Declaration of No Love
[edited]
I had stayed in my room all morning thinking about what to do. After hours of going over it. I finally made my decision.
I am leaving.
After washing up I made my way to Caleb's office. I knocked and turned the knob when I heard him say enter.
Gabe was inside and I suddenly felt stupid about my impulsive behavior , maybe I could wait...obviously they had important things to do.
"Ugh sorry, I can come back later." I mumbled quickly turning around to leave.
"Its okay I think we're done here." Gabe said throwing Caleb a questioning gaze. To which he nodded.
"Yeah we're through he's all yours." He said holding my gaze.
"Where's Matt!" I blurted, maybe having some else here when I try to tell Caleb will make things easier.
Gabe let a small frown grace his features before answering "He's gone to the borders to make sure no more rogues get in."
I nodded. Too bad.
"Ugh Alpha is it okay if Gabe stayed here I have something important to say." I fiddled with the hem of yet another one of Caleb's t-shirts.
I really need some clothes.
I thought idly.
Well I must have been lost in my stupid thoughts because next thing I know Caleb is less that six inches away from me. He cupped my chin forcing me to look him in the eyes.
"Call me Caleb." He said then added "Isn't it weird that I don't know you're name?"
"Its Grace." Gabe supplied then added
"I must go."
I looked at Caleb with pleading eyes. He thankfully understood that this was important.
"Stay Gabriel, Grace has something she'd like to say."
He nodded curtly.
And went to take the seat he was in earlier.
Caleb took his too and motioned to the empty one next to Gabe.
I hurriedly sat down then after a few seconds of awkward silence i blurted.
"I'm leaving... well I have to go , its final really I should go, so yeah I'm leaving. Ugh... yeah so like bye I guess."
I rushed out and got up to leave.
"What!" Caleb growled out "What do you mean."
(Haha Justin Bieber)
"Sit." He said and I faltered so he shouted louder "Sit dammit!"
I plopped down in the chair. And sighed.
I really hoped this would be easier for me... guess not.
"What do you mean you have to go ?" Caleb said sneering, disgust evident in his voice as he said go like it tasted bitter in his mouth.
His eyes had shifted to deep pools of black obviously Tyler wasn't taking this good. Celeste put up a fight too but I managed to assure her its for the best.
"I have to go..." He growled again
I cleared my throat and forced myself to continue looking him square in the eyes.
" I'm the last white wolf left and I have been running for a year now, the oracle is dead, all of them.... you know them as the archangels but whatever the point is, we were invaded the men were killed the women raped in order to create a stronger breed of wolves some of the women thought it was to create an army,"
"who knows but they said I was chosen blah blah, so I got away, the other sacrificed themselves for me. But they are coming I have to keep moving I have to get away. I had a weird dream, they're coming, I can feel it, they want me. I'm all that's left so you have to let me go. I have to leave."
I looked up at him with pleading eyes. Hoping he'd understand.
He stared at me for a while nose flaring, eyes shining with untamed fury.
"Oh god..." Celeste murmured.
"He's so hot like that I'd love to..."
I cut her off... I didn't need any distractions.
"Who are they?" Caleb asked bringing me from my thoughts.
I answered honestly.
"I don't know, nobody knew for sure. They never shifted, hell they could be werewolf hunters or vampires for all we knew, they just wanted pups and they killed to get it."
I don't know how I am so calm. Maybe I was scared to the point of numbness, or maybe I felt safer some how with these people... most likely the first one.
"You're not leaving me." Caleb said he voice was dangerously calm.
I never understood how I never felt anything towards him, I once visited a pack and this one girl explained how her mate made her feel. Fire she had said she felt on fire.
She had felt something.
I've been here a while and I feel nothing. Is something wrong with me? Yeah sure Celeste made her claim but who wouldn't, even without a mate bond some wolves were attracted to each other.
Was it lust or love Celeste felt.
White wolves didn't have mates, as I said only the first two white wolves reproduced. Somehow they never died over the centuries. Others did though, I guess they didn't age like us. Maybe its because the Moon Goddess made them so.
"Felicity!" Gabe called out shaking me out of my daze.
"Hmmm?" I looked up at him curiously. He's been quiet the whole time.
"You spaced out a little." He whispered.
Oh
I turned back to look at Caleb who had calmed down now.
"I'm grateful for your hospitality but really I don't want your pack to get caught up in this..." I looked down at my hands "too many people have died already."
"You're my mate I'm not letting you go."
I sighed.
"Caleb all white wolves come from the Same parents we don't have mates, we wouldn't need them anyways since we can't have pups. Which is why I can't put you all in danger. So us..."
I used my hand to gesture between us
"Is not what you think it is."
Both he and Gabe had baffled expressions. I guess they didn't know that.
"Well how do you explain this urge I am feeling to protect you?" He asked warily.
"Maybe in the future I would have been the archangel responsible for this pack, who knows?" I shrugged.
"But..." He trailed off frustrated.
"I'll give you some time I'm gonna be downstairs, I'll be leaving by tonight though."
I got up and walked out. Aware that Gabe was right behind me
Well that's that, now how to get them to leave me the hell alone.
