Winter P.O.V

The next three weeks that followed, I was dreading the day that Jayden had to leave for boot camp... I tried to prepare myself but when the day came; it was the worst feeling of sadness you can imagine.. Losing your everything and possibly not getting him back..

I was at Jayden's while he got ready and I was sitting on the couch, cross legged and with a blank look in my eyes. I felt numb, like the world wasn't real. I looked up when Jayden walked out in his Air Force assigned uniform; he looked better than ever... I felt the tears prickle the back of my eyes as I jumped up and ran to my everything, I clung to him, sobbing, saying, "Don't leave me..." He held me, whispered to me, "It'll be okay... I'll be back before you know it..." I shook my head into his chest, trembling. I realized that I couldn't stop him.. I realized that he'd go, that no one could stop him.. I realized that I'd be broken but I'd be mended again; hopefully... I let go of Jayden and looked up at him, he grabbed my chin gently and kissed me slowly and passionately. I knew he'd come back, it might not be soon, but he will.. My Jayden, my fighter, would come back...

When he broke away he looked into my eyes, his own shining with tears he wasn't willing to let me see, and whispered, "I love you, Snowy.. I'll see you soon..." I smiled a little and nodded slightly, "I-I love you, too, Jayden... S-so much.." He smiled sadly at me and kisses my forehead, "Don't lose yourself, Winter... For me, never stop being you..." I blushed and my smile grew sad but I nodded. He kissed me one last time before takin my hand and we walked out of his house and I saw the bus that would take Jayden to boot camp. I wiped my eyes and hugged Jayden one last time. "I love you, Jayden. Be careful.." He hugged me back, "I love you, too.. And I will.." We broke apart when the horn beeped and he waved at me as he got on the bus and I smiled a little at him. The bus drove away and I walked home, my thoughts never leaving Jayden.

That night I clung to the Spongebob plush and all of a sudden I heard it, "Come on, babe, say something!" My voice... I heard a small laugh, then, "I love you, Snowy." Jayden's voice... I pressed it again and listen to his voice on a loop, wondering when he'd come back to me. Wondering if he'd be okay. Wondering if he'd be killed.. I had nightmares that night, of Jayden being shot... The nightmare was continuous and it seemed to go in slow motion...
