Sonic's POV  

My back collided with the water, creating a slapping sound and stinging pain on my back. We sunk, but I pushed us both up and our heads broke the surface, gasping for breath. 

"What's going on?! Why did you jump?!" I pounded her with questions when she could breathe normally again.

"I have a better question, why would you do that?!?!" Kianna retorted with her own question.

"To save you!"

"From what?!" 

"From jumping!!!!" 

"You're joking, right?" Kianna asked. "You told me to jump."

"What? I never did that!" I yelled. 

"YES YOU DID!!!" 

We both went underwater again. I saw some driftwood and pulled it towards us. Me and Kianna grabbed it, surfacing and gasping for air again. I noticed a yellow blob in the air, and Kianna seemed to see it, too. 

"I wonder what type of cotton candy that is." Kianna said. I laughed. "Banana." Kianna decided.

"It's not cotton candy. It's…" I looked up at it and tried to make out what it was. 

"TAILS!!!!" We both yelled at the same time. Tails hovered in the air above us. 

"Who's first?" Tails asked. Kianna pointed at me. 

"Him."

"But, Kianna-"

"Take him already, Tails!" Kianna shouted. A wave then splashed me and Kianna, Tails flying higher to avoid it. 

We grabbed the log again and Kianna coughed. Then I noticed something. The log was now in two pieces. The waves were pulling Kianna away from me.

"Kianna!!" I screamed. The waves were monsters, lying in wait for their prey to stumble within reach.

"Don't worry, I'll be-" A huge wave swept over her and dragged her down. She popped up again and grabbed her half of the log. "-fine!!!" Kianna finished. "But I can't swim, If I lose the wood, I'll drown!!!"

Duly noted!!!" I shouted back, internally panicking. Tails grabbed me and headed for the cliff.

Kianna's POV 

They headed for the cliff, leaving me alone. I watched Tails land, not noticing the wave creeping up behind me. It pounced, breaking my life-line up even more. I coughed and gasped for breath as I popped back up.

"KIANNA!!!" Sonic yelled somewhere above me.

"I'M FINE!!!" I yelled back through coughs. Another wave sent me underwater again. That's when I noticed that I was close to a small, sandy beach. Also known as shore. 

'If only my feet could touch the ground…' I tried to swim towards the shore, but I can't swim. 

Werehog and Tails noticed, grabbing a long, sturdy branch and full-on running to my aid. My foot grazed a smooth, glowing rock as the branch was extended within my arms reach.

I grabbed it and was pulled to shore, gasping for breath and face-planting into the sweet sand.

"How'd you guys end up in the ocean, anyways?" Tails asked, panting.

"Sonic told me to jump, then he asks me why I jumped." I told the fox.

"I didn't-" Sonic exclaimed, but Tails interrupted him. 

"Why don't you tell us what happened up until you jumped?" I nodded. 

"Well… I ran off from the Campsite for… Certain reasons, and then…" 

Flashback time!

I cried as I ran away from the Campsite. "They're the worst. Who needs them, anyways?!" I started to slow down after a while. "If only Werehog was here. At least he cares."

"Guess I came at the right time, didn't I?" A familiar voice asked. I turned around to see Werehog.

"Werehog!!!" I hugged him. "There's this guy at the Campsite, I forget his name, but he sometimes works for Eggman and Ponytail is falling head over heels for him!" I explained through my sobs.

"I don't think that's the problem." He replied, his voice hard and stint instead of the comforting tone I know.

"W-what do you mean?" I hesitantly asked.

"The truth is, I hate you, Kianna. I always have. Because of you, everything bad has happened. I tried to help you, but you're useless." I started crying again. 

"Please! Don't hate me! You're the only person I have!" I wailed

"How about this. You jump off the cliff and kill yourself to end MY misery and I won't hate you. Deal?" He mercilessly compromised.

"But I'll be dead. How will you be able to not hate me then?"

"I won't hate you in memory. Besides, I'm dying every time I look at your face. After everything I did for you, it's only fair." He said, looking me dead in the eyes.

"What if I don't do it..?" I asked.

"Then I'll return you to Eggman. Or I'll kill you myself." He growled.

"N-no… W-where's the cliff..?" I asked. Werehog smiled. 

"Keep walking straight for ten minutes. Remember, don't let anybody or ANYTHING stop you. And remember, you're doing it for me. You'd do anything for me, right?"

"Right!"

"Then go kill yourself so I don't have to live in pain for the rest of my life!" He flung out his arm, pointing to where I needed to go.

"Ok!" I happily cheered, running to where the cliff was. When I was out of his ear and sight range, I collapsed on the ground and started crying. 

"Hurry up, already!" He yelled. I whimpered and nodded. Then I headed for the cliff.

End of flashback

"Kianna, I would NEVER say those things to you." Werehog told me.

"R-really..?" 

"Of course! Somebody was probably pretending to be me. I'd say Neo was." Then they both gasped.

"What?" I asked.

"Is it possible for your wings to grow back..? And your horn..?" Sonic asked, his eyes wide with shock.

"I don't know… Why..?" 

"Because they grew back."

"What?!?!" I asked. I looked over my shoulder to see newly regrown feathery wings with swirls of color decorating each side, making them shimmer in the afternoon sun.

"...wow.." Werehog spoke up. "Rainbow suits you, you should wear it more often, you're beautiful!"

I looked up at him, my eyes filling with tears, "Y-you really think so?"

He smiled and cupped my face with one ginormous hand. "I know so."

I looked away. "No one's ever called me or my wings beautiful before…"

"That's what boyfriends are for, aren't they?" He asked gently.

"Wait… boyfriend?"

"Yes, Kianna, I love you." Sonic finally admitted.

I stared at him in shock before a smile played on my lips. "I love you too, Sonic the Werehog!" Sonic smiled and leaned in for a kiss. But before our lips could collide: 

"Objective: Destroy"
