5 ~ Pieces of the Puzzle fit together

The door above the shop tinkles softly. Belle looks up from her folding, frowning as she sees Michael, George and Ariel enter.

"Ariel." She embraces the girl fondly, then turns to her male companions. "What a... pleasant surprise." The slight wave of her hand indicates the opposite of her words. She smiles at them coldly. "I would tell you to get out, but I'm not sure if you have a gun on you anywhere." She says wryly.

"Look, we're sorry about that." Michael says sincerely. "Our only intention was to protect our sister. You must understand that. Now, she is not in danger, but the person you love is."

"Rumple is trapped inside the box." Ariel interjects. "We've come to help you get him out."

"What?" Belle takes Pandora''s Box. "He's... in here?"

"I know it's a little... hard to take, but yes. He's trapped in the box." Michael nods.

Belle smiles. "Believe me when I say... when you've lived the life I have, nothing is too hard to take. How do we get him out?"

"What's happening?" Henry asks worriedly. Panic fills his voice as he looks at the white sheets.

"Shh!" Tinkerbell moves around the bed. The still shivering Ruby continues to gasp. "Everyone move. She needs air."

They all back away obediently. In a moment, Tinkerbell stands up, wiping her forehead and looking down. "There. All better."

"You killed her!" Henry launches forwards at Ruby's still form. Emma grabs him and holds him back, smoothing his hair.

"Kid, it's alright. Calm down." Tinkerbell says, frowning. "She's not dead. Yet. This will happen, every hour, until she is saved. If she's not saved within 3 days, she will die."

Ruby groans softly, head rolling to the side. Her red hair rushes down her face in a wave.

"Is she going to wake up?" Henry asks hopefully.

"Yes." Tink says with a smile. "The blessing of being the saviour. You are alive. And awake. Until the end."

Emma kneels beside the bed as Ruby turns over again. "Should be any moment." Tinkerbell says with a smile. It's a genuine smile... but behind that smile... lurks more than just happiness.

*************************

The rotund, slightly balding man blinks in the sudden light. His head turns around rapidly, his heart beating wildly. "Where am I?" The world seems black; unnatural.

"Same place, mate." He focuses in on a man... with a hook for a hand.

"Argh!" He tries to leap up but is pressed back down again.

"Just. Tell. Us. What. We. Need. To. Know." A woman says very slowly, emphasising every word.

"What do you need to know?" The man asks, confused.

Another head comes into the light, a boy's head - that of a teenager. "We need something that your... daughter... happened to own - something she touched. Tell us something. Now. Or... we'll kill you." The threat hangs in the air. The stale air he breathes out fogs slightly

"No." The man panics, but he can't move. The three people stare at him so intensly he begins to sweat. A bead of it runs down from his face and drops into his hand. "Fine. Fine! Uh..." He looks around the room and picks up a book, throwing it at the man with the hook, who catches it deftly.

"A... book. Really?" He asks, flipping it open. "I expected something else... not a book."

"It... she tried to steal it when she was here. It's something. It's what you want. Now let me go!" He pleads, eyes watering.

"That'll do." Pan murmers. "As for you..." He looks at the man, whose head begins to shake.

"No." Hook stops him. "We didn't come here to kill him."

"This isn't for me." Pan says angrily. "This is for her."

He flicks his hand and the man crashes into the wall and crumples to the ground.

"You wanted some fi..." Shaylice stops abruptly in the doorway. The hands holding a string full of fish drop to her side. Her mouth forms an 'o' shape. "Uh... Come again?" She gives them a polite smile.  There's no fear behind it. Pan pauses, unsure.

"Check that kitchen again." Regina says, waving her hand with a wink.

"What did you do?" Hook asks as they walk from the house.

Regina shrugs. "I.... might... or might not have... filled the kitchen with gold."

"I knew there was a good heart in there, love." Hook smiles. "I knew it. I'm beginning to rub off on you."

"Oh, whatever." Regina snorts. "I did it because... I... I don't... argh. Speaking of which... that man, Pan. Did you kill him?"

"No." He says with regret in his voice. "I kind of whish I had... but... it's not up to me, is it?"

"Going soft, Pan?" Hook laughs.

"You have no idea." He says with an evil smirk. "The fate that man will suffer will be far worse. Ruby will never go home now. He will never have the pleasure of..." He sees their looks - Regina smirking, Hook poking his tongue out rudely at Regina and making a little love heart with his two hands - or rather his hook and his hand.

"Oh, quit it you two." He growls. "At least we have what we need. We have another piece of the puzzle."
