Chapter Two

"Echo. Echo. Dude are you fucking dead or something? Get up." I woke up to a pillow getting thrown at me, smacking my head with a soft thwip!
"Ow! What the hell dude?" I groaned, shoving the pillow away and sitting up. Josh was standing in the doorway, his eyes tired with sleep. "Your friend is here. She said she has something for you. Next time tell her to not come at three in the fucking morning." "Julie? What is she doing here?" He shrugged, obviously oblivious to anything that was going on. I sighed and slid out of bed, muttering about how late it was as I padded down the stairs.
There, in the living room, was Julie, clad in her signature beanie and holding something behind her back. "Hey Echo. What's up? How's hotel Josh?" She asked casually, like it was some five star hotel I was staying at, and NOT on the run from my parents. "Hi Julie. Can I help you?" I asked warily. "I just wanted to let you know that your parents are still asking where you are and stuff. Also, I managed to sneak into your room, and grabbed something you might appreciate." She said, reveling what was behind her back.
I gasped as she held the item out in her hand, squealing like an idiot and snatching it up. I threw my arms around my friend in a crushing hug. "Oh my god I'm like in love with you right now. You did not just steal my necklace for me. I was so upset when I couldn't grab it before I left."
The necklace in question was a normal looking one. It was a red gem with a gold outlining, and it was old, but the story behind it is what made it special.  It was from my grandmother, a gift before she died. It was the only thing I had left from her. She's the only one in my family who believed in me, who saw me for me, not just my sister.
"Well I just assumed you would want it. I'm surprised you weren't wearing it when you took off, you're like attached to the thing." "For good reason." I said, putting it on. I traced the stone with my finger, looking back up at my friend. "Seriously though. Thank you so much. I was devastated when I realized I forgot it."
Julie smiled at me. "I assumed. Call me if you need anything, okay? Go back to sleep." She chuckled, patting my head. We exchanged goodbyes and I walked back up the stairs after she left, going into my room. "What did she want?" A voice asked from behind me.
"She just brought me something from my house, don't worry about it. You can go back to sleep, sorry for waling you up." I said, turning to face him. "I've got a better idea." He said, smirking. It was then I realized he had his jacket on, and his shoes.  "Lets go on an adventure." "At three in the morning?" I asked, raising my brow in question. "Why not? We're already up, and I know you. It's gonna take you forever to fall back asleep."
I opened my mouth to protest, but Josh just gave me a knowing look. "Come on. It'll be fun! I'll buy us some slushies." Josh pleaded, making me laugh lightly. "Alright alright, fine." I said.  "We'll go on an adventure. Just let me get my shoes on first."  Josh pumped his fist in the air. "Trust me, this is going to be the best night of your life"

I hoped he was right.  But, as it turns out, he was very wrong.

This chapter is shitty and I'm so going back to edit it later but oh well. Also I told you updates were going to be inconsistent, but I honestly just haven't had time and shit oops
