Separation: Part 1
You hear.. voices...
Faint...
Anxious...
Shouting to wake up...
It's one person's voice, gruff and frantic, hands grasping and shaking your shoulders, slowly drawing you out of unconsciousness.
"Y/n! Wake up! Wake up, dam—crap!" An explosion goes off in the background.
You jolt awake with the second hit to the ship, nose to nose with wide eyed Raphael.
"What hit us?" You demand, eyes cold and determined.
"We're not sure, but they're hitting hard." He replies, his cheeks tinted red but his mind concentrated on the task at hand. He helps you up, and your hands immediately press on your throbbing skull. "You ok, princess?" He asks you.
You simply groan in response and rub the forming bump on your head. Another fire at your vessel sends you stumbling forward into Raph's arms. While you remain indifferent to this, his face bursts crimson. You stand straight and rush past him to the bridge, leaving him dumbfounded.
"What's going on?!" You shout, skidding to a halt in the control room.
"We're not sure; the ship is unidentifiable!" The Fugitoid explains, tapping buttons as he steers the ship to avoid the blasts raining on them.
You stumble forward and grab a hold of the railing, eyeing the screen ahead of you as the ship comes into view.
A beautiful, large ship, with multiple worn, yet sturdy cream colored sails, tall masts and golden brown wood decks, and hidden engines to keep it afloat in the sea of space. A flag flies high, one you instantly recognize from historical pictures. Every ship from this thieving, dishonorable group flies this flag on their masts...
"Space Pirates." You growl, your knuckles turning white as you clench the railing. "Quick! Turn, now!" You shout.
The Professor nods and makes a hard right turn, sending the ship sideways. Thankfully the ships inner gravity keeps everyone upright, and you narrowly dodge a head-on blast from the assaulting ship.
"Donatello! The engine room is badly damaged! You must go down and make repairs!" The Professor instructs anxiously. Donnie nods and runs out just as Raphael stumbles in and toward the weapons controls.
"Who the heck are these guys?!" He snaps, finding it nearly impossible to hit the large, yet incredibly agile space ship.
"Space Pirates! One of the worst! The Dragons Delight, commandeered by Captain Medusa Xix." You growl. "The most deadly, merciless Captain in all of space."
"And he can certainly steer a ship!" The Professor huffs in annoyance as they take another hit.
"She," you correct him.
"He, she, it, whatever!" Raph snaps. "Let's just blow 'em outta space!"
No sooner does he say that, does a large blast shake the ship down to its frame, knocking everyone off balance.
You fall to the floor, undoubtedly badly bruising your shoulder in the process. The lights flicker and shut off, leaving you blind. In the darkness, you see white eyes, making your heart thump with nervousness.
"You ok?" You hear Raph ask you from behind, and a firm but gentle hand grasping your forearm to lift you up to your feet. You nod slowly, unable to see anything.
"Yes, thank you—"
Everyone freezes when they hear a loud clang. The ship was being boarded.
As everyone remains still and silent, Donatello slips into the control room, although you don't know this until he speaks in a low whisper.
"They blew out the power. I managed to direct the backup to the necessary stuff; air, power to the engines... but I'm not sure how long it will last."
"I can't see a single thing!" Casey groans, stumbling around.
"Ow! Casey!" April huffs. "That was my foot!"
"You guys look so funny, stumbling and tripping over each other." Mikey giggles from the side.
The Fugitoid steps up and opens his eyes, which act like flashlights and allow you to see once again. Faint, heavy footsteps echo throughout the ship as the pirates explore for treasure and prisoners. You shuffle back slightly, your back pressing against Raphael's plastron.
They walk closer...
And closer...
"Lay down your weapons! We outnumber you ten-to-one!" A commanding, female voice calls out.
"We are unarmed!" The Professor replies, watching the door as he and everyone else shuffle backwards.
The doors are forced open, loud scuffling and grumbling as pirates walk in. The Fugitoid scans his eyes over them, observing the rugged, tough and monstrous-looking aliens surrounding what seems to be a pirate princess: Captain Medusa.
"Y/n. Our fates have intertwined once more," Medusa smirks, her beaded dreadlocks spilling over her red headband and on to her shoulders. You watch her stride forward confidently, her boots softly clip-clopping on the white floors. The handle of her silver sword glints in the light of The Professor's eyes, and a triumphant, arrogant smirk plays at her plump lips. "Do tell me, princess, what are you doing amongst this band of ruffians? They are barely any better than my crew!" A merry laugh spills from her lips, shared with the crew mates jolly, low, seemingly genuine laughter.
"That is for me to know, and you to never find out." You reply coldly, crossing your arms.
Medusa lets out a low, blasé chuckle, stepping closer with a swaying posture. (Think Captain Jack Sparrow's walk) She eyes Raphael with a raised eyebrow in intrigue.
"Is this your beloved, m'dear?" She withdraws her sword and presses the flat side of the tip underneath Raph's chin. He remains strong and unaffected by her actions. "I have to say... I didn't expect you to be entangled with mutants, but he doesn't look half-bad." She circles around him, checking him out. "Quite the booty." She chuckles, earning roaring laughter from her crew. You simply roll your eyes in disgust and huff, while Raph glances at you for your reaction.
After Captain Medusa examines the rest of your 'crew', she walks back to hers and whispers something to one. As you expected, one grabs you and drags you out with Medusa. But to your surprise, they grab Raphael as well. Keeping you painfully restrained, then take you and Raph aboard her ship, and detach from the Fugitoid's.
"Destroy it. No survivors." Medusa commands.
Your eyes widen. Panic fills your mind, and words spill out of your mouth before you can think.
"NO! TYRA, DON'T!" You shout, struggling in the grip of the alien holding you back.
Tyra whirls around to you and growls aggressively, her dreadlocks spinning around with her and falling around her face.
"You will address me as Ma'am, Capt'n Medusa, or Captain!" She barks. "I will not tolerate loose tongues on my ship!"
And at that, she turns her back to you, while you watch helplessly as the cannons open fire on your only way home, and Raph shouts out with fury and fear for his family...
