Chapter 39- Another Crystal user
I do not own Naruto
"What?! Where did Pervy Sage disappear to?!" My eyes cracked open as I heard shouting. My hand reached out as I patted my hand around, looking for the noise.
"He told me to give this to you and Yuki." Gamakichi muttered.
"Give it to me!" Naruto shouted.
"Will you guys shut up." I groaned as I buried my face in the grass.
"Let's get back to the village now." Gamakichi's voice said.
"Noooo. I want to stay here and sleep." I muttered.
"Come on, Yuki-chan." Naruto muttered, walking over to me and nudging me with his hand.
I swatted his hand away from me. "No. I'm going to stay right here and sleep."
He sighed before putting his arms around me and picking me up. I opened one eye to look at him, he smiled at me. "I'll just carry you, since you don't want to get up, Yuki-chan."
I stared at his smiling face blankly for a moment before smiling slightly and nuzzling my head to his chest. "Okay..."
"Yuki-chan, you have to get up now. We are at the village." Naruto muttered.
I yawned and looked up at him, blinking when I realized that we were back in Konoha. "You carried me all the way here?"
He nodded, looking a little tired. "Yeah, can we go to Ichiraku's and recover for a bit?"
I nodded and jumped out of his arms, reaching my good hand into my pocket to pull out my new wolf wallet. "I'll pay for you too, since you carried me all the way here."
He smiled, "Thank's, Yuki-chan!"
"Naruto-niichan!" We both paused to look back at Konohamaru, beside him was Akami.
"Yuki-chan!" Akami smiled running up to me to give me a hug, I smiled.
"Hey, Akami-chan." I greeted.
"I'm assuming you developed a new sexy jutsu while training in the hot springs!" Konohamaru grinned, looking at Naruto. "If that's the case, Sexy jutsu: New version!"
My eye twitched as Konohamaru seemed to turn into me. Naruto quickly reacted. "Hold on, Konohamaru!" Naruto shouted and ran over to him.
"It hurts!" Konohamaru complained as Naruto hit him over the head.
My face was burning as all of the men looked from Konohamaru then looking at me. "Konohamaru, I'm going to kill you!" I growled.
Akami seemed to be frozen, her ears sticking up as well as her tail. I marched over to Konohamaru, my face scarier than Sakura's when she's angry.
Konohamaru's eyes widened as I approached.
Akami and I sat on a roof top as Naruto and Konohamaru had gone out to train. "What Konohamaru did back there, was that..."
I buried my face in my hand. "I'd rather not talk about it."
"Yuki-chan, can we train some time again?" Akami muttered, her pink tail swishing around.
I glanced at her, a smile formed on my face. "Sure, one my arm is healed, which should be soon since I've been speeding the recovery, I'll try to show you some more wind-nature techniques."
She grinned, her feline teeth poking out. "Okay!"
"So, how's being a ninja?" I asked.
"It's been... boring. We don't get any exciting missions! The last one that we really got to do anything on was when you took us on that mission. Even when Konohamaru complains Hokage-sama dosen't give in." Akami complained.
"She's had to deal wit Naruto-kun and I. I think everyone has had lots of practice of how to avoid giving in because of us two." I giggled. Looking down at my arm, I notice the throbbing pain had disappeared. I placed my good hand on the bandaged arm and checked to see if it was still broken.
A grin formed onto my face when it came out all healed. Akami looked at me when she saw me take off the cast. Shattered pieces were scattered on the ground as I ripped off the cast. "Yosh! I'm all healed up!" I grinned waving around my arm.
I looked at Akami placing a finger to my lips. "But don't tell Sakura-san that I took off my cast. She'll kill me if she found out." Akami nodded a smile on her face.
"Yuki-san!" Both of us froze at Sakura's voice.
I glanced behind us to look at Sakura. "Oh, hey Sakura-san!"
"Tsunade-sama has a mission for us. We leave tomorrow with Captain Yamato. She said there is a crystal user there too." Sakura informed.
My eyes widened, "A crystal user?"
Sakura nodded, "Yeah, but there is one condition. You can't tell Naruto, because Orochimaru may be apart of the mission and last time he lost control."
I looked down but nodded, "I understand, besides I don't want him around Orochimaru anyway."
To help strengthen my arms I was walking around the village, but I wasn't using my legs. Sweat dripped down my face as I walked with my arms. "It's been a while since I've done this. I'll start getting weak if I don;t do it more often." I muttered to myself as I continued, ignoring the people staring.
"Uh, Yuki-san, what are you doing?" I looked up to see Sai and Naruto.
I smiled as I looked at them upside down. "I'm training. Since my arm was in that case, I'm building up me strength up in it again. I haven't done this training in a while."
Naruto sighed. "Yuki-chan, don't you think people are going to stare at you strangely, walking around the village on your hands?"
"Why? Wouldn't they be used to it by now? With Gai sensei and Lee around here anyway." I said.
"Hey, wait Sai, didn't you just say you got a new mission?" Naruto said, my eyes widened as I remembered Sakura told me about it, but it was supposed to be a secret from Naruto.
I flipped onto my feet, staring at Sai. He opened his eyes wide to look Naruto in the eye. "No, I did not get a new mission. So you shouldn't worry and continue training." He seemed to be invading Naruto's personal space as Naruto backed up.
"Okay, I get it, but why are you acting so strangly?" Naruto asked. "Could it be you're hiding something from me?"
I looked at Sai, my eye twitching. 'Great, Naruto, who's mostly an unobservant baka, is going to find out because of Sai. If I were to step in now, it would be to obvious.'
Sai glanced away, "Not at all."
Naruto seemed to smile a knowing smile. "No, I think something's going on." He then seemed to invade Sai's personal space, making him drop his bag.
I slapped my hand to my face as I read the book that came out of the bag. "How to lie?" Naruto muttered.
'Damn it Sai... You just had to buy a book on that, didn't you?' I thought angrily.
I sighed, standing next to my team- Captain Yamato, Sakura, and Sai. We stood facing the village, waiting for Naruto. "Looks like we weren't able to hide it from him very well." I muttered, "He can be suck a baka at times, but he's also very observant when needed."
"I'm sorry," Sai looked down.
I patted him on the head. "It's fine, Sai-san. I'll just have to work a little bit harder."
Sakura smiled at Sai, "Yeah, it's okay Sai. To be honest I figured it would be impossible anyway, with Yuki on this mission as well."
"Hey! What are you trying to say?" I asked looking at Sakura, who seemed to panic before sighing.
"You and Naruto are best friends," She paused, muttering something else I couldn't hear. "And you tell each other everything, so I just figured that you might have let this slip."
I sighed, "I guess I can't be mad at you for that, but I know how to keep secretes from Naruto-kun when it involves his safety. And I figured, this involves his safety to a point, so I knew how to keep it a hidden."
I stopped talking when I saw Sai looking more depressed. "It's okay Sai-san, it was you first time having to tell a lie to a friend."
"He even forced Hokage-sama to let him go." Sai muttered.
"Tsunade-sama isn't somebody that would just give in like that." Yamato interrupted.
I chuckled, rubbing my head. "Eh, I don't know, she seems to give in all the time with Naruto-kun and I. But either way, if Granny Tsunade said I could go without me having to do what Naruto-kun did, then it should be just fine."
"And don't forget, it will be easier work when we're all together." Sakura smiled, before it turned to a look of irritation. "But still, Naruto is late."
I giggled, "He's probably getting some last minute training in."
After ten more minuted of waiting Sakura growled and grabbed onto my arm. "That's it, let's go get him, Yuki-san."
"Why do I have to go too?" I asked as she dragged me off with her.
"Because, you're better at sensing chakra than I am." She said, I blinked before smiling slightly.
"Well, if that's the case, then Naruto-kun's the other direction, Sakura-san." I said, pointing towards the training fields.
She paused, her face turning pink before she turned around, and dragged me with her. "I knew that." She muttered.
"Naruto!" Sakura and I shouted, jumping down from the trees in front of Naruto and his summoning.
I narrowed my eyes as I noticed that Naruto was wet, and seemed to smell strangely. I wrinkled my nose, turning away from him.
Sakura dusted off her gloved hands. "Geeze, you've got more important things to do than dilly-dallying in a place like this."
"Naruto-kun. You smell bad, what were you doing?" I asked as I held my nose.
Sakura looked at me before looking at Naruto and leaning in closer to sniff him. Once she got a good smell of him she too was holding her nose. "You smell like fish! What the hell made you like that?"
"Well, you see it;s like.." Naruto muttered sheepishly. "Because I was in a-"
"Anyway, everyone's waiting on you, so come on." I muttered, grabbing onto his ear and dragging him with me.
"O-Ouch! W-Wait a minute, Yuki-chan! I need some more prac-"
"You have no saw in this! I'll grab the baka's bag, Yuki-san." Sakura said, following me.
I bit my thumb, drawling blood before making handsigns. Slamming my hand into the ground, I exclaimed, "Summoning jutsu!"
My eye twitched when I noticed the white wolf that had answered my summoning. Rain looked up at me, she seemed to have grown a lot since I last saw her.
I pointed a finger at her, "H-Hey! Last time I summoned you, you were to my hips! Now you're to my shoulders!"
She stared at me, "I'm going to be the Alpha, of course I'm going to grow faster than most and much bigger. I'm going to be as tall as my Dad someday."
I sighed, "Great, a girl like you with so much attitude problems is going to be as big as Alpha."
She growled, pressing her furry forehead against mine. "What was that, you crystal runt?"
"Who are you calling a runt? I'm still taller than you!" I growled.
"Um, Yuki-chan, I don't think I remember this one." Naruto muttered as my team looked at the wolf and I.
I huffed, crossing my arms and looking away. "This is Rain-"
"Alpha Rain!" The wolf growled. "Stupid crystal runt."
I turned around and pointed my finger at her. "If anything it's Konoha's crystal wolf! You stupid wolf!"
Her eye twitched as once again our foreheads were pressed against each other. "Oh, so now you're trying to use the wolf name, huh?"
"Yuki! We are short on time." Sakura shouted, pulling the wolf and I apart. "Is your wolf going to help us, or do you just need to use sage mode?"
I huffed, but before I could say anything Rain muttered. "I'll help, geeze every time you summon me you're always in need of my help. Useless crystal runt."
"Is that your new nickname for me or something?" I asked, my eyebrow twitching.
"Does it annoy you?" She asked.
"Yes, it really does." I answered.
A smirk formed on her wolfie face. "Then yes, that's my new nickname for you."
Naruto snickered as I grinded my teeth while the rest of my team just stared at the two of us. "She's just like my summoning."
Both of us looked at him. "It isn't funny, Naruto!" I shouted.
"I'm noting like your idiotic toads!" Rain shouted.
He quickly stopped snickering as he looked at the both of us. Huffing I looked at Rain. "You remember Kakashi sensei's sent, right?"
"Of course I do, I'm not like all of the other wolf's, crystal runt. I'll lead you right to him." I smirked when she paused as she sniffed around.
"What's wrong? Can't get a sent or something?" I asked.
She huffed and sat down. "It's very faint, but I can get a small sent going that way. I won't really be able to track it though, so all I can do it give you the direction it was in. Besides, I was in the middle of training before you summoned me."
I smiled, "Thank's Rain, I guess you can go since you won't be much help anyway."
Her eye twitched, "Alpha Rain! And I would be plenty of help, I just don't want to help you, crystal runt!" With that, she unsummoned herself.
I stood there with my cheeks puffed out. "Stupid wolf. Didn't help much anyway, we already knew the direction."
"Yuki?" I ignored Sakura as I turned and walked for the direction Rain had pointed to.
We stopped as we got closer to our meeting point. Yamato looked around, "If things are going as planned, then they shouldn've left somesign behind."
"I don't see anything like that though." Sakura sighed.
"Geeze," Naruto said. "Did they forget that we were coming to back them up?"
"That might not be the case." I said, looking around. "Something might have happened to them, or they don't want to give out their location to the enemy."
"Sai, Yuki." Yamato said, both of us looked at him. "Yuki, use your sage mode to try to get a good reading of the place, maybe you'll find them. Sai, do some reconnaissance from the sky."
"Understood." Sai nodded.
"Okay." I said before closing my eyes and collecting natural energy.
I heard Sai take off before Naruto said something. "Please wait here for a second!"
'He's probably going to try to train some more again...' I thought, mentally smiling.
"We're on a mission! Where do you think you're going?!" Sakura shouted angrily.
"I have to pee!" Naruto shouted, a quick excuse.
My body stayed perfectly still as I concentrated on the natural chakra around me. My body was undergoing the normal changes that happens with my sage mode. Along with that, I was becoming more aware of the presence of chakra around me.
My wolf-like eyes snapped open as I sensed a chakra spike around Naruto. Jumping over the rock that he had left to I saw him just standing there.
"Naruto-kun-" I stopped when I noticed the other chakra presence had disappeared.
Naruto looked at me, "Hey, Yuki-chan. Did you ever meet a little boy? Cause he had a crystallized camellia, and as far as I know, you're the only one that can do that."
My eyes widened slightly before I shook my head. "No, I've never done anything like that, and I haven't met a little boy."
He seemed confused before he turned to look back at someone, he blinked when he realized that none was there. While he muttered to himself, I looked at my team. "I can sense Shino's kikaichuu."
Sai nodded, "Yes, and I have located it as well."
Yamato nodded to us, "Very good you two. Naruto, come on, we've located Shino's kikaichuu."
"Yosh!" Naruto smiled and turned to walk to us.
Sakura stood with her hands on her hips. "What took you so long?"
"Sorry, I just met someone." Naruto smiled.
I grinned, "Yeah, like a ghost."
The blonde froze, looking at me slowly. "Don't say things like that, Yuki-chan."
I laughed, "I almost forgot, you're afraid of ghost. I guess I know the future Hokage's greatest fear." i joked.
He looked away, a small pout on his face. "Shut up, and that's not my greatest fear."
I leaned in to him, a eyebrow raised teasingly. "Oh? Then what is, Uzumaki-kun?"
He turned red as he looked away from me. "Nothing you need to worry about."
I froze as there was another chakra spike. I turned around sharply, looking in the directions of the chakra spike. "We need to hurry, I believe the enemy is starting to attack." I spoke while doing handsigns.
"Crystal release: Jade crystal blade." I muttered as crystal formed on my forearms, although unlike the usual jade green crystal, it was multi-colored. Ignoring the small change in my crystal I took off running towards the chakra that I knew to be Kakashi.
"Hey, Yuki wait!" I ignored Yamato as I kept running.
I came to a stop by a barrier, one made of crystal. "So this was the chakra I felt." I muttered, my eyes widening as I looked at the red crystal.
My team caught up to me quickly, Naruto seemed confused. "Yuki-chan, why did you put up a barrier?"
I shook my head, "I didn't, we're dealing with a crystal user. This will be harder than I thought, crystal is hard to break through, and I'm sure he or she has sealed up everything, sealing Kakashi sensei and team eight with them."
I looked up, "The only chance I can thing of is trying to go above the crystal." I glanced at Sai. "Sai-san."
He nodded and drew a bird before flying up to the top of the crystal.
"If this dosen't work, then I'm going to have to try to break through the crystal." I muttered, glancing down at the blades on my forearms.
"Yuki, are you sure about this?" Yamato asked as I stood ready to try to break the crystal.
"Yes, but it's going to take a lot from all of us." I paused, a smirk forming. "Say, Naruto-kun, how about you try that new jutsu on this wall, at the same time as me."
Naruto smirked as well, "I guess it couldn't hurt."
Both of us performed handsigns, Naruto's for his summoning, and mine for a sword. "Summoning jutsu!" Naruto exclaimed at the same time as I said, "Crystal sword jutsu!"
"Preparations complete." Gamatasu muttered, Naruto standing behind him.
I nodded, "Okay, when I say three, we shoot at this crystal wall with all we've got." My grip on the multi-colored sword tightened as my legs tensed. "One," Naruto placed his hands on Gamatsu's back. "Two," Gamatasu took in a deep breath. "Three!"
I charged at the crystal wall, my sage mode adding to my speed and strength. My sword collided with the crystal wall, slicing through it. Although, unlike planned Naruto didn't shoot out a blast of water.
I sighed as Naruto yelled at Gamatasu. "I guess I'll just have to slice up this crystal wall."
"You were able to get your sword through it?" Sakura asked, jumping down towards me.
I nodded, swiping the blade out of the wall. "Yeah, it seems that my crystal is a little stronger than this person's chakra."
I took in a deep breath, focusing more chakra to my strangth as I took off running at the wall again. "Yosh!" I shouted as I slashed at the wall, making a wave of chakra erupt from my sword as well. Dust rose from the ground as I made a hole in the wall.
I panted, a smile forming on my face as I saw the hole made. 'I didn't know I could do that with this sword, I thought it was just like a regular sword...'
"Good job, Yuki." Yamato nodded as we walked through the crystal wall. I blinked when I looked back at the crystal, noticing it cracking before it shattered.
"I guess this person's crystal style dosen't compare to mine at all." I chuckled, before running towards Kakashi's chakra. "Let's go quickly."
"Kakashi sensei!" Sakura smiled as we jumped beside him. I stayed in a fighting stance, noticing the woman in front of us also had crystal blades on her forearms.
But my blood boiled when I saw Hinata beside her, stuck in a crystal. "You bastard." I growled, due to being in my sage mode it sounded more animistic than normal.
She looked at us, her eyes pausing on me. "M-Mai-chan?" She asked before laughing. "Wait, Mai's dead! You must be the Mai look alike, Yuru? No, Yuli."
I clenched my fist. "Yuki, Yuki Okami!"
"Oh, that's right. You're the little crystal girl that Orochimaru-sama seems to want." She said.
'How the hell does she know Mom?' I thought, glaring at the woman in front of me.
"It's strange, you really do favor your mother. I always thought that the child looks like the father." She muttered.
Naruto seemed to finally get a glance at Hinata. "You bitch! What did you do to Hinata?!"
She only smirked at Naruto before looking at me again. "Was it you who broke my Crystal wall?"
"Who else do you think did it?" I sneered.
She tilted her head, "That attitude, that's not like Mai-chan at all. No, more like that Teno bastard she hooked up with."
"What did you just say?" I growled.
"Shut up about Yuki's parent's!" Naruto growled. "You know nothing about them!"
She looked at him, leaning on the crystal that she had Hinata in. "I don't, do I? Mai-chan and I are from the same village, I'm sure you know it, Yuki. The Kessho village, we would still be living there is they didn't make us leave for our 'safety'."
"Hinata's been taken hostage, don't act too reckless, Yuki. She's taunting you, don't let her do it." Kakashi said, I looked down at the ground and took a deep breath as I tried to calm down.
"I'm sure Yuki know's this already, but that crystal's very fragil. Even the slightest bump and it will shatter-"
"With Hinata-san still inside, killing her with it." I interrupted Kakashi.
"If you pull back, and give up that crystal girl, I'll give up the hostage." She smirked, Naruto stood on Gamatasu muttering his plans.
Yamato took a step forward, her eyes shot to him. "I don't want anyone moving, unless it's little Yuki there."
"Now, Gamatasu!" Naruto shouted.
"Stop, Naruto!" Kakashi shouted as Naruto shot a jet of water at the crystal lady.
She raised her arm and touched the water, turning it to crystal. My eyes widned as I watched this, 'She didn't use any handseals!'
"My crystal element can crystallize anything I touch. I'm guessing Yuki hasen't learned this yet, as her mother's all gone and she lives in the leaf, with no other crystal users." She chuckled, making the crystallized water form into a dragon.
She made the dragon charge at Naruto, I jumped in front of him forming my own handsigns. "Crystal Release: Crystal dragon!"
Quicker than her dragon, mine formed and just like my other two crystal jutsu's it formed into a multi-colored dragon. The two dragons clashed at each other.
"Multi-colored crystal..." She muttered before forcing a smirk on her face. "Not bad, for a girl without any real training from a crystal user."
Everyone jumped a little distance away as I stood with the woman, our crystal dragons fighting. It seemed to be that mine was winning.
'I'll have to distract her, hopefully everyone can take a chance to get Hinata.' I thought.
"Yuki, we'll lend a hand." I looked beside me to see Yamato and Kakashi, both looking determined.
I nodded before glaring at the crystal user in front of me, pointing a finger at her. "You better return Hinata-san to us, or things will get bloody."
She raised an eyebrow, "Oh? From who? A little girl who's had no real training with her crystal release, that's no threat. But the Copy ninja, he may be a little more difficult."
"I'll replace her as hostage." Kakashi said.
She laughed, "How stupid, I already said I want her, not you Copy ninja." She pointed to me.
I watched as she jumped onto her pink crystal dragon and charged at us. I let my dragon block her path before Naruto and Gamatasu appeared behind Hinata. "Gamatasu, now!" Naruto shouted.
She turned around and lunged for Hinata as Gamatasu wrapped his tongue around the crystal and puller her to his mouth. They both disappeared before the crystal user got to them.
I smirked as my dragon then charged at her's and made moth of them disappear. She looked back at us, I glared as I formed a handseal and disappeared with Yamato and Kakashi.
"It's safe now, Gamatasu, you can let her out." Naruto said.
"Gamatasu, let her out gently!" Gamakichi ordered.
I watched as he slowly let her down, but when a fly flew by his face he accidentally let Hinata fall to the ground. My eyes widened as I ran over to the crystal and inspected it. I sighed when no harm had come to it.
"What the hell were you doing, retard!" Gamakichi growled.
My eyes widened as I realized that it stared cracking. "Shit!"
"No! Stop it! Stop it!" Naruto ordered as the crack spread.
I placed my hands on the crystal, some of my crystal chakra going to my hands to stop the crack. Luckily it seemed to work.
"Shit, was I too late?" I looked up to see Pakun.
"Pakun?" Kakashi muttered, his eye widening.
While Pakun, kakashi, Yamato, Shino, and Sai went to talk I sat beside Hinata in the crystal. I placed my hands gently on it pink crystal. Closing my eyes I focused on Hinata, hoping that she herself wasn't crystallized.
A sigh of relief escaped me as I could still feel Hinata's chakra and her organs working. "Hinata's still alive, so she's not crystallized." I muttered.
Naruto, Sakura, and Kiba looked at me. "You sure?"
I nodded, "I'm sure, I can still feel her chakra, as well as her organs working, which means she's not crystallized."
"Yuki-chan, there's something you can do, right? I mean, you're a crystal user too, so can't you get her out?" Naruto asked.
I looked down to the ground, "I-I don't know. She was right, I wasn't really trained to work with my crystal chakra, and if I work with this, I could kill Hinata."
I looked back at Hinata as the crystal suddenly broke. "Hinata!" I looked down to see her body still there.
Sakura and I reacted quickly, she listened to Hinata's heart while I placed my hands on her. A green hue glowed around my hands as I checked for any injuries, or crystallization going on.
"It's fine! She's alive!" Sakura smiled.
They looked at me, I smiled as well. "And there is no crystallization going on."
"Really?" Naruto asked.
"Thank goodness!" Kiba smiled.
I cleared my throat. "Now that we know Hinata-san's okay, Akamaru-kun!" I jumped over Kiba and Naruto to hug Akamaru.
The huge dog yipped and wagged his tail as I snuggled his head.
"H-Hey! You're trying to take me dog again! We're on a mission, Yuki!" Kiba shouted, I stopped my nuzzling with Akamaru to stare at Kiba blankly.
"I'm not trying to take him at the moment. I just wanted to see if my favorite part-time dog was okay." I defended.
Kiba's eye twitched as I went back to hugging Akamaru.
"How it is though, that my bugs were crystallized, but Hinata wasn't?" Shino muttered.
I looked back at them. "I think Hinata-san had surrounded her body with chakra, protecting her from being crystallized."
"What do you mean?" Kakashi asked.
"We may be able to crystallize things, but I know for sure that we can't crystallize another person's chakra." I said and looked to Hinata, who had just woken up.
She nodded, "Y-Yes, Yuki-s-san is right. I-I did surround my b-body with c-chakra."
Kakashi smiled a closed eye smile at Hinata. "You did ver well, Hinata."
She smiled shyly. "Yes."
Kiba smiled at her, "Just what I'd expect! You're amazing, Hinata!"
"I'm glad you're safe." Naruto smiled.
"I'm sorry, Naruto-kun. I-I guess I m-made you worry." Hinata stammered.
Something in me stirred, and it wasn't a nice feeling. One that made me feel guilty that it was directed towards Hinata.
"There's no need to apologize, Hinata." Naruto smiled.
Sakura glanced at me, a smirk on her face as she saw me looking at Hinata then at Naruto. I glanced away from them and looked to the ground. My fist clenched as I thought back to the crystal woman.
