chapter 41

 I do not own Naruto

I glanced at Sakura, that smirk still on her face. My eyes narrowed as I leaned in towards her, her smirk still in place as she noticed me.

"What's up with that smirk of your's?" I muttered.

Her smirk only grew, "Oh, nothing, Yuki-san." Her eyes glanced towards Naruto, who still seemed to be staring at me. "Nothing at all."

My gaze on her broke when Sai and Hinata came back. "How'd it go?" Kakashi asked.

"It's as we thought. It's not just an ordinary mist." Hinata informed, "There's a violent chakra embedded in it, and that same chakra is also covering the entire lake."

"So, it's certain now that the Three tails is truly in the lake." Yamato muttered.

"Considering what happened to Naruto and Yuki, the mist can also make people hallucinate." Kakashi added. "It's like a barrier."

"Probably one to prevent anyone from getting close to the lake." Yamato looked at Kakashi.

"This is bad!" Naruto exclaimed, looking at me. "That guy's still inside! Yuki-chan, what should we do?!"

"What guy?" Kiba asked.

I stayed quiet, making Naruto look at Sakura. "hey, Sakura, you remember, right? Before we came here, I was telling you about someone I met."

"Now that you mention it..." Sakura muttered.

Sai gave a closed eye smile. "Ah! Naruto is delusional again!"

Before Naruto could get mad at Sai I stepped in. "No, he's not delusional! I saw the kid as well, when we were on the lake. I know he's not a ninja... but that chakra." I muttered at the end, not knowing if we should or should not help.

"Please, Kakashi sensei! Let me  go and see if he's safe!" Naruto demanded.

"I'm sorry, Naruto, but I can't give you permission to do that." Kakashi said.

"Kakashi sensei!" Naruto shouted angrily.

"You and Yuki were just under the Three tail's illusion, and you two almost attacked Kiba and Yamato. I won't let you be a one-man army, and I won't let Yuki go with you alone either, as I already know she was about to volunteer to go with you." Kakashi explained.

"Yeah, I see what you mean, but..." Naruto trailed off.

"But still, Kakashi sensei, what are we going to do now that the situation has changed? Setting this aside, we've strayed pretty far from our search for Orochimaru's hideout." Kiba asked.

Kakashi sighed, "Well, with matters getting out of hand, it's not up to us to decide. Pakkun is already on his way to Konoha. Until Tsunade-sama's orders reach us, we're on standby." Kakashi explained. "We'll observe the movements of the Three tails and the others from outside the mist. Got it?"

We all nodded, "Understood."

I leaned against a tree, watching the area I was in charge of. The sun had set a hour or two ago, leaving me alone in the darkness. My thoughts were allowed to wonder, as I was alone and no one was here to disrupt them.

'The lady, she know's mom, but she's working for Orochimaru. And, my crystal style seems stronger, but she knows more than I do about it, giving her the upper hand.' I clenched my teeth. 'Damn it! How am I supposed to protect them, if I don't even know all there is to know? Then, there's also another strange thing.'

I looked down at my hands, my eyes narrowing. 'Why is it all of my crystal chakra changing color? Instead of a solid color, it's all multi-colored. Normally I wouldn't think much of it, but even that lady seemed shocked by it. I guess I'll just have to go to the Kessho village, Arashi should be able to explain more about the crystal.'

I looked back up when two people stepped over to me. A smile formed on my face when I saw Akamaru and Kiba.

"Hey, Yuki, we're here to relieve you." Kiba grinned.

"Good, because I was getting tired." I smiled before looking at Akamaru. "Akamaru-kun, if Kiba here starts to slack off, feel free to get me."

Akamaru yipped happily at me, making Kiba frown. "Akamaru! Don't agree with Yuki!"

With a laugh, I started walking away from my post and towards everyone else. "Don't fuss too much, Kiba, it's not to hard to believe that Akamaru-kun likes me more than you." Laughing harder I took off running before Kiba could try to attack me.

A tired yawn escaped my lips as the wooden house Yamato made came into view. 'I'm going right to sleep when I get there.' I thought while my feet started to drag.

I stopped when two people came running towards me. My eyes narrowed when I saw Sakura and Sai. "Yuki! Have you seen Naruto?" Sakura asked.

My eyes widened, "No, he's not here. Damn it! That baka!" I growled before I took off running, going past Sakura and Sai.

"Y-Yuki, where are you going?!" Sakura demanded.

"I'm going to find Naruto! I think he's out looking for the kid!" I shouted before they both were out of my sight.

'He should still have the marked kunai, I just hope that I can release the seal from this far away.' I thought before making a handsign, but nothing happened. "Damn it. I'll have to work on my distances later then. Let's see, he's not too far away, if I run at my full speed I should be able to make it to him in a couple of minutes."

Pushing my legs faster, I dashed through the forest, soon finding myself in the mist again.Trying once again to release the seal, I found myself in front of Naruto. My eyes narrowed when I saw the crystal user in front of him.

They both seemed shocked. "Y-Yuki-chan." Naruto muttered.

The crystal user smirked at me. "Well, well, if it isn't little miss Yuki. Good, you'll make by job easier on capturing you, Orochimaru will be pleased." At the same time both her and I formed handsigns.

"Crystal release: Crystal sword!" I shouted.

"Crystal release: Amethyst blade!" She shouted.

I shoved Naruto out of the way as she was going towards him, my multi-colored sword clashed with her  blade on her forearm. I glared at her while sending a kick to her side, she slid away from me.

"Naruto-kun, get out of here. Forget about the kid, that's not what we are here for!" I demanded as I ducked under her forearm that the blade was attached to.

"But, Yuki-chan! You can't really mean that you want me to-"

"Naruto! Right not, that child is not our concern! We'll deal with him later!" I shouted, sending a harsh swipe at the crystal user. "Just get out of here! You won't stand a chance against her, I barely stand a chance!"

His blue eyes widened before he took off, in the opposite direction of our team. My eyes widened as I realized he wasn't going back to our team, but instead he was still going to look for the child. In my moment of distraction, the crystal user took her chance to strike at me.

I gasped as her hand grabbed onto my neck, squeezing it slightly. My hand dropped my sword as I tried to claw at her arm holding my up.

Her harsh gaze seemed to suddenly pause, her eyes widened for a moment before she shook the look away. "I heard how you put up so much trouble for even Kabuto to capture you, maybe this will prove that I may be a better choice for Orochimaru-sama."

My hands tightened on her wrist as I continued to struggle. I grew dizzy from the lack of oxygen, the only sound in the night was my slight choking noise. "Y-You... said y-you knew.... my m-mom." I choked out.

Hearing this, her grip on my neck loosened slightly. "Mai Suishou, she was my friend before we were forced to leave the Kessho village. There, we separated, having chosen to go to different people. She chose that village, Konoha, I went to Orochimaru. It seems even now, Orochimaru would rather of had Mai than me." Her grip tightened on my neck. "That was why I beat her, almost until she was dead, to prove to Orochimaru-sama that I was stronger than she was."

My eyes widened, "Y-You did what?!"

A smirk formed on her lips. "Funny, I remember her saying the same thing. After I told her I was going to Orochimaru, she reacted badly, and asked the same thing. You even look like her right now, gasping for air, the look in you eyes is just like her's."

My grip tightened more on her wrist, a small cracking sound could be heard before she cursed and dropped me. Staggering up, I panted for air. "You bastard." I muttered, my fist clenching.

"You betrayed her... You're own friend.. Just to make yourself feel stronger, to make yourself feel like you're worthy of Orochimaru." My eyes snapped to hers, a heated glare meeting her shocked eyes. "You're worse than scum, just like Orochimaru!"

I lunged at her, my fist ready to hit her face with a chakra concentrated punch.  "Stop!" A boy's voice shouted, my eyes widened as the voice startled me. In that split second, the crystal woman too her chance and slashed me with her blade. I muffled out my cry as blood fell to the ground.

My chest burned, warm liquid dripped off of me. I looked back up at the woman in time to see her foot collide with my chest. I flew back, only to land in someone's arms. My half lidded eyes looked up to see blonde and orange, Naruto.

His eyes widened as he looked at me, "Yuki-chan..."

"Baka, why didn't you go back and get Kakashi sensei?" I muttered, fatigue warring down on my body.

"I-I... the boy..." His voice died down as he saw my wound. "You bastard." His voice dropped to a growl.

I forced myself up, ignoring my fatigue I ran at the crystal user. I reached into my pouch and pulled out three kunais. Her eyes narrowed at me as I threw two of them at each of her sides. Before I could attack, Naruto grabbed onto me and pulled me to him and stood in front of the boy. A clone stood behind the crystal user.

"Get away from Yuukimaru." She demanded.

"Your name is Yuukimaru, right? I'm Naruto, and that's Yuki-chan." Naruto smiled.

Yuukimaru looked from Naruto to me, his eyes widened as he saw the deep gash in my stomach. "W-What happened?"

'Didn't he see her stab me?' I thought with a silent sigh.

"Don't move," Naruto's clone ordered, standing behind the crystal user.

"Guren-san!" Yuukimaru shouted, sounding concerned for the woman. My eyes narrowed slightly as I wondered why he would he concerned for this woman.

'Isn't he her prisoner?' I thought.

"Yuukimaru, you're coming back to Konoha with Yuki-chan and I." Naruto said.

"Why?" The child asked.

"Because, your home is not with her." Naruto answered simply. I looked back at Yuukimaru to see him look down sadly. "She's one of Orochimaru's servants. Orochimaru's the kind of guy that will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. That bastard wouldn't think twice about taking someone's live.-"

I slapped Naruto in the back of his head, making him cry out. "Don't cuss in front of children!" He pouted before nodding at me and continuing.

"There's no way someone who follows him could be a good person!" Naruto growled.

"But, Guren-san protects me..." Yuukimaru muttered. "She's nice to me, and she thinks about me."

"It's obvious she's just using you!" Naruto shouted, making the boy flinch.

"Shut up!" Guren shouted, disappearing into crystal.

She jumped down from the tree and kicked Naruto out of the way while grabbing onto my neck. I let out a choking cry as she picked me up.

"He's not going back with you! And she's going to Orochimaru-sama!" She growled.

"Yuki-chan!" Naruto shouted, his eyes widening.

"Guren-san!" Yuukimaru smiled.

Naruto formed a handsign. "Shadow clone jutsu!"

She growled before slamming me to the ground and placing a foot on my stomach. "Crystal Release: Hexagonal Shuriken Dance!"

All of the clones dissapeared just as the ground in front of us exploded. I looked up as Kakashi kicked away Guren and grabbed onto me. He tossed me over his shoulder like a rag doll and ran through the smoke for cover.

"Kakashi sempai, did you get Yuki-san?" Yamato asked just as we came from the smoke.

"Yeah, and I see you got Naruto." A smirk could be heard from Kakashi as he looked down to see Naruto trapped to the ground by Yamato's wood.

I grunted in pain as Kakashi's shoulder dug into my stomach wound. Kakashi blinked and looked at me, "Oi, what's wrong, Yuki?"

"Your stomach is hurting my stomach..." I muttered.

"Kakashi sensei, you got Yuki-chan, right?!" Naruto asked, looking back at us. He sighed when he saw me on Kakashi's shoulder, but frowned and said. "Kakashi sensei, you're holding her wrong."

Kakashi raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And how should I be holding her?"

He grinned, "Let me hold her."

Kakashi rolled his only visible eye. "I'm not letting you hold her, remember I know who your other teacher was."

Naruto turned red before shouting at Kakashi, "Well don't hold her on your shoulder then, she has a bad stomach wound!"

Quickly Kakashi shifted me carefully to where he held me bridal style, I clenched my teeth in pain. "Damn it Yuki, you just had to go running after Naruto, didn't you?"

"Better me than Naruto-kun." I muttered quiet enough so only Kakashi heard.

"You knew you would run into the crystal user if you ran by yourself, didn't you?" Yamato asked.

I winced as I tried to heal myself, my stomach stinging in pain. "Yeah, but, not matter what, I had to-" Yamato cut off Naruto.

"I don't want to hear it!  Consider yourself lucky to be alive! You put your comrades in danger due to your emotions! You should have known they are after Yuki as well and that they would try to capture her if she was found alone! How can you face Tsunade-sama after she put her trust in you for this mission?! " Yamato shouted.

I clenched my fist, no longer focusing on healing myself. "Shut up, Captain Yamato! Don't you think Naruto feels bad enough?! He knows he was wrong, it's written all over his face, but you don't need to keep going and shoving it in his face! People make mistakes, and this time Naruto made one, I'm sure he won't make that same mistake again!"

Yamato's eyes widened as well as did Kakashi's eye. My face was bright with anger from both of them as I stood up, ignoring the pain in my body and stomped over to Naruto. Dragging him to his feet I marched over to our campsite. Naruto looked at me wide eyed as I continued to pull him, Kakashi and Yamato following after us silently.

My steps grew slower as more blood dripped to the floor, my vision grew fuzzy as my body finally grew to realize how much blood I've lost and how much chakra I've used today. When my body finally shut down I fell to the ground as everything went dark.

3rd Person..... In Konoha.....

Two cloaked figures walked towards the entrance of Konoha. The slightly shorter figure has a large sword strapped to their back while the other person had an average size sword strapped to their waist by a blood red stash.

"Ne, Zero-chan, do you really think your cousin will be here?" A childish male's voise asked.

"She better be, I'll be annoyed if we walked all the way here to find out that she's not here." Zero replied, annoyance laced in her smooth voice.

Her company sighed as well, "Yeah, From the pictures I've seen, she's really kawaii."

"Shut up, Ichiro, you're not going to date my cousin." Zero growled.

The teen glanced at the shorted female, taking in her white long hair and strange eyes. While most were imitated by her glare from her red and black eyes, Ichiro on the other hand only laughed at them. "Well now it's going to be my goal to make your cousin mine. Not that I mind though, I was planning on it from the beginning when I heard the stories of her and saw her picture."

Zero rolled her unmatching eyes,"Like I would let you even try."

Ichiro raised an eyebrow. "You let me? Last time I checked, I could match even with you in a spar, what makes you think you can stop me?"

She ignored him, as they had approached the gates. Zero looked at the two sleeping guards and sighed, "I don't know if I should take the sleeping guards as a good or bad thing."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Ichiro asked, tilting his head to the side, his black hair falling in one of his blue eyes.

"Either they don't get attacked much, or these two are just shitty guards." Zero smirked, "Oh well, come on, lets go see the Hokage."

Tsunade stared at the two figured in front of her, her eyes hard. Her assistant, Shizune, seemed to share the same look as Tsunade.

"What did you just say?" Tsunade asked, as if to give the two people another chance.

The tall male teen smiled childishly at Tsunade. She studied the male for a moment, taking in his black hair, bright blue eyes, the blood red sash on his waist holding the sword, the white shirt, his black pants and his black shoes. While he seemed childish, his large amount of chakra made him someone to worry about.

Beside him stood a slightly shorted female with white hair, a genetic mutation of a red right eye and black left eye. The only color to go with her traditional white and black kimono was her long red scarf, a smirk was placed on her lips as she stared back at Tsunade.

"You heard me, I said I'm here to see my cousin, Yuki Okami." She answered.
