The End of Evil

Your Elder-mama told you that on the brink of death, your entire life flashes before your eyes– from the moment you open your eyes, to where you're standing right then...

You thought she was simply telling you a tale to gently explain that she was dying, as she said it with such wonder; "You recall every happy, sad, excited and boring moment in your life, my little star... the ones forgotten, and pushed out."

You realize now, she was speaking the truth.

You remember seeing your Father's face for the first time... he looked down at you with tears of joy, and a wide, bright smile. That was the first time you smiled at him.

The next memory was laying in your mother's arms, staring up at her as she strokes your arm. The room around you was blurred, all you could see were her lips moving and eyes scanning over your face with pure love, while your own crying filled your ears.

And it continues... lost memories flooding back; your first nurse, a woman with darkening silver hair and a soft, wrinkled face full of joy and delight in caring for you.

First stumbling upon Eoñ– one of the palace guards– during your exploration of the castle hallways. You crawled up to him during his shift, and he was quite surprised to have to return the king and queen's child to them.

The happy memories.. playing in the gardens.. running into council meeting to tell your father you successfully used the potty.. learning and playing Royal Battles with Eoñ, and after years of loosing, finally beating him.
Taking lessons with your mother. Ones of grace and etiquette, and others of wielding the world, and the staff, and any other weapon that caught your eye.. every form of combat.. every step and footprint etched into your memory.

And the sad memories; witnessing your favorite and first nanny grow old, and attending her funeral, watching her star twinkle in the sky in the arms of your parents. You weren't sure why she left.. why she couldn't finish having her tea with you.. but you were sad.
Your aunt fighting viciously with your parents, demanding the old days, frightening you with her voice.. with her anger. How she glared at you with such loathing, knowing you would grow to be the same as your parents.

Your first birthday, to your fifth, to your tenth.. Every song your mother sang, every dance with your father, smiling and laughing in the ballroom, even when you stepped on his toes.

A million emotions washing over you... you take in a shaky breath, the air frigid and cold as it enters your lungs. You pass through 15 years, reliving each memory with every fine detail.. up to the moment of the end..

The two armies crash together. Weapons clash and clang together in a vicious fight.

Raphael and his brothers move across the battlefield, taking down foe after foe with speed and agility, unable to witness your battle; or save you from it.

You march toward your aunt with fire in your eyes, gathering your strength and the rage you stored from this entire experience. You cut down enemies that charge at you with a stone-cold expression and firmness, movements fluid and swift. Your aunt stares at you, cool, calm and collected, her sword held loosely in her hand. You glare and run forward, using the body of a dead Banished Bandit to leap up onto the rock platform Diana stands on. She immediately steps back and meets your sword with hers, the clang of the ancient, polished metal ringing in your ears and echoing throughout the land. You grunt and push her back, your blades scraping together before parting.

"You are such a foolish girl. Do you not see how flawed and impure our planet has grown to be?! Only I can save Lumina Stellar!" Diana snaps with a frown, glaring down at you.

"You're the foolish one to call our planet impure, when you are the most flawed person in this galaxy! You gave up everything for power, including yourself!" You retort, spinning and barely grazing her pale cheek. She hisses and holds her face, scarlet blood coating her hand with a mix of dull blue from the markings on her face. "You have no right to call anything impure, or flawed! You would be the one to doom my home-planet!"

She looks down at her hand, then up at you with a glare that could freeze molten lava. You gulp softly; memories of her anger were not fond, in fact they terrified you.

She lunges, her sword ready to sink into your flesh. You manage to dodge, her blade cutting your side. You clench your jaw to bear the pain and whirl around, clashing weapons again. She aims for your neck; you quickly block. The cries of her men being cut down and pushed back give you hope for victory. You fight harder, pressing her back toward the ledge of the rock stage you battle on.

Diana pants, weary and growing worried as the fire in your eyes grows brighter.
"Y/n..." She softly pleads. "Please... look at what this feud has done.. we used to have such a bond, and now you have spilled family blood on this soil." She lies, acting innocent and hoping to prey on your kind side.

"You did this!" You shout. "You murdered Uncle Gephod! And dear baby Sel..." You tighten your grip on your sword and hold it to her throat. "You spilled family blood first, and this is what we've come to. Now, any last words?"

Suddenly, you feel a cold pinch, and something sliding through your skin into your gut. Every nerve freezes in shock, and a feeling of discomfort slowly grows into unbearable pain. You know your eyes have widened, and you see Diana's lips move, but hear nothing. You will yourself to move. To try and finish it. You manage to stab her in the side, before the pain grows faster, like a forest fire.
'Oh... oh, I'm gonna throw up..' You think, feeling your body sway, loosing your balance.
Thud!
You hit the ground, five feet off the slab of rock. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot your aunt fall to her knees,  then down flat; defeated.

Your lips twitch with a slight smile.. she's gone, your home is safe..

A blur of green and red runs up to you, and you stare up at green eyes as your vision fills with black spots.

"Y/n.. Y/n.."

You take in a shaky breath, the air frigid and cold as it enters your lungs. You pass through 15 years, reliving each memory with every fine detail.. up to the moment of the end..

"Ra... Ra.. Raph.." You cough, the pain crawling up your body as your blood pools on the ground under you. "I.. I did it.." You wheeze, a shaky smile on your lips.

'I did it..'

As darkness fills your mind and you drift into unconsciousness, you hear Raph calling your name, and tears falling from his eyes.

"Y-Y/N!"
