"You're staying on the sidelines, Richard Grayson!"
"But-"
"You got shot, Joker's running amok, Bruce had a bad day, and Jason's joining us tonight." I warned and heard him sigh from behind the changing curtain. "Now, get out of there before Bruce comes and yells at us again... Jason! If you're not down in three minutes, you're staying and helping Alfred clean the carpets!"
"What do you think of the new look?" Dick asked, stepping out in his new suit and my eyes widened. "I take it that you like it."
"Maybe..." I mumbled, wrapping my arms around his neck. "Black and blue? What happened to the red and yellow?"
"Reminds me of a certain someone's stealth suit."
"You know I stopped wearing my stealth suit for like almost two years now, right?"
"Bring it back, I miss it." He smiled and pecked my lips. "Then we can be that stupid couple that's always matching."
"Maybe... when Artemis wears hers and matches with Wally." I smirked and pulled away, noticing Jason try to discreetly hide behind the computer. "Which reminds me, you cracked the hard drive?"
"Not yet, but Wally was gonna work on it tonight."
"I'll help him tomorrow. I'm getting really good at the tech stuff!"
"You better since the first thing you learned was to hack the League's system." Bruce called out with a small smile. "Hopefully tonight's gonna be a-"
"Don't say the 'q' word!" Dick and I yelled.
"Sorry... Jason, let's go! If you can't suit up at home base, I'm concerned how you would handle in the field!"
"Got word from the GCPD that Riddler's on the run again." Dick said, leaning back against the computer right behind where I saw Jason crawl into.
"Him, Joker, Ivy, Harley, Pyg Scarecrow... what else is new?" I mused taking a cup of coffee from Alfred. "Mmm... Kaldur said that Connor, Zee, him and I have to go to Bosnia in like two days. Word is that there's this nuclear bomb threat again and something with Luthor I couldn't understand. You guys will stay behind to monitor and to keep trying to crack that hard drive if I can't do it with Wall tomorrow."
"Sounds fun."
"Sounds boring, actually. Should be a few hours max and then I'll be back in time for your mathlete competition."
"Jason!" Bruce yelled again and I held back a smirk, noticing his little feet walking away.
"Perhaps Master Jason is brooding. Master Dick spent at least thirty minutes admiring his reflection when he first donned the cape." Alfred said and I laughed.
"You're joking? Please tell me you're not joking, Alfred."
"I looked damn good in that suit!" Dick defended.
"Bird boy, that was a speedo and no, you didn't."
"You should've seen him that first night, Maeve. He was shaking by the end of it because it was so cold." Bruce laughed and winked at me. "Jason, get down here or we're going on patrol without you!"
And on cue, Jason jumped from behind the computer, causing Alfred to drop the tray and Dick to scream while me and Bruce doubled over in laughter.
"Gotcha!"
"I actually saw you crawl behind the computer and saw your feet move. You didn't get me." I laughed and wiped the tears that were forming. "My God, bird boy! You screamed like a five year old girl!"
"You would've... if I hadn't seen you crawl behind the computer banks three minutes ago." Bruce smirked and turned to me. "It's on video, don't worry."
"Wally and Connor are gonna have a field day with it!"
"Nah, I got you all good!" Jason confidently said.
"How does it feel?" Dick asked, clutching his chest. "And don't give me another heart attack!"
"Check me out, Nightwing! I'm Robin, the Boy Wonder!" He exclaimed, doing some backflips and we all laughed. "It feels awesome! Are you kidding me!? This rocks!"
"Glad you like my old suit... Robin."
"Come on, oldies! We've got bad guys that need chasing."
"Oldies!? Dick and I are two years older than you! Bruce is the old man around here!" I gasped and chased him to the top of the Batmobile.
"This is the best day of my life!" Jason grinned and hugged me tight. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"You're gonna make me cry, little bird." I laughed and kissed the top of his head. "But let's see how well you do on the field. You ready?"
"Born ready!"
"We'll see about that, Robin."

"Riddler's right there! We can just-"
"Patience, Robin... look around and tell me what you see." I chuckled, stopping him from jumping off the building and into the museum.
"Goons, six o'clock."
"What else?" Bruce asked.
"Glass window at ten."
"And?"
"Security cameras stopped blinking."
"Bingo... which means what?" Dick smirked, picking his grappling hook as I wrapped my arms around him.
"We go in and out undetected and without police bothering us."
"Exactly... now, try to catch up, little bird. It's time to work." I grinned as Dick and I both swung down, Jason's laugh echoing as he tried to catch up. "We're gonna have our hands full with him, aren't we?"
"You're saying that as if we're his parents." Dick laughed as the three of us decided to break a window and land on top of some goons.
"You guys having a party?" Jason quipped, kicking them in the face. "Guess our invite got lost."
"It's over, Riddler." Bruce announced and I waved.
"Missed me, uncle?" I smirked taking a step forward.
Riddler said nothing and stepped to the side, making one of the goons shoot arrows at us.
While Dick, Bruce and I dodged them, Jason immediately took him down and stood in front of Riddler with a smirk.
"Robin!" I yelled, trying to run but Bruce held me back.
"Let's see how he handles it." He whispered while handing me a smoke grenade. "But stay ready."
"Riddle me this! What's green and purple, but covered in red and yellow?" Jason smirked before kicking Riddler in the crotch and sent him flying down the stairs. "You! When I land on your sorry butt!"
"You've gotta work on your comebacks, kid." Dick sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"He's fine, let him be." I defended and helped Bruce tie up Riddler while Dick and Jason tied up the goons. "Your pick, uncle Riddler... straight jacket in Arkham or being someone's girlfriend in Belle Reve."
"Girlfriend, always the girlfriend!"
"Scarecrow's on the radar. I want you two to deal with it while I take Robin to North Gotham." Bruce called out and we both raised our eyebrows.
"Who's in North Gotham?"
"Ivy."
"Tell her she owes me an explanation about Louisiana... can we take-"
"No."
"But I know how to drive!" I whined, feeling Dick pull me to the broken window.
"You two have Nightwing's bike. Take it." Bruce waved me off and I scoffed.
"That thing barely fits two people!"
"Used to just fine, Domino." Dick pointed out.
"Yeah, until puberty where someone decided to bulk up." I grumbled, holding onto him as he threw a line and we swung away. "I'm worried..."
"About Robin?"
"Yes."
"Stop worrying... he'll be fine." He assured and kissed my forehead. "Scarecrow's by the pier at the abandoned amusement park."
"I just can't shake the feeling, Nightwing." I sighed, getting on the bike and put on the helmet. "Something's gonna happen... I just don't know what."
"It's called paranoia. Save it for Scarecrow... he hates it when you're around because you distract him."
"We both distract him, stupid."
"You more than me, Domino... so much for staying on the sidelines, huh?"
"Don't remind me or I'll start hunting him down to kill him."
"Sorry..."

"Alright, Crane! Let's get this over with! I've got homework and work tomorrow."
"Domino! I've been waiting for you."
"Okay? Can we just get this over with?" I called out, walking around the house of mirrors with a gas mask and holding Dick's hand tight.
"I smell your fear, Domino... and Robin's."
"Nope, not Robin anymore!" Dick yelled.
I stopped in front of a mirror and gasped at what was staring back at me.
Joker holding me as a newborn...
"Alright, Scarecrow! Enough with the games and the exposure therapy. I have enough of that every day looking at my face."
"What's wrong, Domino? Scared of your own reflection?"
"I fear nothing. I've laughed in the face of what scares me the most when I was a child." I shrugged, lowering my gas mask and broke the mirror. "This is child's play!"
"Don't give him more ammo." Dick whispered, refusing to look at the mirrors. "And put on your mask for the love of-"
"I'm immune... Joker venom had traces of his fear toxin until I moved in."
"You really were created to be the perfect weapon, huh?"
"You have no idea." I sighed, walking a few steps ahead and held out my bat. "Out of all things... why did it have to be a house of mirrors? I hate these things!"
"Mirrors are pathways to the unknown, Domino." Scarecrow's voice rung out and I tensed not feeling Dick's presence behind me. "So much pain for someone so young... you both carry burdens not even an adult should carry."
"Nightwing!" I called out but got no answer. "Enough with the games, Doctor! I've had enough! And what have you done to my bird, huh!?"
"Sweet little Domino. A heart of gold but it's locked in a titanium vault... let's dig deeper, shall we?"
"Yeah, I'd rather not."
"When did it start? The need to help others when you can't even help yourself?"
"You won't win!" I yelled, covering my ears. "Nightwing!"
"Born to entertain and serve, or starve and die instead." Scarecrow said as I stopped in front of a mirror, my reflection slowly turning to a younger version of myself.
"That's enough!" I begged, breaking the mirror and turned only to see myself in my old suit and bandaged up from my last facial reconstruction while Bruce stood behind gripping both of my shoulders tight.
"So desperately trying to hide your past... but you're dragging everyone down with you the moment you put on that mask."
The reflection changed to an older me holding Jason and Dick's dead bodies while Joker stood laughing in the background holding a gun.
"How do you know about Robin!?" I yelled, breaking the mirror and started running again in search of Dick.
"He's been watching you, Domino. You can't protect him."
"Watch me! He's a kid!"
"As were you."
"Nightwing! Nightwing, I swear to-"
"I'm here... I promise." Dick sighed, appearing in front of me and we both sighed in relief. "Got you too?"
"Not yet." I said, cuffing our hands together with a pair of handcuffs. "No chance we're getting separated again, Nightwing."
"Brings me back to when we started, huh?"
"Oh, get whelmed." I rolled my eyes and grabbed my bat.
"He's been watching you... Ace." Scarecrow taunted and we both tensed. "He knows about the boy."
"Yeah? Tell him I said to put the Joker card where the sun don't shine!"
"Robin?" Dick asked and I nodded, hearing Scarecrow's laugh get closer and closer.
"You two are becoming the very thing you promised yourself you never would." He said as the reflection in front of us turned into Joker and Batman staring down at us.
Dick and I both sucked in a breath and kicked the mirror until it broke. Taking a few steps back, Scarecrow emerged from the mirror and I bared my teeth, standing in front of Dick defensively.
"Scarecrow will put an end to your pain!" He yelled, raising his scythe, but we both blocked it before kicking him back. "What the-"
"I conquered my fears when I started with the Bats, Crane." Dick smirked.
"And I witnessed fear when I was born. You don't scare me." I continued as we both landed one final kick to the face and knocked him out. "Your turn to call him. I'm beat."
"Wanna rent a movie when we get home?" Dick offered after sending the signal to Bruce and Jason while I unlocked the handcuffs. "Batman was offering anyways."
"Can I pick this time? Because if I have to sit and watch another action movie, I'm gonna crack my head open against the wall."
"Whatever you want, Domino."
。゚•┈୨🃏୧┈• 。゚
"How was he?"
"Not bad for his first night. How was dealing with Scarecrow?"
"A literal headache! And I have like a thousand years of bad luck on me right now from all the mirrors I broke." I grumbled, throwing myself on the sofa and cuddled next to Dick while propping my feet on Bruce's lap. "Dick said I'm picking tonight, so no action movies. I wanna watch cartoons."
"Jason! Movie time!" Dick yelled and we heard a crash down the hall. "He really needs to learn how to brake properly."
"If the floors are waxed, we're gonna be joining him on the floor soon." I mused, grabbing the remote and watching as Jason crawled into the den. "Jace... brake with your heel, not the front."
"And slide your feet to the side so you won't crash into something."
"But I didn't break anything this time! I'm getting better at sliding!" Jason grinned, laying on top of me and I groaned.
"Jason! Get your fat ass off me!"
"But I'm comfy!"
"There's literally an entire den for you to sit, for the love of God!"
"But I don't wanna!"
"Yeah, well this is my spot."
"I don't care."
"You two give me headaches." Bruce grumbled, throwing a blanket at the three of us as Alfred walked inside with the popcorn. "What are we watching?"
"Anything but action and crime. I'm tired of solving the case before the climax." I yawned, putting on a random movie that I knew none of us would pay attention to it. "How was patrol, Jace?"
Silence.
"Jason?" I asked again but got no answer. "Is he-"
"Like a light... and so is the other one." Bruce chuckled as I turned my head to see Dick fast asleep.
"Your wards are idiots, Bruce."
"And my daughter has personality issues. What else is new?"
"Should I wake them up, Miss Maeve? You look rather uncomfortable." Alfred offered but I shook my head, feeling Dick pull me closer as I played with Jason's hair. "Though, I do think Master Dick has no intention of moving."
"I'm right where I want to be, Alfred."
