I sat up on a rock, over looking my team as they slept. My expression was hard as I tired to keep calm while on the battlefield. The crickets chirping helped keep me calm as I kept guard.

"Mai sensei." I looked over to see Obito walking over to me, having had a hard time sleep.

I offered a small smile, "Hey, Obi-kun. What's wrong?"

Obito sat beside me, his goggles off and headband not on him. He looked to the ground, "I know that teamwork is an important thing, but Kakashi's always calling me a lazy idiot. Even though I'm called an elite for being born into the Uchiha clan, I'm a loser. I acknowledge that Kakashi's an amazing person, but..." Obito trailed off.

I placed my hand on Obito's head affectinally, my eyes still fixed on our surroundings. "Kaka-kun is the son of the genius Sakumo Hatake, who was also known and feared as the Konoha White Fang. In front of Kaka-kun's father's name, even the title of 'Legendary Sanin' pales in comparison. I thing that because he spent his childhood with such a genius that he considers you unsatisfactory. Obi-kun, don't take Kakashi's rudeness to heart, sometimes you have to look at the while picture to know why one acts like that. I'm sure he dosen't mean it in a way to be rude, but possibly in a way to make you push yourself to work harder."

Obito looked at me. "The White Fang? Come to think of it, I've heard of him before. He was a hero who died protecting the village. Kakashi never brought him up before."

My eyes saddened a bit. "He was a great man who was respected by everyone in the village, especially Kakashi. Until..." I trailed off before speaking again. "Obito, I normally wouldn't talk about this so freely, but since you're on the same team as Kakashi, I want you to know. Kakashi's father had been disgraced before he committed suicide." I paused to look at Obito.

Obito's eyes widened as he looked at me. "His father..."

I looked back to our surroundings, my hand still on top of Obito's head. "Five years ago, he was the captain of a top secret mission to infiltrate an enemy territory,and he had to choose between two options.  The success of the mission of the life of his comrades. If he followed the rules of the village, he couldn't abort the mission, but to save the lives of his comrades, he abandons the mission. But, because of that, the Fire Country suffered great losses, and his comrades in the village blames him. In the end, even the comrades he saved hated him. Due to that, his mind and body became weak, and Sakumo took his own life."

"From that point on, Kakashi never opened his mouth about his father, and that is why he is so insistent on following the rules. Obito, I know it is hard, but I want to to just try to understand him. Don't hate Kakashi for how he acts." I finished.

Obito looked from the ground then to me. "Is that why..." His voice was low. "Is that why you're so protective over Kakashi and I? Because he lost his parents and because I've never known mine?"

I blinked at Obito before giving off a soft smile. "I guess you can say that. Even if you and Kakashi don't realize it, I think of you two like my children almost. I know you must think I'm stupid for saying that, and you probably don't think of me as anything other than your teacher, as does Kakashi-"

I was cut off by Obito suddenly hugging me. A small laugh escaped me as I patted his head, "I guess maybe you do consider me as a mother, hmm?"

"Yeah..." He muttered.

I grinned as Obito let go. "Well, I'm glad to hear that, Obi-kun. If you want, after this mission I can clear out a room in Teno and my place, we do have an extra room if you need it."

His eyes widened, "Y-You mean like a-a family?"

My eyes closed as I kept my smile, "Yeah."

Minato and I stood next to each other, his eyes on my wound, which I assure him was fine. Throwing on our backpacks we turned to our team. "Let's head out."

Obito ran over to stand beside me, where I placed my hand on top of his head a grin on my face. Looking over I grabbed Kakashi into a headlock and gave both boy's a hard hug. My eyes closing as my thoughts went bad.

'No... They will all be fine. I know they are all strong, and I taught Rin medical ninjutsu, if needed she can heal them and defend herself.' I hugged them harder.

"Mai sensei, please let go of me." Kakashi muttered.

I sighed but placed Obito and Kakashi back down, where Kakashi ignored me and Obito grinned at me. "Okay, let's go then."

I stood beside Minato, our students in front of us, standing tall. "From here on out, we'll split into two groups. Everyone, do your best. It was only by chance that the enemy from yesterday was scouting by himself. From now on, they'll be team battles. Be careful." Minato cautioned.

"And remember boys, Rin is the medic, so please try to keep her safe, but don't put yourself at too much of a risk while doing so. Kakashi, Obito, I will not be there to stop you two from fighting, so can I trust you two not to fight?" I asked.

Both of them nodded, all evidence of any goofiness from any of my students was gone. I gave a soft smile, "Good. Rin-chan, please look out for these two for me."

"Mai sensei, we've been out on a mission before..." Kakashi sighed.

"Not by yourself though..." I muttered, Minato placed a hand on my shoulder.

Nodding I gave them a smile, Obito looked to the ground. "We better be going then, Captain!"

My smile turned to a full grin as Obito spoke, Minato shared a smile as well while Kakashi and Rin looked shocked.

"Right, let's go!" Minato ordered.

"Yes, sir!" Our students shouted.

Minato and I jumped away from out students as they took off in the other direction. "Mai, they will be okay. Now, you should heal your side before we get to any enemies, do we need to stop?" Minato asked, running beside me.

I shook my head, my hand resting on my side as I healed it. "I can heal myself while we run, Minato. And I know that they will be fine, I'm just getting old and becoming a worried old woman." Minato chuckled at me.

"You haven't changed a bit, Mai." He muttered.

"Well you sure have, you're no longer wimpy." I smirked, which only made him laugh again. Even now, when in the middle of war, Minato and I can still make jokes and share a laugh.

Our laughter stopped when I sensed two teams heading for us. I glanced at Minato, who looked at me and nodded understanding my look. We paused out running while I located each of the enemies. Two were in the trees to Minato's side, one behind us, also on Minato's side. Another one in the trees on my side, one underground, and the other one was about to be in front of us.

Pushing Minato out of the way I let a piece of pink crystal form in my hand before I stabbed the man who was about to attack Minato. Ignoring the blood that splattered from the man I looked over to Minato. He nodded to me as I glanced at all of the directions of the enemies.

Taking Minato's kunai's I charged for the people in the tree's. While I didn't have Minato's teleportation jutsu, my speed was almost as fast. Sticking a kunai in the ground by one of the men in the trees I moved onto the next tree, Minato appearing next to the two I just placed the kunai next to. Flying past the man in the next tree, another crystal spear, which had formed in my hands, went through the man's stomach.

Minato appeared next to me, where we retreated to the ground, where the last two men on the ground still frozen. Their minds had yet to register what just had happened. When it finally seemed to click their eyes widened as they started to quiver.

"T-The blonde duo! Konoha's Yellow Flash and Shinning Crystal!" They shouted.

 Minato and I finally caught up to the front lines,where I was quick to notice we only had four men left, while the enemy still had at least fifty. "Minato, we're going to have to work together." I muttered, "There's too many enemy's."

"I know Mai, do me a favor and make some crystal weapons. I'll put my seal on it then we can throw them." Minato instructed.

The four men and Minato watched as I made dozens of crystal kunai's. Minato took each one and placed a seal on them before handing one to one of the men beside us. "Everyone, please throw these kunai at the enemy's side concurrently.  Afterwards, I'll take care of this by myself. Mai, you stay here and heal who you can."

"No matter what, that's just insane!" One of the men argued.

"Trust Minato, he know's what he is doing. Normally I would go with him, but at you guys are injured I'm needed her to heal you." I said as I seated myself behind one of the men and started to heal his injuries.

"We'll be able to see the Yellow Flash in action now." One of the men muttered, glancing at me. "But I guess we won't be able to see the Blonde Duo, will we, Shinning Crystal?"

I shook my head, "Sorry to say this boys, but you will not be seeing any duo today. Only the Yellow Flash there get's the action. Minato, you put a seal on me, correct?"

Minato nodded, "Yeah."

"Good, when you go I'll put up a protective crystal barrier while I heal these guys, when you're done you can just release your seal." I muttered. "Minato, are you ready?"

After a moment of Minato preparing, he nodded. Grabbing a dozen crystal kunai's in each hand I threw them with all of my strength, sending them farther into the battle field than the other men's. As soon as the kunais were gone, I had my Crimson Fruit up and Minato was gone.

Kneeling down I started healing the men as they watched in shock as Minato started to take down the enemy's.

After healing the men and Minato being done with the enemies he kneeled beside me. "Mai, you've used too much chakra today. Rest for a bit." Minato ordered as he saw my panting form. He turned around and gestured for me to get on his back. "I do believe that we need to go to see Kakashi."

I sat next to Minato in silence. My body numb  as only Minato and Kakashi layed beside me. While I didn't blame it on Kakashi  or Rin for Obito's death, the death of my student had hit me. Out of all of my students, I hated to admit it, but I was closest to Obito.

With my chakra low, I can't do anything else to help them. My eyes wondered to Rin, who stood by herself in front of us, obviously troubled as well.  I ignored Kakashi and Minato talking, I ignored the scar on Kakashi's left eye, and I ignored the bloody red Sharingan that replaced Kakashi's black eye. Instead, my mind focused on the numbing pain of the loss of my student, and the fact that I was close to loosing my other students.

"M-Mai sensei..." I blinked before looking at Kakashi, who was looking at me.

For a moment the feeling of shock ran through me as when I looked at Kakashi, for once, I saw emotion in the child in front of me. "Yes, Kakashi?" My voice was soft as I wanted to be careful with Kakashi, who had to be more affected than I was with Obito's death.

"O-Obito... He said how you felt." He muttered. "It.. It was my fault-"

"No, it wasn't, Kakashi. Things happen on missions, and as much as I hate to say it, this is one of those things." I muttered before placing my hand on Kakashi's head, this time, unlike all the other times, he accepted my small affection.

Third Shinobi War Done

I laughed as Jiraiya and Minato and I finished our sparing match, with Jiraiya still being the winner. Sweat dripped down my face as I looked at Minato and Jiraiya. "You two can't tell Teno-kun I spared with you, okay?"

They looked at me confused, "Huh? Why is that?" Jiraiya asked.

I grinned cheekily, my hand unwavering rested on my stomach. Minato caught on quickly, as Kushina had been pregnant already for four months.

"No..." Minato muttered, his blue eyes growing wide.

Jiraiya looked between us confused then at my hand. His body froze as he looked at Minato then back at me. "Mai, are you saying...?"

"Yeah! I'm pregnant!" I chirped.

Both men panicked, "Oh my god! Mai's gonna have a baby!" Jiraiya shouted, "And we- we just- Oh god! Teno's going to kill us!"

Minato nodded, "And to think, I was looking forward to becoming a father... Now Teno's going to kill me before I get to see my child."

"Why would I do that?" I turned around to see my green eyed husband. My face light up as I ran over to him, he gave me a soft smile while hugging me close to him. "Hey Mai-chan-" He froze. "Why are you sweaty? And you look tired? Are you okay? Is it the baby?! No, it couldn't have been the baby this early, Mai, did you spar?"

A guilty smile formed on my face, "M-Maybe..."

He gave me a disapproving look before turning to Jiraiya and Minato, who were trying to sneak away. "I wouldn't move one more step if I were you two." Teno growled, his grip on my waist tightening slightly.

Jiraiya and Minato froze before Minato suddenly laughed. "Wait, I'm the Hokage! I'm perfectly safe! Good luck Jiraiya sensei, I have my wife and future child to be here for!"

"Minato!" Jiraiya shouted, anime tears falling down his face. "That's not fair-"

"Jiraiya, I'll give you three seconds before I kill you." Teno growled.

"Wait! Jiraiya sensei! I wanted to tell you something!" I interrupted, causing both men to pause. "I figured since Minato and Kushina said you were the godfather of their child, Teno and I wanted you to be the godfather of our child as well... that is if you're okay with it."

Jiraiya paused before grinning, "Really? I would love that-"

"Your three seconds are over! I'm going to kill you now Jiraiya!" Teno shouted, letting go of me to run after Jiraiya, who squealed like a school girl and took off running. Teno paused to peck my lips and give me a smirk before running after Jiraiya.

I smiled as my hands rested on my still flat stomach. "Your family is a crazy one, and your brother was the same way." I paused to looked down, "Little Yuki, or Obito, I can't wait for you to meet everyone."

The Kyuubi's Attack

A loud sigh escaped me as I walked over to the entrance of the village hoping to at least say bye to Kushina. Said red head was quick to make her appearance, her nerves getting to her. I grinned while waving excitedly, the third hokage's wife looked at me dissaprovingly.

"Kush-chan!" I grinned.

Kushina looked at me, her hands resting on her swollen stomach. "Hey Mai-chan, dattebane!"

"Are you nervous?" I asked as she paused to talk to me.

She nodded her voice going to a whisper. "How bad do you think it hurts? Mikoto said it wasn't too bad..."

I chuckled poking Kushina in her cheek. "Oh, Kush-chan, are you scared? I'm sure Mikoto would know if it hurts too badly, after all she had Sasuke-kun not too long ago, and she also had Itachi. If she can have two kids it can't hurt that badly, right?"

She paused to think about it before smiling and nodding. "Yeah! You're right, Mai-chan!" She giggled suddenly, pointing to me. "Your little girl is gonna have to beat all of the boys away. With Mikoto having a boy, a little cutie at that, and I'm having a little boy too. Teno-kun is gonna have a hard time keeping all of these boys away from little Yuki."

 I tilted my head, "Why would the boys be all over Yuki?"

A sly smile formed on her face, "If Yuki looks anything like you, you're gonna have to worry. Hey! What if Naruto and Yuki end up together? Wouldn't that be great?!"

I laughed, but before I could reply Minato and Teno appeared in front of us. Teno had his ANBU mask attached to his hip, as he was going with Minato and Kushina. "We need to leave, now." The third's wife said as soon as she saw Minato.

I pouted, "Okay, you guys better be careful with Kushina, got it?"

Minato and Teno chuckled, although when Kushina winced Minato was quick to freak out. "Kushina! What's wrong? Do you need anything?"

 I laughed, "Mina-kun, you guys better be going."

Teno gave me a quick hug, "I'll be right back, Mai-chan."

I smiled at Teno, "I know, now get going! My feet are hurting standing here waiting for you guys to leave."

Concern filled Teno's eyes, looking like Mianto had with Kushina. "Mai-chan, maybe you should go back home and rest. Yuki should be there, and she did say she would help you with anything.."

"I'm okay Te-kun." I chuckled, he sighed but turned around when the third's wife coughed in annoyance.

"I'm coming, Minato, Kushina-chan! Bye Mai-chan!" Teno waved as he quickly slipped on his mask and took off to scout the area before Minato and Kushina started walking.

"Bye, Mina-kun, Kush-chan, Te-kun." I waved as they walked out of the village. Not a single doubt was set in my mind that they would be okay, with both Minato and Teno it was sure that they would all be safe.

Turning around I started walking for my home in the Okami clan. A content smile on my face. Giggles escaped me as I passed children playing around me, knowing that soon my child would be doing that with Naruto and maybe even Sasuke.

I stood outside my home, Yuki beside me as we looked up in horror. Three people were set in my mind as I saw the nine tailed fox attacking the village. Ignoring Yuki, I took off. I passed up Okami clan members, who looked at me with worry as they had known about Teno going with Minato and Kushina.

Konoha ninjas ran past everyone as they made quick advance towards the Kyuubi. When I had stopped by Minato's house to see if he had brought Kushina home it was empty. My heart raced as I looked towards the Kyuubi. Stopping myself from running I forced myself to concentrate on Teno, not coming up with anything set me into a panic. Forcing myself to calm once again I focused on Minato, which was close to Kushina and the Kyuubi.

My feet carried me towards their chakra, despite being pregnant I had to get to them. Now only because they were the few people I really cared for, but also because they might know where Teno was.

"Mai! Where are you going?" I ignored Mikoto who had seen me running.

"Minato! Kushina!" I shouted as the red head and blonde came into view. My blue eyes widening as I realized they had been impaled by the Kyuubi's claw, the fox was being held down my Kushina's chakra chains.

My eyes landed on what they were protecting, a little baby boy with blonde hair layed crying. I looked back to Minato and Kushina who were shocked to see me. "Y-You guys..." My voice quivered.

"Mai, we don't have any time, we need to seal the Kyuubi inside Naruto." Minato muttered, blood dripping down from his mouth. "Please, protect Naruto..."

Tears fell down Kushina's face, but she still forced a smile. I shook my head, "Don't seal that fox in your baby! Minato! Kushina! You can't possibly- Seal it in my instead! Don't put that burden on you baby!"

They shook their heads, "I can't, Mai. Y-You're pregnant still, you wouldn't be able to handle it. Hell, what are you doing here anyway?!" Minato forced out.

Tears filled my eyes, "I-I was worried... and T-Teno wasn't back... I came here to see you guys but ow that I have... You two."

"I'm sorry, Mai...-"

"Kushina, I'll seal our chakra into Naruto's seal as well..." Minato muttered.

My eyes widened as I realized what he meant. "No, you can't mean that you're going to-" My lip quivered.

 Kushina looked down at Naruto, prepared to give her last words to him. "Naruto... Don't be picky. Eat lots and grow strong. Make sure you bathe every day and stay warm. Also don't stay up late. You need lots of sleep. And make friends. You don't need a lot of friends. Just a few... Ones you can really trust. Like you father and I, get friends like Teno and Mai... I wasn't very good at it, but Teno helped. Keep up with your studies and practice your ninjutsu hard. Remember that everyone has strengths and weaknesses. So don't get too depressed if you can't do something well. Respect your teachers and upperclassmen at the academy."

Kushina continued, "Oh, and this is important. It's about the Three Prohibitions for a shinobi. Be extra careful about lending and borrowing money.  Put your mission wages into your savings account. No alcohol until you're twenty. Too much can ruin your health, so drink in moderation. Another Prohibition is women.  I'm a woman, so I don't know too much about this but... All you need to remember is that this world is made up of men and women. So it's only natural to take an interest in girls... But just don't get hooked on bad women. Find someone like me, or Mai... Speaking on the Three Prohibitions, be wary of Jiraiya sensei, dattebane. Naruto, from now on,  you're going to face lots of pain and hardship. Be true to yourself. Have a dream and have the confidence to make that dream true! There's so much, so much I have to say! I wish I could stay with you longer. I love you. Minato, I'm sorry I used up your time."

My legs finally gave out on me, as a sob escaped me. My best friends, who I had grown to love as siblings, were dying in front of me. What made it worse was that I knew my medical knowledge had no chance of saving them, and here they were just made parents.

"No, it's okay. Naruto, my message to you is... I guess it's the same as your nagging mother's." Minato paused to look at me, "Mai, I made sure that Teno was okay, he's knocked out for now... Bye."

My eyes widened as he performed the seal, sealing the Kyuubi in Naruto, along with the remainder of his chakra. "Minato! Kushina!" I screamed as the Kyuubi was no longer there, and Minato and Kushina fell to the ground.

The claw no longer in their stomachs left a gaping hole and two people who were no longer with me. A sob escaped me as I saw this. "M-Minato.... Kushina... Damn it!" I sobbed.

My voice was cut short at the sound of a baby's cry. Turning around I saw Naruto, tears still falling down my face I walked over to the baby and picked him up gently. The Third Hokage came running towards me as well as some other ninjas. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders to pick me up.

"Mai, I was just informed that Teno was found and returned to the village. He is alive, and well. I suguest that you go back home, you shouldn't have even come out here. Let me take the baby-"

"It's Naruto! And I-I'll take him...." I interrupted, hugging the newborn to my chest.

"Mai, you're not the godparent of this child, so I cannot let you take him. I'm sorry..." The third took Naruto out of my arms and had another ninja escort me home. My body shook with sobs as I followed the orders.

End of Chapter 46! This is the end of Mai's chapters, I hope you guys liked it! I will try to update another chapter today, if I can get ten comments ^-^
