Foiled Again
It takes you longer than you care to admit to escape your prison, and in the process you zap yourself three times, resulting in a few unpleasant red marks on your otherwise pale skin. You're surprised that the comical bunch doesn't stumble in the room while you're making your getaway, and wonder if perhaps they're as stupid as they look.
Once you're out you don't waste a moment to look for a new hiding spot, all while listening closely for the ship's crew. No more than a minute of sneaking around, you hear footsteps and a conversation drawing near. You quickly slip into the shadows and hide in a small cabinet, which is far more cramped and stuffy than the one you were found in before.
"I can't believe she slipped right out from under our noses!" You hear the gruff one, Raphael, shout with exasperation. "We had her monitored, Donnie was sitting right there!"
"Calm down Raph. She's still on the ship," the calm one speaks, who's name you have forgotten amidst all this chaos. "We'll find her," he assures him.
A quiet mumbling of "ok" can be heard before the two walk away. Still, you wait several more minutes before crawling out of hiding and sneaking through the bleach white walls. As you grow closer to the control room, you suddenly realize you have no idea what you're going to do once you arrive there. And what if they find you? Of course you'll fight, but after that, what? While the possibility that you can steer this vessel isn't enormously low, you haven't a clue where you are, what type of vessel you're on...—
"No..." you whisper. "Act first, ask later. Do not over think your next ten moves... focus on the next three..." you murmur as you march to the control room with a strong stride. As you walk in, you spy a flash of red and yellow. Your mind begins to race, but you stop it and do as told; act first, ask later.
April doesn't even see your fist speeding towards her face, and you wear a proud smirk for a moment. But as soon as April hits the floor, Casey has tackled and pinned you down. You grunt, squirm and struggle to no avail as the others, including sore-jawed April, crowd around you with cold looks.
"Did your highness enjoy our game of hide 'n seek?" Raphael teases as something pricks your neck. Your answer does not come out as you suddenly pass out.
'I hate these guys...' you mentally groan before you fall completely unconscious.
Again, you awaken seemingly seconds later with a splitting headache, and the urge to dispense of your meager breakfast. This time, it is only 'Raph' that stands outside your prison, bearing a stern expression.
"Enjoy your beauty sleep, princess?" He sneers, his expression unchanging. You simply scoff and sit up.
"Perhaps you are not as stupid as I once believed. It's difficult to ambush a Star-Dweller," you observe with a curt nod of respect.
"Yeah, and you're not just any Star-Dweller, huh?" He steps closer to the glass separating you from him. "Princess Starlight, daughter of D/n and M/n Starlight."
You raise your eyebrow inquiringly, hiding all evidence of shock that they figured out your identity.
"Princess?" You repeat with fake confusion. Your mind races for a remark to throw him off, and after a moment, you procure an idea and chuckle. "If this is your way of flirting, you'll need to do better than that," you inform him with a slight grin.
'That should work..' you think with confidence. 'Hopefully.'
While Raphael's cheeks turn a bit pink, he shrugs your comment off.
"I'm not that stupid, sweetheart," he says while pulling up a hologram of your parents together. "You're the spitting image of your mom."
You look at the hologram and heave a deep sigh of defeat.
"Very well... I confess. I am Y/n Starlight, the next heir to Lumina Stellar," you pause and look straight into his eyes with an intense stare. "And I am on a mission to save my home planet."
He snorts with amusement.
"Well, what a small galaxy it is, so are we," he replies, leaning on the wall and crossing his arms.
You appear a bit surprised, but quickly shift your expression to neutral again. After all, for all you know the crew could be working for... her.
"The Triceritons are planning to destroy Earth in a little less than six months," Raph explains, examining you closely. "What's endangering your planet?" He queries.
You bite the inside of your cheek as you consider your options. On one hand, if you tell the truth they might release and possibly help you... on the other, they could be corrupt, parallel to your planet's army, and revealing your situation could send you straight back to Lumina Stellar in chains. Your gaze had dropped to the floor while you thought, and now you lift it up to study 'Raph'. He holds a gruff, strong façade, but you sense something more underneath... pain, loss.. and fear.
"My Aunt has overthrown my parents, and plans to gather her forces from the Exile Lands to slaughter every pure-hearted Star-Dweller, and repopulate Lumina Stellar with her own offspring while enforcing the old rules of our people," you finally answer straightforwardly, watching Raph's face once you've finished.
Needless to say, he is shocked.
Up on the bridge, everyone is listening in on the interrogation. Once you come clean on your mission, all eyes are wide and jaws hanging.
"Dude, this is even cooler than Star Wars!" Mikey exclaims excitedly, high-fiving the equally excited Casey Jones.
