or something."
"I'm holding you to it." He grinned as I swung an arm over his shoulder. "Ooh! Meet the newest member-"
"Artemis!?" I exclaimed and she turned around with a smirk. "No way!? How'd you-"
Recognized: Kid Flash, B03.
"The Wall-man is here!" Wally exclaimed, appearing from the Zeta Tube in his swimsuit and carrying way too many stuff in his arms making him trip and fall right in front is us.
"Nice going, KF." I chuckled and stood next to Artemis.
"Wall-man, huh? I love the uniform. What exactly are your powers?" She smirked.
"Uh, who's this?" Wally asked with a grimace. "And don't tell me you know her too, Domino."
"Artemis, your new teammate... and we both go way back to when we were kids."
"Yep, we had similar childhood experiences and bonded over near death experiences when I was twelve and she was fourteen." I continued and he widened his eyes, scrambling to stand up.
"Kid Flash. Never heard of you."
"Um, she's my new protége." Green Arrow stepped up and we widened our eyes.
"Wha-what happened to your old one?"
Recognized: Speedy, B06
"Well for starters, he doesn't go by Speedy anymore." Roy states, walking out of the Zeta Tube. "Call me Red Arrow."
"Roy. You look-"
"Replaceable."
"It's not like that." Green Arrow tries. "You told me you were going solo."
"So why waste time finding a sub?" Roy rhetorically questions angrily. "Can she even use that bow?"
"Yes, she can." Artemis steeped up.
"And who are you?" Wally questioned again.
"I'm his niece." Artemis says
"She's my niece." Green Arrow says at the same time.
I gave Dick a knowing nod and moved next to him.
"Don't ask questions you don't want to know. Keep your detective work to yourself." I whispered.
"You'll tell me?"
"Fat chance, birdie."
"We have always wanted you on the Team, and we have no quota on archers." Kaldur tells Roy and we all nodded.
"There'll always be a spot for you, Roy." I added with a hopeful smile.
"And if there was a quota, you'd know who we pick." Wally finished with a shrug.
"Whatever, Baywatch, I'm here to stay." Artemis called out.
"You came to us for a reason." Kaldur said, trying to stop Roy from leaving.
"Yeah, a reason named Dr. Serling Roquette." He said, glancing at Dick who tensed and immediately pulled out the data from his gauntlet.
"Nanorobotics genius and claytronics expert at Royal University in Star City- vanished two weeks ago."
"Abducted two weeks ago by the League of Shadows."
"Whoa. You want us to rescue her from the Shadows?"
"I already rescued her... Only one problem. The Shadows had already coerced her into a weapon, Doc calls it the Fog, comprised of millions of microscopic robots, nanotech infiltrators, capable of disintegrating anything in their path- concrete, steel, flesh, bone- but its true purpose isn't mere destruction. It's theft. The infiltrators eat and story raw data from any computer system and deliver the stolen data to the Shadows. Providing them access to weapons, strategic defense, cutting edge science and tech."
"Wicked." I grinned, taking a step forward.
"Perfect for extortion, manipulation, and power broking." Artemis picks up, decidedly ignoring the angry look from Wally and the knowing look from Dick.
"Typical Shadow behavior." I snickered.
"Like you two know anything about the Shadows." Wally scoffed, but we both smiled tauntingly at him. "Okay, who are you!? And why and how do you know each other!?"
"Roquette's working on a virus to render the Fog inert." Roy interrupted Wally's existencial crisis.
"But if the Shadows know she can do that-"
"They'll target her. Right now, she's off the grid... I stashed her at the local high school's computer lab."
"You left her alone?" Green Arrow questions, shocked.
"She's safe enough for now." Roy rebuttals.
"Then let's, you and I, keep her that way."
"You and I?" He questions, sounding both angry and surprised. "Don't you want to take your new protége?"
"You brought this to us, Red... I think it's our mission now, which means it's hers too." I interrupted and hid behind Dick when Roy sent me a death glare. "Or not... whatever's good for you, I guess."
"Then my job's done." He says walking back towards the Zeta-Tubes and left.
"I'll help Artemis get ready." I offered and pulled her away from the Team. "Hey, how's your mom?"
"Still in a wheelchair, but she's doing better. How's yours?"
"Still in love with my psychotic father."
"Yeah... heard from Dad and Jade that he escaped Arkham again. Any luck finding him?" She asked and I shook my head. "Nice to see you decided to stay with the hero bit, Ace. It suits you."
"It's Domino now... and I'm glad that both of us decided to not be like our fathers."
"Be the change you wanna see, huh?"
"Whatever helps us sleep at night, Artemis."

"Everyone online?"
"I'll never get used to this." I winced and rested my head on Dick's shoulder.
"This is weird." Artemis half groans, sitting down on the desk Dr. Roquette is working at to keep from losing her balance.
"And distracting." Dr. Roquette's voice cuts in as she continues to code quickly. "Coding a distributive algorithm virus on a kiddie computer with less RAM than a wristwatch is hard enough. Now I have to hear teen-think in my skull?"
"Lady, do you always complain when someone tries to help you?" Wally rolled his eyes and Dick gestured to look at my gauntlet as it blinked with a text from him.
"30$ and a sundae from Jeanie's that him and blondie date before the year is up.
Deal ;)
No lead on J?
None, and it's killing me. The sooner he's locked up, the sooner I can get back to try and live a normal life.
We'll find him, M. You'll see ;)
Hope so, D. Before I lose whatever's left of my sanity :/
You were never that sane to begin with, M.
I hate you, D.
No, you don't :D"
"The virus won't be of much use if we cannot find the weapon." Kaldur thought out and we immediately lowered our gauntlets. "Can you track it?"
"My utility fog is not a weapon. It's science, brilliant science, and of course I can track it, but I'd have to go online. Might as well rent a billboard with this address and "assassinate me" written in neon." Dr. Roquette scoffed and I rolled my eyes.
"We'll protect you."
"Tracking the Fog now."
"Don't fall asleep, Domino." Wally scolded.
"Stop eating, KF." I teased and he flipped me off before throwing a candy bar. "Aww, he feeds me!"
"Don't get used to it."

"Dr. Roquette has located the Fog. Reconfigure the BioShip so that Robin, and Superboy can pursuit."
"Domino stays?"
"Yes. She has to stay." Kaldur sighed and I snickered, joining Artemis and Megan outside.
"Good luck, birdie." I told Dick who was sporting a frown when he walked outside.
"Keep our channel open and-"
"Radio you and Bats if I go looney, I know... I'll be fine, birdie." I assured, putting on another earpiece from my belt and fist-bumped him. "Don't be stupid, alright?"
"That's all you, blondie." He grinned, getting on the Bioship and took off.
"That was cute." Artemis smirked and I rolled my eyes. "You still have to take the thing? Seriously?"
"Help me break the addiction in a way that won't kill me and then we'll talk."
"Addiction?" Megan asked with a frown and we both tensed. "How come she knows you more than we do?"
"We used to run with similar crowds when we were younger, especially around Crime Alley... We don't like talking about it."
"Must you keep so many secrets from us?"
"Where we're from, that's how you survive." Artemis replied, shielding me from Megan's questioning stare. "We were raised in hell, her more so than me. Secrets are the only way we can protect ourselves."
"But-"
"Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, Miss M. I'll explain it someday." I smiled and she nodded hesitantly.
"You alright?" Artemis asked, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Someday, hopefully."
"Well, that's grim."
"Dad's a comedian... it's my job to ruin the punchline."
"It wasn't funny and there was no punchline."
"Then it means that I served my purpose."

"M'gann, Kid, Domino, Artemis, we are under attack in the computer lab."
"Finally some action!" I grinned and ran inside with Megan and Artemis right behind me.
Megan steered off to another hallway while me and Artemis sprinted towards the classroom. Once we arrived, I kicked the door and threw a knife at the girl's hand, knocking down her weapon.
"Don't move." Artemis states slowly, raising her bow and shielded me slightly. "And don't even think about saying-"
"Little Acey! It's been far too long." Jade said and I tensed, reaching to grab a Batarang from my belt. "This gig's getting interesting."
"Bitch." I spat, reaching to grab my bat as well.
"Look who's talking."
Artemis releases the arrows in rapid succession, however Jade slices through them, nearly in half every time. I took the opportunity to swing the bat at her mask, successfully cracking it pressed the Batarang at her neck.
"Wanna call me that again or do you want to keep your vocal chords?" I asked and she widened her eyes. "You seem to forget just what I'm capable of doing before they can try and stop me."
"Maybe this is a little too interesting... See you next time, Acey." Jade chuckled, kicking my abdomen and threw a smoke bomb before pushing me into Artemis' arms.
"She's gone." Kaldur said once the smoke cleared and I groaned in frustration. "And you and I are having a talk... now."
"No." I scoffed.
"That wasn't a question, Domino."
