Friend Like Me

"You an't never had a friend like me."

Andrew Richard sigh once more. He couldn't help but feel the pain that Robin was feeling, but he didn't understand why they picked on him. Why would someone pick on someone else just because they like Disney? Why?

He watched helpless as Robin picked up his belongs, alone, and quickly walked into a classroom. Everyone knows that Robin was a geek to Disney and it seems that only two like to pick on him and him alone. Why one must keep a secret of liking Disney? Why must it feel like a sin? Why must one feel alone in this time of need? What is wrong with this world? Can't they see-

RRRIIIIGGGGG

The last bell rang and Andrew hurried to his class.

"Andrew, must you watch that now? Survivor is on and I need to know who'll get kicked off!" Andrew's older sister, Abby, called from behind him.

"I need my daily dose of Disney, okay? Besides the movie is almost over, you'll have time to see the ending." He glanced back at the TV and continued to watch his movie. This is what he looked forward to all day. Watching a Disney movie keeps his cool down and makes him feel good inside. He needed to escape the world and into the world of Disney.

His sister will never understand his love of Disney. At twenty-two, Abby, had left the world of hope, magic, faith, trust and pixie dust behind her and into the real world. She and many others just don't understand what Disney does to one. They don't know what Disney is all about.

No one knew Andrew's secret. But you would never guess Andrew to be a Disney fan. Andrew was a straight A student and the caption of the school's football team. Despite all that, girls tried to hook up with him, just because he's popular and or do their homework. He didn't want to be used like that.

Once his movie was over, and satisfied, Andrew handed the remote to his sister and went to his room. He grabs his pajamas and headed to the restroom. Ten minutes later, after finishing his shower, he went straight to bed. Robin being bullied played though his mind as he slowly drifts to sleep.

The next day, at launch, Andrew walked into the cafeteria. He grabs a grilled cheese, water and an apple. After paying, he followed his friends to their table. As he ate he heard his friends talk about sports, like they do every day. Andrew looked around and saw a dark hair teen eating alone. He seemed to be done eating as his tray was empty and he was drawing on his sketch book. Robin always sat alone and sketch in his books.

"Hey, dude what you looking at?" Andrew turned around at the sound of his friend's voice.

"Oh nothing. Sorry just thinking about that math next week. I think I'm going to pass it. It's pretty easy." He replied.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I think I'm going to failed it big time." His friend replied back. "I still can't believe that you get straight A's and play football at the same time."

"Then you need to stop and look around. Just because I'm popular, doesn't mean I can't be smart." Soon the lunch hour was over and everyone return to class. Andrew caught a glimpse of Robin in the corner of his eye, was he crying?

Gah! Why is history extra boring today? Andrew looked at the clock. It's only been ten minutes and school will end at three thirty. He needed to stay up and continued on until the day ends.

He got up, grab the laundered and headed to the restroom. He headed to the restroom and splash water on his face. "I'm awake now."

As he walked out, he heard thud, followed by laughter. He knew it was Robin, and headed where the sound was coming from. He found them: in the hallway was Robin and two bullies. He hid behind a wall and overheard their conversation.

"No one's like Disney that much unless you're a kid." The taller bullied mocked.

"Yeah, a little or a girl." The other exclaimed. "Only little kids and girls, like Disney. Get a life." The picked up Robin and threw him at a wall and cornered him. All Robin could do was weep and hold his ground.

Andrew, who couldn't stand it anymore, revealed himself. The taller bully smiled when he saw him and told Robin, "Oh, yeah, the football player is here. He'll teach you a lesson like no other." But, Andrew stood in front of Robin and faced the two bullies.

"When has it been a crime to like or even love Disney? What do you see in Disney that make you hurt," he turned to Robin, "him? Andrew asked the two.

The taller one answered first. "It's Disney. Everyone knows Disney is for little kids. The only real movies are horror and rated R." His friend high fived him.

Andrew glared at them. "If you think that those are the only good things out there than you are both idiots. Disney is amazing! Yes, I admit it. I'm a Disney fan, but are you going to bully me?" When the shook their heads, he continued. "That's what I thought. When one is alone in their world, there is only one thing that can cheer one up. It's Disney. When one is feeling down, only Disney can bring them love, joy and hope. Disney movies are feel good movies. Disney parks, make you feel like a kid again. What's wrong with being a kid? Some adults wish to be kids again. You know that thing after high school is called? Yeah, it's called life. No one will remember you. All that glory you had, will be striped and sucked out of you once when you leave high school."

All the bullies could do was stare. Andrew wasn't finished yet. "Also, Disney isn't just for girls, Disney is for everyone. Now, if you have a problem or if I see you bully anyone else again, I'll let you have a word with my mother, who happen to be the principal. Any problems?" He glared at them again, staring deep into their souls.

"N-no. No problem. Uh, we'll see you both tomorrow." The scampered off. Andrew turned around and faced Robin.

Robin's voice was shaky and unsettled. "W-why did you help me?"

Andrew gave him a hand and when Robin took it, he answered, "Because you never had a friend like me." Soon after, Andrew, Robin and the two bullies, Jack and Tim, came to reason and all became friends. They also became the biggest nerds for Disney, anyone had ever seen.
