Maddie stopped the car in front of her house before her and Five stepped out of the car and he looked at her house.

It was bigger than he had expected.

"What?" Maddie asked as soon as as she saw the look Five's face had "You live here?" he asked "Yeah" she said "It's not what I expected" he said "What did you expect, that I was living in a cardboard box under a tree in a park?" Maddie asked and Five let out a chuckled "No" he said.

Maddie pulled up her keys and opened the door before they entered.

As soon as she entered she whistled "What are you doing?" Five asked "Just wait" she said and a few seconds later, the sound of a door that opened was heard and Freddy walked out before he looked down at them from upstairs and whistled back before him and Maddie smiled to each other.

"You two still doing that" Five said with a smile "We are still doing that" Maddie said and Five smiled. He was glad that the whistled things haven't changed, and they were still doing it even after he disappeared.

Freddy then walked downstairs towards them "Good you both are here, I was getting wor--" he said but stopped himself when he saw that Five had a cut on his arm "What happen?" he asked worried "He will be fine. Would you mind getting the first aid kit?" she asked "Of course not" Freddy said and took off to get the first aid kit.

Five's eyes widened as he saw how huge the house was inside as they walked into the living room.

"Wow" he said "Impressive?" she asked "Yeah, how did you afford this?" Five asked "Once a week, Fred and I visit a bar called 'The Golden fish' You asked them about work and they give you a golden card with only a name and a last name on, someone they want to disappear or making them stop doing what they have being accuse of. They actually pay you good, if you do a good job" Maddie said "You are an assassin?" Five asked "No, I am a person that do a job that make other people feel safe again and if I was an assassin, then I only kill bad guys. Because I don't mind killing to save someone else's life especially if it someone I love. Sometimes is kill or be killed" Maddie said "Understandable" Five said.

"When dad kicked me out, he told me that he wouldn't allow me to used any more of his money and I told him that I could make it without his money, but he just laughed at me, telling me good luck. But as you can see I have prove him wrong, I can take care of myself" Maddie said "I have seen that" Five said with a smile.

It didn't take long before Freddy came back with the first aid kit and Five sat down on the couch as Maddie sat down on a chair close to him.

She pulled his sleeve up and started cleaning the wound.

He didn't flinch as it didn't hurt on him.

He looked at her, he was glad that nothing have changed since he left, he was scared that she would be angry at him or that she have moved on, but no, she still cared about him a lot and she wasn't angry at him, just worried.

Five looked at his cut before he looked up at her.

He glanced at her, keeping his gaze as she kept cleaning his cut.

Everytime he looked at her or was just near her, his feelings grow stronger, he was acting sweet and soft when he was around her. He could feel that now when he was with her, his humanity was slowly coming back.

"How did you get it?" Freddy asked "Some armed guys attack us at a café and after we have taking care of them, Five cut up his arm to take out a tracker" Maddie said "Who were those guy and why were they after you?" Freddy asked "Yeah, I like to know that too" Maddie said and looked at Five who was looking down.

"Five, I care about you very much and I trust you with my life, but how do you expect me to trust you, if don't tell me the truth and is keeping things for me" Maddie said and Five sighed "We promised to tell each other everything, so you need to tell me the truth. Who were those guys?" she asked.

Five took a deep breath "Alright, I will tell, but you gotta promise me that you wouldn't freak out and still be there for me" he said "Of course, I promise not to freak out and still be there for you" Maddie said "Me too" Freddy said and Five took a deep breath.

"Alright. You know how I got stuck in the future and therefore couldn't go back" Five said and Maddie nodded "But that wasn't all. I jumped forward to the future and you know what I found?" he asked and she shook her head "Nothing. Nothing at all" he said and took a deep breath "The world ends in eight days and I don't know how to stop it" he said causing Maddie's and Freddy's eyes to widen "What?" they said almost shouting "You promised not to freak out" Five said and Maddie took a deep breath.

"The only thing I found out was the date the apocalypse happen" Five said "In eight days" Maddie said and Five nodded.

"What happen with us?" Maddie asked and Five looked at her, before he looked down not saying anything, he didn't want to tell Maddie the truth about what happen to her cause it were still haunting him, and he still saw it every time he closed his eyes.

Freddy narrowed his eyes at Five, he think that there was something he was not telling them.

"I came back to stop the apocalypse and be with you" Five said "And that is why those guys were after you?" Maddie asked and Five nodded "The company I was working for, are trying to stop me from saving the world and stopping the apocalypse" Five said "What kind of company did you work for?" she asked "Its name 'The Commission'. They monitor all times and space to make sure that whatever is supposed to happen...happens. Their job is to protect the timeline. And if someone is messing with the timeline, they sent agent like me out to kill them. So the timeline don't changed. And I became the best of them. During my time at the Commission, I was taught every skill that would be necessary to fulfill the missions assigned to me, like picking locks" he said "So you are an assassin?" she asked and he nodded "I was" he said before he lifted his head to look at her.

"I never like it Maddie. I was good at my work, and I took pride in it. But it never gave me pleasure, never, not once. But it was either that or being stuck in the apocalypse and never get the chance to get back to our family, to you" he said as he stared into her eyes "I'm sorry Maddie. I don't want you to think of me as a monster or a killer" he said as he looked down and she could see the sadness in his eyes and hear it in his voice.

"Hey" she said as she put her finger under his chin before she lifted his head so he was looking at her "I will never think of you as a monster or a killer, Five. Never. Yes, you murdered people but only for the greater good of the universe. You only kill people to protect the one you love just like I would do. And if you hadn't taking that job, you wouldn't be here" she said and he smiled as they stared into each other's eyes.

"Other than nothing, I found this" he said and took a prosthetic eye out of his pocket before he showed it to Maddie "The one who owns this eye is going to be the cause of the apocalypse" he said "That was why you needed that address" Maddie said and Five nodded "Alright, I will help you" Maddie said and Five looked at her "Would you do that for me?" he asked "Yeah, I gave you a promise that I will always be there for you, so of course I will help you" Maddie said "Me too" Freddy said and Five smiled as he looked into Maddie's eyes.

"But we need to tell the others too, they need to know" Freddy said "And we will tell them but not now, first we need to go to that address" Five said "And we will, but first you need to rest. We both need our strength for tomorrow" Maddie said and Five looked at her "We will save the world together" she said and took his hands "The heart and the head" Maddie said and Five smiled "The heard and the heart" he said.

Freddy smiled as he saw them holding hands.

"You can borrow the guest room in there" Maddie said and pointed on a door behind the couch. Five nodded before they looked into each other's eyes with a smile.

Five was so happy being with her again, she was still the same she was when he left, still clever, still sweet, still supporting, still a badass, still wonderful and still beautiful. Nothing seems to have change between them, not even their feelings for each other, they were still there for each other and still a pretty good team.

Five opened his eyes and he saw that he was back in the apocalypse. Everything around him was destroyed, dust was kinda falling from the sky and flying around in the air and small flames was burning different places.

Five stood frozen as he was blinking a few times with his eyes not knowing if this was real.

His eyes then felled on the Academy that was in ruins and he ran over to the rubble "MADDIE. MADDIE!" he shouted but no answer.

He went through the rubble as he kept shouting her name.

Suddenly he spotted a body laying a little bit further away. Five ran over but froze when he saw it was his good friend and beloved brother Freddy causing Five's face to fall and tears started showing in his eyes.

Freddy was laying on his stomach with his eyes opened. Cuts and dirt was on his face while he had blood running out of his mouth and down his nose.

Seeing him laying there, Five froze and he just stared at the body for a minute before he walked closer. Even so Freddy first came into the family later, Five saw him as his brother even so that in the beginning Five didn't really like him at all and he was jealous at him became he didn't like the bond there was between Freddy and Maddie, but it didn't take long before some sense came to his head and he started liking and caring about him and he started seeing him as a brother and the two actually became close thanks to Maddie.

"Fred" Five said, sobbing while he felled down on his knees.

Five put a hand over Freddy's eyes and slid his hand down, closing Freddy's eyes "I'm so sorry, brother. You must have died trying to protect Maddie and the others" Five said sobbing "I'm sure you did everything you could. I'm sorry I wasn't here"

But suddenly Five heard something behind Freddy's body. He looked up and saw a pile of rubbles moving. He stood up as he looked at the pile and suddenly he saw a hand moving under the rubbles. It was a woman's hand and he spotted something shiny next to the hand. It was a silver locket and Five's eyes widened when he saw the locket.

"MADDIE" he shouted while rushing over to the rubbles "Maddie, it's me, don't worry, I will get you out" he said as he started to push off the rubbles.

It was hard since most of the rubbles was heavy. But he didn't gave up and it didn't take long before he managed to remove enough of the rubbles to get to Maddie.

When he removed the last rubble, he saw Maddie laying on her stormach. "Maddie" he said as he grabbed her and turned her around before he put her on his lap as he sat down on the ground.

But I'm scared of what life without you's like

She was still breathing, but her breath was weak. Just like Freddy, she also had small cuts and dirt on her face and clothes.

So how do I say goodbye
To someone who's been with me for my whole damn life?

It then came to his mind, Freddy must have been trying to protect Maddie from whoever did this. He died trying to protect someone he cared about, he died like a hero.

So how do I, how do I, how do I say goodbye?

Then Maddie grabbed his hand causing Five to look at her "Hey Maddie, it's me. It's Five" he said as she opened her eyes but they were only half opened.

"Five" she said weak "Yeah, it's me. I'm here, you are gonna be okay" Five said sobbing "You came back" she said "Yeah, I did, I'm so sorry for leaving. I'm so sorry" he said with tears in his eyes.

"You are gonna make it" he tighten Maddie's hand "You are gonna make it" he repeated. She sent him her kind smile while he tighten his grib on her hand to force her to stay awake "No, Maddie. Please don't. You can't die. You can't leave me" his voice breaking. He didn't care about the tears that had appeared in his eyes. 

Maddie tighten her grib on his hand. She took a deep breath even so it took all her strength to do that.    

She then lifted her hand and rip off her locket that Five had giving her when they were kids "Here, take this as a memory of me, it will guide you and give you strength, just like it did to me" she said and Five grabbed her hand that was holding the locket.

"Don't forget me" she said "No, never, I will never forget you, no matter what" Five said with tears in his eyes and Maddie let out a small smile before she place her hand on his left cheek and he grabbed the hand while a tear rolled down from his eyes.

She wipe away his tear with her thumb "Don't cry, we will see each other again. You are gonna fix this, I know you can. I believe in you and I always will" she said with a small smile.

So how do I say goodbye

But then her breath started faded in "No, please, Maddie, don't leave me, I need you, I wouldn't last a day without you" Five said "I will always be with you. Promise me that you will live for me" she said "No, I can't make it without you. I just can't...I can't...I--" "Promise me" she said, cutting him off "Alright, I promise I will live for you" he said and she smiled while he let out a sob.

"No" he said "It's okay. It's okay" she said "Maddie" he said "It's okay, it's okay" she said again as she started breathing heavily "It's perfect. I'm in the arm of my first and only love. The first and only person I will ever loved this much. The person I always have and always will love" she said as she took a deep breath.

So how do I, how do I, how do I say goodbye?

She looked into his green eyes "I love you, always and forever" she said before she sent him a small smile and she closed her eyes before her hand felled down on the ground as she stopped breathing.

"Maddie. Hey. Hey!" Five said as he looked at her "Hey, Maddie, hey" he said, as her eyes was closed and she had stopped breathing. Her head had falling to the side and she have become heavier in his arms.

He then started sobbing "Maddie. Hey" he said as he looked at her, her eyes was closed and her head had falling back, "Breathe" he said but she didn't move.

He quickly shed a tear from the corner of his eyes. He wasn't a person who cries easily, yeah he can be soft but he is never a crier but this time he could feel his whole body shaking and his heart breaking and he couldn't hold back his tears anymore.

"Hey" he said again before he took a deep breath "You're okay. Maddie" he said and tears started falling down from his eyes as he stroke his hand through her hair "Stay with me. Stay with me. Stay with me, stay with me. You stay with me" he kept saying, but she didn't opened her eyes, instead her nose started bleeding.

So how do I, how do I, how do I say goodbye?

"Maddie. Maddie!" he said crying, his head knew that she was gone, but his heart didn't wanted to accept it and for every breath he took, he felt that he was getting a knife stabbed through his heart.

"No, please, please. Please" he cried and leaned his head closer to hers while he kept sobbing "I can't do this without you" he whispered as he kept crying "I need you"

His tears streamed down his cheeks, it hurt too much to hold back.

"No" there it was again, but this time it wasn't just a whisper. No. This time the simple word held every emotion he felt in that second.

"No, no, no, no, no" he repeated while sobbing as he stared down at his entire reason for living.

He then lifted her head up and press it against his chest while tears was running down from his eyes. He could feel the pain about losing the person he loved the most. It hurt more than getting a knife stab through the heart. His best friend, his reason to live, the happiness to his sadness, his other half, the love of his life, was laying dead in his arms "No, please don't leave me" he cried.

This couldn't be it, this wasn't real, this couldn't be happing. He was supposed to protect her, but he failed, if he just could have being here, if he haven't jumped through time, so he got stuck, he would be able to save her and this wouldn't have happened.

But it had happen and he felt like it was his fault.

"It's supposed to be you and me damn it. Us against the world. Together. The dynamic duo. The heart and the head. You and me, Five and Maddie, always and forever" he sob as he sat on the ground, cradling Maddie in his lap.

He cried for what seems like hours before he pulled away to look at her. He noticed how some of her blood was on his hands, and that make him feel sick through his stomach.

Standing on the platform, watching you go
It's like no other pain I've ever known

"Please wake up. I beg you, please, you are my everything and I need you. Please wake up, it's me your Jumpy Guy, your Coffee Boy, your Short Pants, your Pretty Boy, your Fivey" he said as he stroke his hand down her cheek and he could feel that her skin was already starting getting cold.

To love someone so much, to have no control
You said, "I want to see the world", and I said, "Go"

He started stroking his hand through her hair while tears fell from his eyes making some of them to fell down on her.

Never in his life has he cried this much, he miss her so much already. Her touch, her hug, her eyes, her laugh, her voice and more. He miss everything about her. He wanted her, and only her, but he knew that she was gone.

"No, this is a nightmare, you're having a nightmare, you're having a bad dream, this isn't real. Wake up, Five. Wake up" he said inside his head as he tried to pinch himself to wake up, but he felt it, he felt the pinch like a knife going through his heart, meaning that this was not a dream, it was real.

Five kept crying and sobbing as he started slowly rocking her body back and fourth, while he was mourning over her death and he started breathing heavily while his breaths was shaking as all the memories he shared with Maddie appeared in his head. Her laugh, her voice, her eyes and her smile.

Tears felled from his eyes like a river. 'This isn't real this can't be happening' he said inside his head, but he knew, deep down he knew this was real and it was his fault for not being there to protect her.

He looked to his hands seeing blood covering them, her blood. Five wanted to throw up, a sick feeling forming in his stomach to fill with the tremendous.

"Maddie, Maddie can you hear me? It's me, your Fivey" he sob, brushing strands of hair off her face.

Trails of blood followed the strands he had brushed off her face. There was so much blood.

"Come on Maddie, can you hear me?" he sob, shaking her slightly. But it was pointless and he knew it too. She was already dead. Her skin had turned more pale, her lips were purple. But even in death, even with all the blood covering her neck down and the trail of it falling down her chin from her mouth, she was still beautiful to Five, still his Star, his Angel, his sunshine, his happiness, his future, his one and only, his everything.

Blood had run out of her mouth and her skin was pale and cold and her lips were purple.

"Please baby, please" he begged, his tears falling onto her face below him.

More tears fell from his cheek as silent cries rocked his body. He brought her chest to his, resting his forehead on her own. He rocked back and forth slightly, tightening his grip on the love of his life. God he didn't even tell her, he never actually told her how much he truly loved her, it was too late again. She were gone.

It was like that the pain in Five's body got worse and worse and it was worse now that he never got to tell her his feelings and that he love her "I love you too, Maddie, I always has and I always will. Always and forever" he said while crying "I love you so much, more than anything" he said as he kept crying. It hurt knowing that it was too late, that she was gone and therefore she couldn't hear him anymore.

He let out a sob as he bend down and kissed her purple lips "I love you" he whispered.  

Strangers rushing past, just trying to get home

"You are my world and my other half, without you I can't be whole. I love you" Five quietly said before he leaned closer and pressed his lips against hers.

He could feel how her skin was now cold and pale and her lips had already turned blue.

Five couldn't imagine losing Maddie, until he did and now he know why he couldn't, because losing her has to be the worst pain ever imaginable, he could feel his heart ripping into two, maybe three, maybe more. It's something he never wanted to experience, and now, he is left with the memories of her and not with the existence of her presence before him.

"Please wake up. Please, please, please wake up love" he begged, running his hand through her hair.

Five pulled away and kissed her on her forehead.

He pulled away from her and ran his thumb over her cheek, wiping a few of his tears away. How could he let this happen? How could he let her slip away again?

He then rested his forehead against hers. "Always and forever" he said as he kept slowly rocking her body back and forth.

"Hey, you know that....that you're my only Star, my only Angel, my sunshine. My future, my happiness, my love, my world, my everything. My one and only" he said, his voice breaking as he rocked back and forth, cradling her in his arms, his nose against hers.

He just sat there holding the love of his life's dead body in his arms.

He now had to remember Maddie for longer than he have know her.

"I love you...god. I love you so much" he said, between his sobs.

His sobs shook the quiet air like gunshots. The most painful thing anyone could ever hear, especially when a tiny scream of anguish would slip through the cries.

"Come back to me. P-Please come back to me" he cried.

He just wanted to die since he have just lost his only reason to live. Because if he died, then he could be with Maddie, the love of his life and they could life together in the afterlives.

But he knew is not what Maddie would have wanted. She wanted him to live for both of them and he did promise her. Beside he knew he had to make this right, he had to fix this. He had to fix this and save Maddie. And he'd do it, no matter the cost. Therefore he was gonna live, he was not going to give up, he was going to keep fighting while hoping and trying to find a way back home.

"I will save you, I promise. I will fix this and save you. I will never give up" he lay another kiss on her purple and cold lips.

After what seems like forever, he pulled away and he lifted his upper body up before he screamed as loud as he could in sadness while crying.

He just sat there on his knees on the cold wet ground with his arms around the woman he loved, while the sun set was slowly raising and the horizon got red as blood.

Five opened his eyes with a gasp before he sat up and he looked around to see that he was in a bedroom.

He quickly got out of bed and rushed towards Maddie's room. He opened the door slowly and he breath out in relief when he saw her laying in her bed sleeping, still breathing, still alive.

Five then spotted a guitar over in the corner, it was that guitar him and Freddy gave her as a common gift. He looked around the room, looking at the picture and drawings, some of them was either hanging on the wall or was on the shelves.

He noticed that he was in many of the pictures. He also noticed that there was drawings of him.

But then he spotted a big picture hanging on the wall. It was a picture of all of them without their dad. None of them had their mask on and they were all smiling at the camera. They were all there, Klaus, Ben, Vanya, Freddy, Five, Diego. Allison, Luther and Maddie.

They looked like happy siblings.

Five spotted a smaller picture of them all, it was the same but they were making silly faces causing him to smile as he looked at the picture, missing those days.

Five looked over at Maddie and watched her sleep. He couldn't let her go with him. Seeing her die in front of him in his arms was still haunting him. He couldn't let her get hurt, he couldn't put her in danger, he will never forgive himself if something happen to her because of him. He would do anything he can to keep her safe. He didn't know what he would do if he lost her again. He couldn't go through all that pain again, he couldn't handle it and he would never be the same. He would break down completely.

He had lost her once already and had grieved her once. He was not going to lose her again.

Maddie was the woman he loved the most and nothing could ever changed that. He would do anything to protect her from any harm. She was his other and better half, his light, his world, his reasons to fight, to get back up, she was his hope, his strength, his smile, his happiness, his future, his first, true and only love and his reason to live and no matter what happen or will happen, he will never stop loving her and he would always be by her side. No matter how many fights, disagreement, battles, end of the world or apocalypses. Not even death could keep him away from her or stop him from loving her. She was his everything.

He don't know how to be in this world if he's not wishing for a future with her.

He knew that his only strong and unbreakable connection and bong was Maddie, therefore he had to protect her at all cost.

"I wish I could stay here longer to see you wake up. But I have to go" he said before he pulled her sheet more over her to it was over her shoulders.

"I'm doing this for you and for our family. I'll save us" he said before he leaned in but stopped as he thought for a moment. He then lay a kiss on her temple before he got up and walked out of the room before closing the door slowly.

He walked towards the front door and put his hand on the handle "Are you leaving or just going out getting some food" someone said making Five jump a bit and he turned around to see Freddy standing behind him "You are still like a ninja" he said and Freddy let out a small smile.

"You know that there are food in the kitchen right?" he asked "I know" Five said "But you are not getting food are you?" Freddy asked and Five shook his head.

"You are leaving. Trying to stop the apocalypse and saving the world, alone" Freddy said and Five nodded again "You know that Maddie will help you, right?" Freddy said "I know, but I can't put her in that kind of danger" Five said "You saw their bodies?" Freddy asked and Five nodded "Not just them. You as well. You died protecting her" Five said "Then I died the way I wanted" Freddy said and Five sighed.

"She died too?" Freddy asked and Five nodded "The worst part is that you saw her body, right?" Freddy asked and Five looked down "I found her under a pile of rubble, she survived long enough for me to find her. But she died in my arms" he said and sighed "The pain I felt when she died in front of me, it was the worst pain I've ever felt and it still haunts me" he said as he tried to hold back his tears and Freddy looked down with a sigh, he knew what it was like watching the person you loved the most die in front of you.

"The only thing that kept me going in the apocalypse was the promise I made to her and the thought of seeing her again. Thinking about her was the only thing that kept me from losing hope" Five said.

"I think is a bad idea going on alone with bad guys after you. You need Maddie's help, mine as well" Freddy said "I don't think that is a good idea, I don't want you to get hurt because of me, especially not Maddie. I will never forgive myself if something happen to her because of me" Five said and took a deep breath "She care a lot about you. I don't think no one can explain how much you mean to her" Freddy said "I don't even really think that she have missed me that much. I mean she have you to take care of her, she don't need me" Five said "That's is where you are wrong, my friend" Freddy said and Five looked at him "One of the things I did was being there for her when you left. You mean more to her than you know and I can proof it for you, follow me" Freddy said before he turned around and walked around a corner.

Five followed Freddy to a door just around the corner. Five saw that it was a metal door and a little device was next to the door. Freddy pressed on some numbers on the device and the door unlock.

"This is Maddie's secret room, no one other than me and her have been in here. So you can't tell her that I show you this, alright?" Freddy asked and Five nodded.

Freddy opened the door and they both enter. The room was huge but you couldn't see anything, Freddy turned on the light and Five's eyes widened when he saw the room.

As Five walked farther into the room, Freddy leaned against the wall by the door.

Five noticed that numbers and equations was witting all over the wall. "Is that..." "The equations about time travel" Freddy said with a nod, cutting Five off.

Five noticed a computer standing on the table. Then he looked at a board to see more numbers and equations writing on it.

He noticed a list hanging on the board.

· 'Find a way to travel through time'

· 'Find out what year Five went to'

· 'Find Five'

·'Get us home to the same year I left'

Five smiled as he looked at the list.

"When you disappeared she never gave up on you, she knew that you would come home one day. So she made this room, to have more space to work in" Freddy said as Five continued walking around the room "You know why she is suddenly 16 again?" Freddy asked and Five looked at him "A little bit over six years ago, Maddie thought she have found a way. She thought she could made a portal and travel through time with it. She managed to open one and went through it. But after a few minutes she got throw back and she was 10 again" Freddy said and Five pulled off a sheet to reveal a broken machine "A time machine. I tried to tell her that it wouldn't work, but we both know you can't talk Maddie out of a decision once she have taken it. She turned on the machine but it exploded, lucky I was there and I saved her. But she could have died" Freddy said and Five looked at him "That is how far Maddie will go to get you back" Freddy said.

"She did anything she could to find a way to get you back or find a way to sent you a message to know that she was still here waiting for you" Freddy said as Five continued looking around the room. "Every day at the end of the month, she would write in her diary about the things that happen in that month, and then she would have giving it to you, when you came back one day" Freddy said.

Five then spotted what looked like a radioscanner "Yeah, Maddie used that every day. The day after you disappeared, she stole that scanner, took it to her room and started talking to it, she was already trying to find a channel you were listening to, and every night before she went to bed, she would turn it on and talk about the day. She have done that every night for years, hoping, believing, thinking, that you would hear her one day" Freddy said.

Five's face fell, he was so sad over hearing this and that he wasn't able to hear her. He then spotted a picture on the shelf, he took the picture and looked at it. The picture show her and Five looking at each other with loving eyes and a smile.

"You know what, after you left and didn't come back. She actually went into your room and slept in your bed. She was always clutching onto a photo of you and her. She did that every night, to make sure that when you came back, she would be the first person you saw. She would wake up to the smallest sound in the house, and every morning she woke up 4:00 a.m, made herself a cup of coffee and your favorite snack, before sitting outside by the front door of the Academy. She would just sit there, waiting for you to return, until Reginald force her to go back inside. But after training and missions, she would sit outside again, until it became too cold or too late. She did that so when you return, her face would be the first you saw when you returned to the Academy" Freddy said and Five looked at him as his face fell.

"I don't know if I should tell you this but she had never left this city" he said and Five looked at him "I thought she had travel around the world" he said "Well, she have enough money to do it but she haven't done it yet" Freddy said "Why?" Five asked "'Cause she was too busy working on a way to get you back. I tried to tell her that it would be good for her to take some time off and live out her dream by traveling the world. But she told me that it was something she wanted to do with you. She wouldn't enjoy it without you" Freddy said and Five looked at him.

"She have waited over 16 years living that life she had always wanted to live 'cause she wanted to live it with you, she wanted you to be by her side when she is fulfilling her dreams, when she is doing the things she have writing on her list, she wanted to do those things on her list with you" Freddy said as the two looked at each other.

"You know she actually refused to get up, 'cause she told me that everytime she was asleep, she would dream of you, you were with her and she was with you. You were together" Freddy said and Five's eyes widened "She knew that it was a dream, but she said that it felt so real. She could touch you, talk to you and feel you. It was like you were connected somehow the way those dreams was" Freddy said and he saw the expression on Five's face.

"Every since I got stuck in the apocalypse, I dreamt of Maddie too. I was with her and she was with me. We were together. I knew that it was just dreams, but they felt so real. I could touch her and talk to her, feel her. The way those dreams were was like---" "You were connected" Freddy said and Five nodded "You and Maddie are connected somehow. You and her can feel each other's feelings somehow. If one of you is sad or in pain, the other can feel it. It's rare but you two have that. You two have a bond and a connection no one can explain, therefore you can't leave her, not again" Freddy said "What if it can keep her safe" Five said "Maddie cried herself to sleep every night when you left and didn't came back" Freddy said and Five's face fell "How would you feel if the person who meant everything to you just disappeared and just when you thought they were back, they leave again" Freddy said "I can imagine it" Five said.

"You have no idea how much you mean to her. And I know that she mean a lot you as well. She is the heart and you are the head, without each other the other wouldn't survive" Freddy said as Five looked at him "One of the things I also did was making sure that she didn't lost control, if I haven't being there for her when you left, she would have lost control or worse she would have being dead by that explosion. But you are the only one that can make her whole again, you are the only one that can really make her smile and laugh again. She need you, just as much as you need her. You can't run from it" Freddy said and Five nodded "I know" he said.

"Maddie. Maddie" someone said and Maddie opened her eyes to see Five in front of her "What?" she asked "We need to go" Five said "Where to?" Maddie asked "To Vanya. She will understand and listen. So come on" Five said.

It didn't take long before Five, Maddie and Freddy was in Vanya's apartment.

After have waiting for a few minutes, they heard the front door's locker clicks and the door opened before Vanya entered.

Vanya was about to turn on the light switch by her door, but then Five turned on the light next to him making Vanya jump a bit when she saw Five, Maddie and Freddy in her apartment. "Jesus" she said "You should have locks on your windows" Five said "I lived on the second floor" Vanya said as she put down her keys "Rapists can climb" Five said "And burglars" Maddie said "And murderers" Freddy said "Alright I get it, a lot of bad people can climb. You three are so weird" Vanya said as she closed the door.

When she have closed the door she took off her jacket before she sat down on the couch and she quickly spotted some blood on Five's shirt. "Is that blood?" she asked "It's nothing" he said "And I also took care of it" Maddie said.

"Why are you here?" Vanya asked and Five let out a sigh "We've decided you're the only one we can trust" he said "Why me?" Vanya asked "Because you're ordinary" Five said and you could see that the sentence hurt her feelings "Because you'll listen" Freddy said "Okay" Vanya said.

"When I jumped forward and got stuck in the future, do you know what I found?" Five asked "No" Vanya said "Nothing. Absolutely nothing. As far as I could tell I was the last person left alive. I never figured out what killed the human race but...I did find something else. The date it happens" Five said "In eight days" Maddie said and Five nodded "The world ends in eight days" Five said "And we have no idea how to stop it" Maddie said and there was a few seconds silence before Vanya spoke up "I'll put on a pot of coffee" she said.
