Chapter 8
*Seto P.O.V.*
It was dinner and as expected everyone was eating. Wow so surprising I know. I took another bite of my steak and continued to listen to Mitch who was babbling on about how he had won the last hunger games he had participated in. The Hunger Games were based off a game in a book conveniently named the Hunger Games. In the book it was a life or death situation where children twelve to eighteen were chosen to fight to the death. Thankfully we're not that harsh. The Hunger Games now or as some people call them the Survival Games are for anyone over the age of twelve. Thankfully due to Notch reading the book he built us an arena and provided adequate respawn systems so it wasn't quite deadly.
Anyhow Mitch began to go on to the part where he managed to kill someone while they were sleeping when I remembered (Y/N) was here. I turned over to where she was sitting only to find her fast asleep in the wheelchair. Then again she had been drifting off on the ride over to the dining room, I guess its not surprise that she finally fell asleep. Just as I finished my food, Mitch finished his retelling of the Survival Games, leaving us in a comfortable silence.
I guess now is the best time to do it. I broke the silence with the words "I need to tell you guys something". They all turned to me and looked at me expectingly. I sighed before giving them the bad news "Ashley thinks that (Y/N) will be unable to walk for the next six months."
Of course Jerome being his overly dramatic self spit out his water spraying it all over Mitch who had an expression of disgust and hatred on his face.
Sky spoke next "How badly was she injured" he said glancing over at (Y/N) who was still fast asleep.
"Herobrine's sword went right through her side. In all honesty she's lucky to be alive." I responded. Sky nodded and we all fell into another silence, this time an empty one, with no one quite sure what to say next. "I'm going to take (Y/N) to her room" I said simply before getting up and carefully pulling (Y/N)'s wheelchair out from under the table and then out of the room.
As I escaped from the silence I let out a sigh, barely even audible. Thankfully we had multiple guest rooms, the one she had been in before was on the second floor meanwhile the one she'd be staying in right now was on the first. Of course you can't really bring a wheelchair upstairs safely. I'm pretty sure if Quentin saw us doing that he'd go on a rant about how dangerous it is. Quentin enjoys to work at a clinic part time, not the one at the castle but one of the few clinics in the kingdom. At these clinics he's known as Doc Q as its easier for any children to say and remember. He's never particularly busy so I suppose thats why he enjoys working there part time.
Nonetheless I arrived at the guest room which would become (Y/N)'s room for a while or maybe even permanently. I guess it depends on how long she stays here and whether or not she likes it. I pulled the wheelchair next to the bed before pulling down the covers and setting the pillows down flat. Then I carefully lifted (Y/N) from the wheelchair and onto the bed before pulling the covers over her, leaving just her head poking out. I then moved the wheelchair out of the way, as I know just how clumsy the others can be and closed the curtains. Then I headed back to my room to do some more brewing.
*(Y/N) P.O.V.*
I woke up in a red and 'budder' room, it was very similar to the first room I had been in aside from the different color scheme. The room was dark as the windows had curtains drawn over them and the door to the rest of the castle was closed. Unfortunately both the windows were too far away from me for me to reach the curtains and open them. Quickly getting sick of the dimmed room I used my magic in an attempt to draw the curtains away from the window. Unfortunately I cannot control curtains. So I did the next best thing, I created a vine that pulled and held the curtains away from the middle of the window. Thankfully this did work.
Now having a better look at the room I noticed the wheelchair from yesterday was in one of the corners and that someone had placed the vase with the bouquet of flowers I had created beforehand on the dresser. I began to think of ways to occupy myself while I waited for something interesting to happen, and began playing with my magic. After who knows how long someone opened the door and peeked in.
Seeing that I was awake he walked completely into view. It was Seto, then again it almost seems like he's in charge of taking care of me at the moment. "Are you hungry?" He questioned. Surprisingly I hadn't realized it before, but now that he mentions it... I'M STARVING. I nodded quickly and he quickly excused himself to get me some food.
While waiting for him bring me back some food I decided I would prank him a bit. Oh come on who doesn't like pranking people once in a while? I created a decently large orb of water above the doorway before forcing it to lay flat on the ceiling. This way when he won't notice it, then I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Finally I heard footsteps coming towards me, my heart began to pound as I waited for him to appear. Then the footsteps stopped and the door opened. Now!
I used my magic to drop the water on Seto but surprisingly I heard a girly scream. Is he actually a girl or something? That's when the person fully opened the door revealing a soaking wet Ashley. Suddenly I heard someone laughing in the hallway. "DID YOU PLAN THIS SETO?!" She screamed at him trying to stay mad but it was obvious that she found it kind of funny too.
"I didn't I swear!" he choked out between laughs.
"I meant to get Seto, Whoops" I said. At this Seto laughed even harder and Ashley joined in slightly.
"I'll just come back later I guess, see you later!" Ashley called before rushing off to get dried. Seto walked into the room, trying not to laugh at what had just happened as he placed a plate of food down on my lap.
"Nice one (Y/N)" he said still trying to hold back a laugh. He then put out his hand and I gave him a high five. Then he left the room leaving me by myself again.
I devoured the food on my plate which consisted of three pancakes. I was familiar with pancakes though I had only had them a few times. For my family they had been considered a rare treat as we were so poor. My parents mined for a living and my brother and I went to school and in our free time we hunted for extra food. On a rare occasion Mom and Dad would bring back the materials for pancakes and we'd make them for breakfast. I shook the thought from my head not wanting to think about my recently deceased family any longer.
Once I finished eating I quickly became bored again. I set the plate off onto the nightstand right next to the bed before trying to think of what to do. Without even meaning to I began to think of my family again. I could never shake them, maybe they'll haunt me until the day I die. I began remembering when I had killed my first deer and Chim helped me carry it home and we celebrated by eating more food than I could of ever imagined at the time. I remember how I tripped on a rock outside our house once and my mother healed the cut using her magic. That's when it hit me, she healed me using magic, maybe I could do the same.
I tried to recall how she had done it, thinking back to the day I remember my mother placing her hands on the cut before closing her eyes in concentration, a silver light had surrounded her hands and when she removed them the cut was gone. Now trying to replicate this I did the same placing my hands on my wound though it hurt and closed my eyes vividly imagining myself healing the cut. As I did this I suddenly began to feel weaker and weaker and weaker until suddenly everything faded away.
