I didn't even blink three times yet and I was surrounded by wolves all of them bigger than me.

Was I scared? ...yeah.
Was I shaking? ...duh.
Was I able to fight? ...no, not after the exhausting walk.
Was I going to die? ...I'm pretty sure I am.

So I did the one thing I could when I saw a big brown one charge at me, I turned around and shielded the baby.

I felt the claw dig into my back and I whimpered. I could feel the child stirring awake. The wolf in me not wanting her to get hurt. I did the best I could to keep her safe.

Celeste went into mother mode, I hadn't shifted because that was risky, no one dared mess with a child though and with strength I didn't know I had I punched a wolf in its jaw. It howled out and so did I...

Wait I shifted..."No Celeste"
I pleaded but she had other ideas, "the child must be kept safe" was all she said.

I hadn't expected the reaction I got but I looked at the ten or so wolves surrounding me and growled. They stood frozen, almost cowering, I wasn't that big or anything.

I was just, a pure white wolf.

The only one left.
