Daddy's Special Gift And Delivery
Prince's POV*
It's now been seven months and I have never been happier. Marrying Grace is the best thing I have ever done, and adopting Binky. I finally have the family I've always wanted, but was so afraid to think I could have them. Grace is due any day now, and I have become a better man because the way she loves me, and seeing what a wonderful mother she is. I can finally breathe and not be so overly protective over them. Nothing is going to take them from me, and I now realize that.
"Baby, you in here?" Her sweet voice asks me. I close the lid to the piano. She wraps her arms around me.
"Hey, baby, Binky home?"
"Yes, and she made her daddy a special gift."
"She did? Well, let's go see what daddy's little princess made me," I smile. Grace grabs my hand and we walk into the kitchen to see Binky climbing up on one of the bar stools at the island.
"Daddy, come here, please. I made you a gift at uncle Jerome's," she cheers. I sit down beside her and she hands me a purple box with a purple bow. She must think I love the color purple.
"Binky, do you think daddy loves the color purple?"
"Yep, you love anything purple, daddy," she smiles causing me to laugh. I open the box and peek inside. My heart nearly stops and I try like hell not to let her see the tears welling up in my eyes. I pull out a white ceramic plaque with her hand prints, and Gregory's hand prints.
"Binky, how did you get your brother's hand prints?" I asked her. She looks over at Grace, and Grace places her hands on my shoulders.
"Yesterday I went to the hospital to see if I could get a copy of his hand prints, me and Binky wanted you to be able to at least place your hands on his hand prints," she lovingly says. I stand up and embrace her tightly next to me. Binky wraps her little arms around my waist.
"Thank you, both of you, but what made you think to do this?"
"Well, me and Bianca were talking about how the new baby will be here very soon, and when the baby is born, Bianca will be present, in the waiting room, so I thought maybe a part of your son should also be present," she smiles with tears falling down her face.
"My god, Grace, just when I think I can't possibly fall even more in love with you, you go and think to somehow make sure Gregory is also present during his brother's or sister's birth. I love you, and I love you Binky ,more than anything or anyone in the entire world. Thank you for thinking of this. I love it, I love it so much."
"We love you too, daddy. So, does this mean I can have chocolate?" She asks us. We bust out laughing.
"You're motivation is always chocolate, Binky. Mommy made some chocolate chip cookies, they're in the cookie jar.
"Grace, are you alright? I asked her. She sits down in one of the chairs and bends over.
"Oh god, Prince, my water just broke," she moans out in pain.
"Oh my god, are you sure?" She looks down at the puddle of water on the floor.
"Oh my goodness, daddy, mommy sprung a leak. Her pipes are leaking," Bianca panics. I pick her up and carry her into the family room and turn on The Little Mermaid.
"Binky, I need you to promise daddy no mater how much you hear mommy yelling, you will stay right here. I'm going to call uncle Jerome and have him to come pick you up, okay?"
"Okay, daddy, but is mommy and the baby okay? Why is she leaking water?" Her innocent voice ask with curiosity.
"Umm, well, it's the baby's way of telling mommy he, or she is wanting out, and all the water mommy drinks is being pushed out by your brother or sister," I try convincing her and can hear how ridiculous I sound. Not even a someone her age is going to buy that.
"Oh, well, how is the baby going to get out of mommy's belly, daddy?" She asks much to discomfort.
"Umm, well, Binky, daddy promises one day when you're much older, I will explain how baby's comes out of mommy's, but for right now,-"
"Prince, oh my god, where are you? Help me, please," Grace shouts from the kitchen and I feel relieved I just dodge the baby coming out of mommy bullet.
"Daddy, is mommy dying?"
"No, Binky, mommy is not dying. You keep watching your movie, uncle Jerome will be here soon," I grab my cell phone and run back into the kitchen to see Grace lying on the floor.
"Grace, baby, what are you doing lying on the cold kitchen floor? Come on baby, hold onto me," I say while helping her to living room sofa.
"Damn it, Jerome, answer your phone."
"Hello?"
"It's about damn time,"
"P?"
"Yes. You have to come back to my house and take Binky home with you again."
"Sure, but why? She was ready to come home."
"I know, but Grace's water just broke, Jerome."
"Oh my god, I really think I'm dying. Prince, you have to get me to the hospital, now," she insists.
"Oh my, P, okay, nobody panic. I am leaving right now. Don't worry about packing anything for Bianca, we have plenty of her things here at my house."
When we arrive at the hospital, they are on stand by. I had my security follow us there and the hospital security is also on the labor floor. I'm not taking any chances of the media sneaking in and taking photos of Grace in labor. I have to admit, there is also a small part of me fears Jase might have someone lurking in the shadows that we don't know about, so I have doubled up on security, especially now with Grace being pregnant.
"Mr. Nelson, we have your wife in the delivery room, she's wanting you in there with her," Dr. Briggs informs me. I make my way into her room and quickly make my way over to her. I gently grab her hand and kiss it.
"This is the day we have been waiting for, my beautiful Grace. In a few hours, we will meet our son or daughter."
"Although we didn't want to know the sex of the baby, I have a good feeling it's a boy," her sweet voice says through her smile. I place my hand on her belly and a smile forms on my face. I have been having dreams the baby is a boy, but I have been keeping that to myself.
"Grace, we haven't even thought of names yet, do you have any certain names you like?"
"Yes. I recently thought of a boys name. My instincts are telling me he's a boy."
"Okay, and what's the names you like for a boy?"
"Prince, I like the name Dalton Gregory Nelson," she says with tears in her eyes.
"Dalton Gregory?"
"I know you're best friend from high school drowned right after graduation. Don't be mad at Jerome for telling me, we started talking about my nightmare with Jase, and we somehow ended up talking about Dalton."
"I'm not mad, baby. I love the names you chose."
"You do?"
"Yes, I do. Dalton Gregory it is then," I kiss her lips and she grabs the front of my shirt.
"Grace?"
"I have to push, Prince."
"Wait, baby, let me get your doctor.
*******
"Come on, Grace, one more big push. I'm right here baby, we can do this together," I encourage her and she leans forward grabbing her knees. After a few minutes we hear the beautiful sound of our baby crying. Our eyes look down to see the miracle we created together.
"Look mommy and daddy, I'm a boy," the doctor says as he holds up our son. I'm not exactly a crying person, but seeing my new born son causes to me to have instant tears. After Gregory died, I never thought I'd have another son, but here he is, Dalton Gregory Nelson, my second chance at having another son who I love more than my life.
"Prince, are you okay?" Grace asks me. I lean down to her and press my lips on hers.
"You are the reason why I am so incredibly happy, and you are the reason why I have another son, and a beautiful daughter. My love for you, for our family will never end. I will never allow anyone to hurt you, or our family."
Two hours later*
"Oh my god, where is baby boy Nelson, Charlene?"
"What, he's in the nursery, Beth"
"No, he isn't in the nursery, he is suppose to go to his mother for his evening feeding, she asked me to bring him to her, and he isn't in the nursery."
"Excuse me, but my wife really needs Dalton, she needs to breast feed him, so if you can please give me my son, I'll take him to her."
