Flashback start...

Maddie was eight years old and her dad have locked her in the soundproof cage in the basement again.

"Please Reginald, let me out" she said "You can let yourself out Number Eight, all you have to do is opened that door" he said "I can't" she said "Three more hours and then I will let you out, unless you do it yourself" Reginald said before he turned around and walked away.

Maddie sat down and hugged her knees but then she heard the sound of a familiar whoosh and she turned around to see her best friend had blink into the room where she was.

"Hey Maddie" he said and she smiled "Hey Jumpy Guy" she said and Five looked around before he sat down next to her.

"Well, at least you have a bed and painting" he said "Yeah, but the bed is as hard as stone and the painting is not nice either" she said and Five looked at the painting, it showed a Nuclear bomb.

"He is a heartless and a cruel man" he said and she nodded before she hugged her knees tighter.

"Don't worry Maddie. You gotta be strong. I know you're strong. That is the only way to overcome your fear. That's the only way to get out of here. To fight" he said "I'm weak Five, we all know that. I'm not like you. You have no weakness and you are brave all the time" she said "That's where you are wrong" he said and she looked at him "I'm only brave when I have to be, I'm actually glad that I wear the mask on mission, even people wouldn't see when I'm scared" he said "So even someone like you, who have no weakness, can be scared" she said.

"I actually have weakness" he said "What?" she asked "Our siblings. But do you know what my biggest weakness is?" he asked and she shook her head "It's you" he said and her eyes widened.

"Why and how I'm I your weakness?" she asked "'Cause I care about you more than anything. I can't handle see you hurt or in pain. I can't think when I'm not around you, I think about you everyday, all the time. Whenever you leave, I feel a part of me leaving too. Whenever you get yourself in danger, you worry me, all the time. If something happen to you or if I lose you, I don't know what to do with myself" he said and she tilted her head "If you die, I will lose my mind" he said "You're not gonna lose me and I'm not gonna die. Beside I feel the same about you. If I lost you, I don't know want I will do. I will lose my mind" she said and he smiled.

"You are also my strength, you give me a reason to fight and to be kind" he said and she smiled.

"You are still gonna stay with me for a while right?" she asked "Of course, always and forever" he said before he looked around "I get it why you don't like this place" he said "Why?" she asked "It's dark and empty and is soundproof" he said before he looked at her.

He then wrapped his arm around her before he pulled her closer to him "I know you're scared of being alone Maddie. But you're not. You never will be. I'll be here whenever dad puts you in here and whenever you need me. I will be here for you. You will always and forever have me" he said "And you will always and forever have me too, 'cause I'm not going to leave you. You will probably get sick of me way before I get sick of you" she said "I doubt that. I will never get sick of you" he said and she smiled.

"Thank you. For being you" she said as she rested her head on his shoulder "Anything for you" he said before he rested his head on top of hers.

After a few minutes, Maddie leaned back so she was laying on the floor and Five also leaned back so he was also laying on the floor.

The two then turned their heads to look at each other "What would I do without you?" she asked "You will always have me" he said before he wrapped one of his fingers around hers and the two just stared into each other's eyes.

Maddie was 12 years and her and Diego was in his room.

They were both laying upside down with their legs up against the wall and their heads hanging from the bed.

"I don't get Luther. Why is he such a daddy's boy?" Diego asked as he was playing with his knife with his left hand "You're a mommy's boy" Maddie said and Diego sent her a glare "It's not the same" he said and she chuckled.

"I just don't get why he always wanted to do anything father say" he said "Cause he is number One" she said "Yeah, but why him, I'm just as a great leader as he is, even better actually" he said "It's that why you are such a showoff everytime we train?" she asked and he nodded "I just want to proof myself to dad that I can do more than he think" he said "You don't have to proof yourself to anyone. Dad don't show us any respect and he never will" she said.

"As soon as I'm old enough, I'm moving out of here, becoming my own person. And one day, I'm gonna show that old man what I can do" he said "Diego, you don't need to. Just because dad don't see it, then it doesn't mean that others doesn't. I mean I see you" she said and he let out a chuckled.

"Promise us that you will never forget about us" he said and she looked at him "Diego. I love you like a brother, we are a family, and a family is always and forever, so of course I will never forget about us guys" she said "I'm glad I have sister like you" he said and she smiled.

"MADDIE, WHERE ARE YOU?" Maddie and Diego suddenly heard Five calling out from downstairs.

"You better go to your Five. You can't let your Romeo wait, Juliet. The head need its heart" Diego said and they both chuckled as Maddie got up.

"Thanks for the talk and hanging out with me" he said "Of course, see you later" she said "See you later, sis" he said and she smiled as she walked out of Diego's room.

Maddie and Five was in courtyard at the Academy by a large oak tree.

Five grabbed onto the branches, hoisting himself up and sitting on a stable one "No fair, I can't climb up" Maddie whined "It's not that high up. Just a couple steps, you can do it or use your powers" he encouraged.

"You know that I don't like using my powers" she said "Then just do it as an ordinary person" he said.

Maddie grabbed onto a branch, attempting to pull herself up, but Five could see she was struggling.

"I--I can't" you sighed "Here, give me your hand, I'll pull you up" he reached out his hand, wrapping the other one around the branch.

Maddie stared at him unease but grabbed his hand and he pulled her up with all the strength he had.

"There you go. You just climbed a tree" he smiled "You know what would be nice to have one day?" she asked "What?" he asked "A treehouse. Somewhere we could get away from all the chaos. It'd be our little sanctuary" their fingers interlocked with his and the two look at each other "I'd love to share a treehouse with you" he said before they both smiled.

Maddie was sitting over in a corner in her bedroom, hugging her knees while crying.

It have being a month since Five let and he haven't came back. 

She had her eyes closed and she kept wishing that Five was here while she kept crying.

Freddy, Vanya, Ben, Klaus and Diego have tried to talk to Maddie or comfort her, but she refuse and kept telling them to leave her alone, which they did after trying to get her to open the door or get her to look at them.    

Memories of her and Five together play over and over again. The lost feeling she had was leaving her heart and mind as she listened to his long explanations and his frustrations as she shot him a confuse look every time he tried to explain something she didn't really understand to her. 

As she kept crying, two red mist-like shapes appeared on her hands and red energy came out of her and it covered her whole room before the red energy formed something in the middle of her room.

A figure began to take shape from her powers.

Her wishing that Five was here which make the figure to begin to take the shape of a human body.

"Maddie" a voice said which 'cause Maddie to look up and her eyes widened when she saw that the red energy had formed Five.

"Five" she said as she got up before she ran over to him, wrapping her arms around him.

But then he started turning into red energy whisps again causing her to pull away "No" she said with tears in her eyes and Five looked at his hands to see them slowly turning into red energy whisps before fading away.

He then looked at her and she lifted her hands before putting them on his cheek as he did the same.

"I'm lost without you"

Her and Five just stood there looking into each other's eyes as Five turned into red energy whisps before fading away.

When he disappeared, Maddie felled down on her knees eyes before she started sobbing.
