a/n: Dick being a malewife and supporting his girl is everything I need to keep living.

"What are you doing up, birthday girl?"

"Just left the bathroom. I was actually gonna go downstairs to see you."

"And I was gonna wake you up." Dick chuckled and almost immediately picked me up and wrapped my legs around his waist. "Happy birthday, my valentine."

"And happy Valentine's day, pretty boy." I smiled and kissed him, feeling my back slowly hit the mattress.

"You excited about tonight?" He asked, pressing light kisses all over my jaw and neck.

"Artemis helped me with my speech, but I think I'm gonna choke. I'm used to standing in the sidelines and let Dad take over everything."

Tonight, instead of celebrating my nineteenth birthday like a normal person, I'm inaugurating a charity to further honor Jason.

Bruce and I have been working on this five months after Jason died, but we weren't on good terms.

And today's the day.

"Everything's gonna be fine, baby. Most of the Team's gonna be there for moral support. And Tim and I will be right there on either side of you on the podium while you give your speech." He assured.

"Think my dress is okay? Because I didn't have the time to-"

"You could wear a potato sack and I'd still think you're the most beautiful woman in the world."

"Not helping, babe."

"It's not the outfit, it's the cause. You've been working on this with Bruce for months and it's finally come to fruition. Jason would be proud of you." Dick sighed and forced me to look up at him. "As long as the dress is easy to take off afterwards, I don't care."

"You fucking perv!" I laughed and flipped us so I was straddling his waist. I leaned down to press light kisses on his neck and to whisper in his ear. "And the zipper's on the side, by the way. And very easy to unzip."

"You start talking like that and I'll make sure we're late to the gala." He groaned, trying to discreetly lift his shirt that I was wearing and I smiled.

"I wouldn't mind if I start getting ready a little later than planned."

"Have I told you lately that you're beautiful?"

"I wouldn't mind hearing it while-"

"Fucking cockblock." Dick sighed and I shrugged.

"You two better not be doing the devil's tango!" Wally called out from downstairs. "This is important or else I wouldn't be here fearing for my life!"

"To be continued." I whispered against Dick's lips and sprinted out the room and down the stairs before he could catch me. "Mornin', Wall!"

"Happy birthday, Mae." He smiled and I hugged him tight.

"Dude, you're ruining my day off." Dick said from behind me and I stifled a laugh.

"If you're hiding a boner, so help me God!"

"It's your fault!"

"Focus!" I hissed and they both shut up. "What's going on, Wall?"

"We found Roy." He said and Dick and I tensed.

"Start talking."

"Shouldn't you be with the Boy Wonder talking sense into Roy?"

"You and I know him well enough that he won't listen, Jade. Which is why I'm here." I said as Jade appeared from the shadows. "You two are still married, you have privileges I don't."

"I forget you're a nepo baby now." She smirked, eyeing me up and down. "Nice dress... Maeve."

"Thanks... You'll talk to him, right?"

"I have a lot of things to talk about with him." She sighed, removing her backpack to reveal a baby sleeping soundly. "Aunt Monkey, meet Lian Nguyen-Harper."

"You're kidding me?" I asked, picking up Lian and rocked her when she stirred. "One of us can have one of these?"

"If you love the boy enough, you do crazy things."

"Chesh... this is-"

"Don't cry because you'll ruin your makeup before your big event." She smiled softly and I laughed. "It's possible to achieve happiness, Maeve. Despite the lives we lived."

"She's so beautiful..." I cooed. "Does Artemis-"

"Not yet, but I'll tell her soon. You're the first to know." Jade sighed and fixed my dress before taking Lian back. "I'll talk to Roy. He needs to know his daughter."

"We're not kids hiding from our fathers anymore, huh?" I mused and hugged her tight. "Please visit me more often. I want to know that sweet little girl and spoil her rotten."

"We didn't grow up to be like our fathers, Miss CEO of Wayne Enterprise at nineteen years old." She laughed and turned to leave but stopped. "When Artemis told me you started living with Bruce Wayne and changed your identity, I cried of joy... if any of us deserves it, it's you, Maeve. You deserve more than Artemis and I."

"Jade, I-"

"Tell Nightwing he better keep taking care of you or else big sister will make sure he never touches anything ever again."

"Will do, Jade."

~Dick's POV~

"She's gonna choke."

"She's not gonna choke, Connor. Tim's gonna be right next to her and we're sitting front and center for moral support." I said, leading the Team to our assigned seats just as Maeve walked out holding Tim's hand.

She let out a small sigh of relief when she noticed us sitting at the front and gave me a small smile.

"You're gonna be fine, babe." I said through the link and everyone started saying words of encouragement to her.

"We're so proud of you!" Zatanna grinned.

"On behalf of Wayne Enterprises, I'd like to thank all of you for taking the time to come here tonight." Maeve shakily started her speech and Tim gave a reassuring squeeze. "On behalf of my father, Bruce Wayne, he apologizes he couldn't be here tonight, but he sends his love and respect for everyone here."

"Here we go." Artemis whispered, gripping mine and Wally's hand.

From the side stage, you could see Selina holding Alfred's hand and wiping her tears.

"Born and raised in the streets of Gotham, Jason Todd was a boy who, despite life treating him so cruelly, decided to always find a way to help people. He always said to me: 'Why save one person when we can try to save them all? Everyone deserves a chance.'..." She continued and took a deep breath, blinking back her tears before setting the cards aside.

"What the hell is she doing!?" Artemis whisper-yelled and we all widened our eyes.

"Everyone who had the chance to meet Jason knew he was a kid destined for great things. A boy who refused to let his upbringings define who he was going to be as a person... my little brother always wanted to be a hero but was taken from this world before he had the proper chance to become one. The Little Bird Foundation is only the first step in making sure he gets that chance, despite him no longer being with us."

"You're doing great, Mae!" Megan cheered and she smiled softly.

"Gotham's going through trying times, that much is clear. Jason and I witnessed first hand what it was like to fight tooth and nail for a meal and a place to sleep. My job is to make sure that everyone here in Gotham City gets an opportunity to grow, no matter if you're from the slumps or come from old money. The Little Bird Foundation will provide help to those who need it most because we know what it was like to call for help and being ignored... As the newly appointed CEO of Wayne Enterprises, my first priority will be to lend a hand to those who need it."

"Dude, your girl's kicking it." Wally said and I smiled big.

"The Little Bird Foundation will have buildings all over Gotham City and Blüdhaven open 24/7 with a support group to those struggling with addiction, grief, and other issues... We will also serve meals three times a day and provide clothing and shelter to those in need for however long they need it. The people of this city aren't just the wealthy and middle class... out there are real people who need our help and it is our responsibility as human beings to answer that call and try to provide as much as we can. And, as my little brother Jason used to say: 'Everybody has a spark and deserves an opportunity, no matter how small it may be.'... Thank you." Maeve finished her speech with a huge grin and I was the first one to stand up and applaud.

"That's my girl everyone!" I cheered as she hugged Tim tight and walked down the steps of the stage with his help. "She did so good!"

We all immediately ran to the side stage and I engulfed her in a hug.

"How was it?" She shakily asked.

"Way better than anything I'll ever write that's for sure." Artemis praised.

"I felt like I was gonna vomit."

"You did look constipated in the beginning." Connor smirked and she punched his shoulder.

"Next week's the opening of the first building a block away from Crime Alley." Maeve said and turned to me. "Think you can make it?"

"We'll all make it, I'll make sure of it." I assured and kissed her cheek. "I'm so fucking proud of you."

"She had my hand in a death grip!" Tim complained, holding his hand and we all laughed. "It hurts!"

"Stop whining, Red Bird." Cassie laughed and his ears turned red. Maeve and I immediately turned to each other with a knowing smile.

"Wall, there's a buffet waiting for you." Maeve said and Wally widened his eyes. "Yes, you can go eat."

"Keep doing galas like these, I beg you!"

"Home sweet home... finally!"

"You did good today, baby. I'm really proud of you." I smiled and rushed to the kitchen as she sat down by the kitchen table. "Tired?"

"Not really. But after talking to over two hundred people and making sure Wally leaves food for the rest of the population, I'm just glad I'm able to sit in peace and quiet." She sighed. "It's been a really long day."

"But I swear it's gonna get better." I assured, making my way to the living room with a cupcake and a lit candle. "Make a wish, birthday girl."

"It's after midnight."

"It's still your birthday until morning because I say so."

Maeve just shook her head, closed her eyes and blew out the candle with a huge smile.

"What'd you wish for?" I asked, setting the cupcake aside.

"If I tell you, it won't come true, Boy Wonder." She teased, standing up and wrapped her arms around my neck. "You're really pretty, y'know that?"

"Am I now?" I smirked, running my hands up her sides until I found the zipper of her dress. "Found it."

"So you did." Maeve whispered and pulled me upstairs. "It's blue, by the way... Nightwing blue."

"You're gonna be the death of me, babe."
