Chapter 1

~~~~~~~~Nathan's POV:~~~~~~~~
I couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that the girl I loved  — and still do — was gone.
I reminisced in the memories of her beautiful smile, the way she laughed at my jokes with her adorable giggle, the way she would survingut her needs aside in preparation for and during a battle as well as the way she saved everyone but herself  in the final battle being the brave, selfless person that she was.
I felt lost in this world now that she was gone. Everything seemed like gray blurs to me, like surviving had become a more hellish chore.
I don't eat like I used to. At the most, I would have a small bowl of cereal once a day if I felt up to it, however as time passed a bowl become a meagre handful of cereal a day.
I felt empty, disorientated, like a bottomless jar. Months, weeks, days and hour flew past like an incomprehensible blur.
My friends called me daily, yet I would never answer — there was no point I was tired of hearing the same old "how are you?" and "I heard what happened, I'm sorry about what happened".
Sometimes they'd bring some food and such over for me and ring the doorbell expecting me to open the front door with open arms, but that was another thing I ceased to do, instead I ignored them until they went away, that way they would leave it on the steps before leaving. I hardly ever came out of my room unless It was to collect food or use the bathroom. I've never felt this way before. I've lost pets and people that I've become close to but never like this.
         ~~~~~~~~Maggie's POV:~~~~~~~~

The one thing I could remember was my name: Maggie Jane Deboye. I couldn't recall anything else and if I tried I would end up with a terrible migraine. I felt like an empty shell of the person who I once was, even though I couldn't remember what I was like, how I felt about things or where I was from.

I know that I am no longer your everyday run-of-the-mill sort of girl any more, but I did know that I am different from everyone else but in what way I was unsure of.

~~~~~~~~Nathan's POV:~~~~~~~~
I sobbed as I hugged her body close to mine wishing that I could've saved her, that I could've stopped this.
She had the darkest, and most amazing, blue eyes that melted my heart with every look and set fire to me — figuratively speaking of course, the curliest caramel brown hair, and the cutest smile in the world. She could lift the spirits of every person in a room just with her presence but she also had the power to make a room seem like a funeral was about to take place.
Her alluring alabaster skin complimented her caramel hair and prussian blue eyes, making her the prettiest person in a room no matter who was there. He looked at her body again, thinking of the last words that she has muttered before she passed.
"Do you promise to look after everyone for me, can you do that just for me, Nathan?" she asked in a small and strained voice, while smiling as the last time I would ever hear her voice slipped away. Her eyes had sparkled with love and compassion for the everyone that she held dear. Slowly, I felt her go limp in my arms, It was then that I knew then that she was gone forever. I looked at her body, her pale skin quickly turning into a grayish hue, and her eyes that were once full of emotions and compassion now empty and blank.
I set her down gently on the ground; looking over her body again, frantically searching for signs of life but finding nothing. All I saw was blood covering her abdomen and spreading like wild fire, pooling under her. I lent down and closed her eyes with my hand while kissing her forehead, before standing up straight.
"Yes, I can. I promise, Maggie." I said as tears pooled around my eyes and fell like rain drops.
