Prologue
I was walking through the woods carefully, fully aware that I was in another pack's territory, but if I wanted to get away from them.
I had to cross.
So when I heard a twig snap my wolf, Celeste, went into alert mode. Ready to attack if necessary.
It was eerily quiet, then I heard leaves crumble under foot as whoever it was stumbled through the forestry. I could feel Celeste tense, but I tried to keep my breathing even so I could listen better. We couldn't afford to make any irrational decisions.
I listened while the steps got closer, the suspense caused goosebumps to flood across my skin. My head felt heavy and light at the same time and as I struggled to push down my fear, I tried to extend my senses around me. I needed to assess the level of danger, my fight or flight instincts were all I have with me, they hadn't seen the need to teach us how to fight back home.
During my search of the surroundings my sensitive eyes picked up on a figure and my breath hitched, my was pulse drumming in my ears causing everything to sound muffled. I could feel Celeste, her muscles were coiled tightly like a spring, she was waiting for her chance to spring forward and take control.
They've found me. And I was going to die.
I tried to stay calm, controlling my breathing and getting into a defensive stance slowly, trying to draw as little attention to myself as possible.
Celeste was prepared to shift if needs be and fight till death. I watched as the shadowy figure become more solid, more real.
I had secretly hoped I was imagining this. These past few days I was stuck wishing everything was a dream.
Just when the figure was coming into view it fell, then whimpered?
I cautiously went up to the figure, still in defence mode, prepared to attack if needs be. The anticipation I was feeling ebbed into curiosity when I neared the figure. It had to be about 3 feet tall, not very threatening if you ask me. Upon closer inspection I realized it was just a child, no more than probably three or four years old.
Relief flooded my body making my knees go week in the process. I sent up prayers to the Moon Goddess. Thanking her profusely, relieved I will live to see maybe a few more hours, enough time for me to figure something out.
I put my focus back on the child, studying her carefully, why was a child wandering in the woods?
The young child sniffled then looked up at me with big, glassy round eyes. "I want go home" she said.

Update: April 21, 2018.
Hi humans. Lmao so like I wrote this book a while back (I was 15, bout roun' 2015 or so) like I have so many chapters, some were published, some weren't. I unpublished the book too, but it's back up and I'm gonna edit it and change a few things.
So now it's kinda weird lmao.
But bear with me.
Also I'm changing the female lead's name from Felicity to Grace.
Edited chapters will be indicated with an asterisk. If you see mistakes be free to point em out.
