Chapter Five

Stiles' POV (two days later)

I sat on the sidelines of the lacrosse field looking around in the stands nervously. It was really loud and a lot of people were there. Derek had said he'd come and watch me play but I haven't spotted him yet. I was sure he was there, I just couldn't see him. Although that was no excuse because I spotted my dad and Scott's mom in the bleachers right away. I even saw Lydia, Mason, Malia and Hayden.

"Stillinski!" Coach yelled, waving me over. "You're in for Williams!"

Williams? As in Trevor Williams? I glanced around and saw Trevor being carried away on a stretcher. I frowned. Other than Scott, Liam and Kira, Trevor was Beacon Hills best lacrosse player. What the hell happened?

Walking onto the field, I scanned over everyone and saw someone on East Prep's team that I thought we'd all seen the last of. Ethan Lambert(made up his last name.can't remember what it was)Aiden's twin brother. Aiden himself died about a year or two ago but before he did, him and Ethan used to terrorize Scott and I, running around with Deucalion's Alpha pack until we had to team up and defeat a common enemy. Afterwards Aiden started hounding after Lydia like a lost puppy. But after Aiden died Ethan disappeared blaming Scott for his brother's death. Was he back for revenge? Or was he just here to play?

Ethan saw me almost the exact same moment that I saw him. I couldn't see his face under his helmet but I suspected he wasn't happy to see me.

The referee blew the whistle and the game began again. Scott got the ball, ran down the field, got blocked off by three huge guys and passed it to me. Despite the training I've been receiving from Chris, Sam and Dean it did not teach me how to win a lacrosse game. However it did teach me to react quickly to a lot of things. The minute I caught the ball with my lacrosse stick, I was sprinting down the field. I dodged two lacrosse players, got close to the goal and threw the ball. Fortunately it went in. Unfortunately, Ethan rammed into me, shoulder first, knocking me back and sending me crashing to the ground. The problem was that he fell on top of me, his elbow digging into my stomach.

I sucked in air, gasping in pain and surprise. Ethan pushed himself up so that he was hovering over me. His eyes were glowing red and I couldn't look away. And then he smiled sheepishly yet apologetic. "Sorry."

Wheezing, I struggle to say, "It's o-okay. But you're elbow is digging into my...solar plexus."

Ethan's eyes widened. "Oh shit!" He quickly climbed off of me and held out his hand. I took it and was surprised to find that they were really soft. Ethan pulled me to my feet with so much strength, I stumbled against him. I took a step back taking my helmet off. I glanced over at the bleachers again, scanning the crowd.

And there he was. Standing beside my dad, who was smiling and listening to something he was saying. It was a sight to see considering my dad used to hate him, but times have changed.

"Derek." I say. I didn't have to yell because with his werewolf hearing he should be able to hear me. He did. Derek met my eyes from the bleachers and we smiled at each other before the lacrosse field was swallowed in darkness.
