My eyes were closing themselves while I was still in Micah arms.
"You should go to sleep."
I shaked my head and grabbed his shirt closer.
But despite being stubborn, I slowly started sleeping.
When I was half asleep, I felt Micah carrying me into my bedroom.
"Stay." I told him as put the blanket over me.
He smiled and lyed down next to me.

We woke up and immediately got separated. I got to the hovercraft with everyone else and got my tracker.

Then it was just going to a silver room. I had this weird feeling in my stomach, I wanted to cry but this was not the moment.
The stylist got me a grey jumpsuit with a black belt. I had my hair in one braid.
"Good luck, Violet." My stylist told me.
I forced a smile and went to the tube.

I smelled the lake water and that's where the Cornucopia was; in the middle of a lake. There were some rocks and wooden logs that could help us not drown but definitely I can't jump on them.
I can swim, I'm not a pro but I still can do something.
There weren't many weapons in the Cornucopia, almost none. The gamemakers sometimes use this tactic to make the tributes more creative.

The gong then sounded.

I jumped into the water and started swimming into the Cornucopia. Before I got there the careers already started killing tributes with every way that they could find.
There were exactly four small knives but the careers noticed only three. The fourth one was lying at the edge of the Cornucopia. I took it and hided before anyone saw me.
I decided to hide until the Bloodbath is over.

I watched as the careers and other tributes were killing others.

District four female drowned the boy from three, Cassidy slashed throat of the boy from twelve and two other canons sounded which death's I didn't see. What I saw next was the sick boy from five getting his neck broken by the boy from two.

A boy from nine appeared infront of me, he tried to drown me by putting my head underwater. Despite the panic I stabbed him in the stomach.
I then used his body to hide myself while I was taking a backpack from the Cornucopia.

It was time to go.

The lake with Cornucopia was surrounded by quite rocky island. But I could hear something, waterfalls.
That's when I saw them.

I heard someone behind me so I rushed into the cave behind one of the waterfalls.
To my suprise there was something lying in the cave.
Those were small packages in sliver paper that had a beautiful smell.
I unpacked one of these and couldn't believe me eyes.
It was bread.
I unpacked the other and saw different kinds of buns and bread.

This is why there was no food in the Cornucopia.

I opened my backpack which was empty except a small water bottle and put there as much bread and buns as I can.

I felt relieved to know that I have a lot of food. However staying in one place for too long risks that someone can find me. But I will stay for just the end of this day.

I didn't hear any canons and the day soon came to the end.

I was still thinking why is the bread here? What's behind other waterfalls?

In the middle of the night the fallen tributes were shown.

Both from 3, the boy from 5, both from 7, the girl from 8, the boy from 9, the girl from 10 and the boy from 12.

Nine tributes are dead, this leaves fifteen alive right now.

Micah is alive, this fact made me so happy. I wonder where he is and if he is okay.

This is just first day, anything can happen in next days. I feel nervous but I can't show it. If I want to get sponsored I have to be brave.

...

I wake up feeling extremely hot. I splash myself in the water to feel better.
"It's time to go."  I think.
As soon as I go out of the cave, I can see something written on a rock next to the waterfall.
"9" that's what it had written.

I was walking around while thinking about the number.

Nine. Why nine? What could it mean, maybe.... District nine?

District nine makes grain as far as I remember. Could this be why there was bread in the cave?

The day passed while I have seen no tributes or waterfalls.

I spotted something shimmering in the distance knowing that it's probably the force filed.
It was just near the edge of the island so there was no way to jump into the ocean.

The silence was a good sign. No canons means no deaths, no deaths means that Micah is alive.
I can't believe that just weeks ago I hated him. Micah isn't a bad person and I wish that I knew that earlier.

To my suprise the next waterfall had number six on it. The number of my District. But to my bigger suprise there was gasoline spilled all over the cave.
"District 6, Transport." I say to myself.
I don't find this an enjoyable place to stay for the night. So I decide to try something else.

I climb to the top of a small mountain that the waterfall is on. I hope no one finds me here.

No one died that day.
