Winter P.O.V

I was jittery with excitement while Jayden and I were screwing around and being stupid while waiting to fill the Spongebob, we kept getting weird looks from the parents and the staff workers and for the first time, the looks didn't bother me.. I felt like I could do anything when I was with him. I smiled up at him and laughed a little, picking up one of the hearts you can put in that records and pressed the RECORD button. "Come on, babe, say something!" I giggled and held it up to Jayden's face. He chuckled and said, "I love you, Snowy." I pressed the STOP button and hugged Jayden, whispering, "I love you, too.." His arms quickly wrapped around me and I could tell something was wrong. But it wasn't the time or place for asking him about it.

By the time we left Build-a-Bear, I was holding a fluffy Spongebob and smiling ear to ear. Jayden laughed lightly and kissed my forehead, an arm wrapped around my shoulders, "You're so adorable, you know that?" I blushed, "That's a funny joke, tell it again-"  I said and then I heard familiar voices from school that were whispered as we passed the food court. "I bet you she paid him to date her." They said, and, "Yep, Jayden would never go for someone like that." I unwrapped one of my arms from the Spongebob and hooked it around Jayden's waist tightly, putting my face in his shoulder. I'm not paying him... He's with me because... Because why? I don't see anything in me that would interest anyone...

When we got home I went to put the Spongebob on my bed and ran back downstairs, saying hi to Josh and Grace then walking back out with my hair she to get back in Jayden's truck to go to his house. I walked in and while I waited for him I saw an opened envelope with an American Air Force stamp on it... What in the...

"I'll be back, I'm going to change." Jayden said as he walked back to his room. I snatched the envelope up and opened it again with shaky hands. I read the letter to myself,

Dear Jayden West,

We regret to inform you of a needed military draft for a dilemma over seas and extended military personnel is needed. You have been drafted to be on the front lines as a pilot. Please be present at book amp when we reach you by phone telling you the date.

Sincerely, Commander Jones.

I felt sick.... Jayden.... Going to the Air Force..? Leaving me..? Possibly not coming back..? I couldn't believe this.

As soon as the thought crossed my mind, Jayden walked back out, "Hey have you-" his face took on a look of guilt and sadness as he saw the letter. I held it up, and said, my voice eerily calm, "When were you going to tell me...?"  His voice came out thick with emotion, "T-tonight... You just... Beat me to it..." I got up and dropped the letter, running to him and hugging him tightly, my tears almost making their way down my cheeks.

His arms wrapped tightly around me as his hand tangled in the back of my hair, pulling my head into his chest. I whispered, "D-Don't leave me..." His breath caught and I felt warm drops on my shoulder, "I... I have to go... I'm sorry, Snowy..." I swallowed hard to hold back tears as I took fistfuls of the back of his shirt. I knew he was serious.. I knew I couldn't change his mind but... He was only 17 and he was being made to go into the army for a freaking military draft... This wasn't happening... It's just a dream...
