"Why did I know I'd find you here?"

"Mae, I don't-"

"I'm not here to tell you anything. I'm here because I don't want you to be alone right now." I shrugged and sat down in front of the Flying Grayson posters. "You were so little!"

"That was taken two weeks before it happened... guess it wasn't a death defying performance after all." Dick mumbled, hugging his knees. "They would've loved you, Mae."

"The Joker's daughter who's all scarred up? You're kidding me?"

"Wouldn't have mattered to them. They would've loved you just the same... especially Mom."

"You look like her, but with-"

"My dad's hair and eyes." He chuckled, leaning back on his elbows. "Haly always said I was a perfect mix of both of them. Never saw it until now, I guess."

"Y'know Harls snuck me out to see the circus once? It was a few months after I was dropped in the pit of acid and had time for my skin to heal... said that every kid deserved to see the circus at least once in their lives and escape from everything." I admitted and he turned to me with wide eyes.

"Guess Harley wasn't such a bad mother, huh?"

"Guess not... but it's-"

"Complicated?"

"Very." I sighed, resting my head on his shoulder. "Wish I got the chance to meet your parents, Dick. From your stories, they seem like nice people."

"Kinda wish you'd got to meet them too, Mae."

"Hey, we're on in ten." Roy called out with a frown. "So... Robin's a Flying Grayson?"

"How'd-"

"Nobody looks at a poster about to cry unless it means something to them. Secret's safe with me, don't worry." He promised as we both stood up. "But everyone's gonna find out sooner or later."

"Wally knows and obviously so does Domino. I'll tell the rest after this is over." Dick shrugged and reached out to hold my hand. "Did you check that-"

"Bolts are welded together and there's no rust. Trapeze bar was changed this morning and there's chalk everywhere on the ledge. M'gann did a test fly and I hung there for a bit to make sure. Silk ropes are also secured. We tripled-checked everything, Robin."

"Thanks, I wouldn't have asked if-"

"Dude, relax. We're all here for you, no questions asked. Especially now that I know what this means to you." Roy assured and smirked when he saw our intertwined hands. "Oh, you two are just adorable."

"So adorable that I can dispose of you without a single sound." I warned.

"Consider me whelmed, Domino."

"Ladies and gentleman... Welcome to the Haly International Traveling Circus... where the world of the center ring is your oyster. And these are our latest pearls... The Daring Dangers!"

"Here goes nothing, guys!" I said, standing next to Dick and waved at the crowd. "Let's see if you people learned something."

"Comforting." Roy scoffed.

"Dan and Dahlia Danger!" Haly introduced just as me and Dick held hands and swung down on a bar together.

Instead of swinging past Megan, two silk ropes dropped and I jumped from the bar, tangling myself in it with ease while Haly introduced the rest.

"You'll never see another trapeze act like this, folks. And all performed without a net!" He exclaimed as I did a few spins and stopped just above Connor.

Looking up, I saw Dick fail to grab Megan's hands and began to fall.

"Robin!" Megan yelled as I tried to get enough momentum to swing and grab him.

"Don't blow our cover!" Dick ordered.

"But saving your life's okay?" Connor scoffed, throwing a barrel. "Head up, Domino."

"On it!" I called out and grabbed Dick's arms while tangling my legs on the rope, swinging him towards Megan while doing a few spins. "All part of the act, kids. Nothing to worry about."

"You saying that to us or yourself?" Artemis asked, holding the ropes steady as I dropped when Dick landed safely next to Megan.

"Both... both is good."

"What did I just say!?" Dick screamed and I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

"You're welcome, by the way!"

"The crowd couldn't see me use telekinesis from below. Besides, I've been using it all night... I'm not exactly the acrobat you and Domino are." Megan admitted.

"Those ropes look like it hurts." Roy chuckled.

"Burn, actually. No amount of clothing will make this not hurt. Which is why I've only done this a handful of times. Plus, I'm not completely here, I'm still rusty."

"Yeah, and neither am I right now. I think I'm getting the 24-hour bug that's been going around the circus... but the show must go on... no matter what." Dick sighed climbing down as Roy helped me untangle from the silk rope.

"The Daring Dangers everyone!" Haly grinned and the crowd stood up cheering.

"Didn't think you'd make it through." Megan said and we all nodded.

"Neither did I. Help me backstage?" Dick asked me and I immediately wrapped an arm over his shoulder and walked backstage.

"You sure you're okay, Dan?" I asked, grabbing a hair for him to sit.

"Once I sweat out the fever, I will be." He grumbled, rubbing his temples.

"Suit and tie...Five o'clock." Roy announced and we all discreetly turned as a man walked towards us. "May we help you?"

"Faraday. Interpol. New act?"

"Just joined the tour." I replied, crossing my arms.

"What happened to your face, kid?" He asked, pointing at my smile and I shrugged.

"We all have our stories. You don't see me asking why your parents cursed you with that godforsaken name and why you're wearing a suit that's two sizes too small."

"Don't get too comfortable, kids." Faraday said, narrowing his eyes at me but Roy and Connor stepped up and shielded me. "I'd get off while I'm ahead, if I were you."

"Good thing you're not a performer." Roy spat. "And you'd be careful in talking to my little sister like that, you hear me?"

"Carnies threatening me? That's new."

"First time for everything... and it's a promise."

"Domino?"

"Area's as clear as can be. And strangely silent."

"Spoke too soon, Domino. I've got contact on the northeast quadrant." Connor called out as I looked up from the roof of the warehouse I was standing in. "Looks like we know why Carlo missed a performance."

"Could be Carlo. Could be his brother. Keep an open mind. And move in." Dick ordered, jumping down from the building closest to the warehouse. "Domino-"

"Going inside the warehouse. Find me in the vents." I saluted and climbed inside the nearest air vent. "I lost the carnie!"

"He's inside, left of your position. We're moving in now." Dick said and I started crawling. "Drop down on the pipe, Domino. We're inside."

"That was quick." I mused, dropping next to Dick and we both laughed, making Carlo look up at us. "Hey, buddy!"

"Caught red-handed. Red-faced too, I'll bet."

"Acrobatics won't get you out of this." Artemis taunted and he breathed fire at us. "Look out!"

"The crates are full of live ammo! Everyone move!" Roy yelled, grabbing my arm and shielded me just as Connor immediately pushed some metal plates to cover all of us when the ammo exploded.

"Everyone alright?" Artemis asked and everyone said yes, except for Megan. I poked my head out from Roy's arm to see her shielding Dick who was already looking at me.

"Arson's fun and all... but this is ridiculous!" I joked as Connor pushed the plates and we all coughed because of the smoke. "You need to get Miss M outta here, SB."

"He's getting away!"

"And that matters more than Miss M? The fire's killing her." Dick interjected and Connor sighed, picking her up and ran away. "You three go find the thief. I'll just-"

Dick collapsed on Artemis' arms before he could finish his sentence. Roy and I shared a knowing look before letting out a joint sigh.

"Because he matters more than you?" Artemis scoffed, slinging one of his arms over her shoulder.

"You're still off your game, pal." Roy added, grabbing Dick's other arm and pulled me close. "We're all getting out."

"But-"

"No, buts. We need time to regroup and we have a show tomorrow night." I said and Dick let out a frustrated sigh. "We'll scope out the place tomorrow before the show. You need to rest, Robin."

"Guess I could use the time to come up with a better plan."

"Whatever floats your boat, birdie."
