Tails' POV

I kept running, terrified that I would get caught. Usually I was able to run through with Sonic, leaving all our worries with the wind. But I wasn't with Sonic. I didn't have the same skill set as him or amounts of bravery and fearlessness. I ran down several halls before I noticed that nobody was around. 

No robots, no guards. Nothing. I heard voices so I put my ear against the door to hear Sonic, and several others. Mainly Sonic and Kianna. I saw a nearby vent so I got my drone to fly through it. My drone flew into the room on the other side of the door to see Kianna going towards Sonic, clearly angry, then Eggman shooting lasers at Kianna. Kianna dodged the first few, then she started barely dodging them. Sonic looked like he was going to do something, but what?

Sonic's POV 

I watched Kianna as she was nearly getting hit several times. One laser brushed off of her shoulder and she fell to the ground, holding her arm. Her arm was burned and it was bleeding. She whimpered. Eggman aimed his lazer gun at her.

"Say goodbye…" Eggman said. She put her hands over her face and eyes like I did and she closed her eyes tightly. 

He pulled the trigger.

"NO!"

A flash of blue.

"SONIC!"
