"Gabby! Angel!" Britt excitedly scrambled over to us. I laughed and bend down so she could run into my arms.

I groaned

"Gosh Britt I swear you're heavier than when I last held you."

She giggled and looked at Gabe over my shoulder

"Gabby tell Angel I've grown."

I laugh. "Yeah you have grown."

"Grace" I heard Matt calling me I turned excitedly to see him jogging up to us.

"Hey Matt." I said smiling "I haven't seen you much." I frowned.

You're leaving soon, soon it won't matter.

My conscience jeered.

"Hey Britt wanna go play with Gabe for a while I have to say something important to Matt."

She nodded and bounded over to Gabe, pulling him to a patch of daises, she was talking while gesturing wildly I smiled.

"Matt I...." How do I say this to hurt him less. They have been so nice and here I am giving them false hope and then smashing it.

"Matt I'm leaving tonight, I know you don't understand but Caleb will explain. I really wish I could stay, you've all been so nice and i will miss you terribly but... I have to go." I rushed out.

I then looked down, avoiding Matt's eyes.

"What!" He sputtered "But your the Luna and..." He trailed off looking back at Caleb's house. "He can't let you leave, I won't let him."

He was now storming off to no doubt cuss Caleb out.

I glanced at Britt and Gabe who were now staring at us, I huffed and stormed after Matt.

From all the way down the hall I heard the shouting. I quickly opened the door.

"She can't stay for reasons only she can explain." Caleb said calmly.

"What the hell! She's our Luna, you're her mate stop her."

"I can't." Caleb mumbled.

"But I don't understand." Matt said softly.

I was hurting everyone and I was only here two days now.

"Guys stop" I said "Matt sit I'll explain everything.

They both looked up at me surprised I was there. Matt nodded and sat I down too.

"I'm a white wolf as you know..."

After explaining to Matt he just sat there speechless. "B-but you..." He trailed off then ran his hand through his hair.

Suddenly the door burst open "No! Angel you can't leave me, Caleb can't braid." It was Brit.

She wailed, running to wrap her arms around my legs. I looked up, a dejected Gabe leaned at the door.

"I-i won't leave you Britt." I said and sighed. She had latched onto my heart the first time I saw her.

She looked up at me with glassy eyes "pwomise?" She asked holding up her head to look me straight in the eye. How could I resist.

"Cross my heart and hope to die." I said then added "I promise Britt."

She smiled up at me through her tears. And I knew there's no turning back, I'm keeping this promise whether it killed me or not.

All my hopes of a clean break just crushed.

Matt was grinning.

"Its settled then, we get to keep Grace."

I looked up at him and smiled a little.

I looked at the doorway Gabe was gone.

What's his problem?

A month later

"Ready or not here I come." I heard Matt yell.

We were playing hide and seek and Britt was currently in my arms shaking with excitement. We were in Caleb's closet.

I heard Matt enter the room and I tensed. Britt let out a little giggle.

"hmm wonder where they are."

I knew Matt could hear us and knew where we were. He was stalling for Britt's thrill.

"Are they under the bed?"

After some exaggerated shuffling he mumbled again.

"Maybe its in here " he flung the closet open and Brit squealed as he pulled her out of my arms and tickled her stomach .

She was hysterical, he then looked up at me with a mysterious grin.

I backed up

"No matt...no!"

I squealed as he grabbed me and started tickling me, somehow I ended up on the floor gasping for air as Brit giggled.

Then I saw Gabe at the door.

"Oh god please-- save-- me!" I begged he stood frozen, eyes wide for a while then he turned as and walked away.

Suddenly Matt stopped and went quiet, I figured he's in mind link mode as he got up off me.

He then pulled me up

"Gabe says Caleb needs me at the pack house, I'm going to take Brit to her nanny while I'm at it."

I nodded and followed them to the door I kissed Brit goodbye and ruffled Matt's hair.

"Call of duty later?"

I grinned "hell yeah"

I shut the door and leaned against it nearly having a heart attack when I saw Gabe.

"Holy shi..." I trailed off "Damn Gabe what you trying to do, kill me."

He spoke gruffly.

"There are easier ways you know."

That's gabe for you a bundle of joy.

I grumbled then remembered earlier.

"Hey you could've helped you know!" I said accusingly.

"You seemed fine to me." He said still frigid.

"You obviously took my advice to loosen up." I mumbled going to the kitchen

"Yea I did."

He said following me.

I groaned.

"You're so frustrating."

Over the past month I haven't seen Gabe a lot, but I have met a lot of pack members and I fit in fine. I also learnt a lot.

Like how Caleb is Brits brother and how their parents died in the same rouge attack as Gabe's mate.

Its been good so far admittedly I'm not sad or regretting anything.

But I'm scared they will find me.

And the nightmares are horrible no amount of fun can keep it away, its always there like a predator.

Waiting for me to be alone so it can take me, remind me that everything isn't okay.

I feared sleep.

"Grace?"

I jumped when I saw Gabe with a frown on his face.

"I just spaced a little, sorry." I mumbled.

He walked up to me close enough to remain in eye contact with me.

I'm short sue me.

"Grace, your crying." He murmured

My hand flew up to my face and I gasped. I was.

I took one look at his face and ran.

He knew.
