Flashback start...

While the kids were preparing for another mission, Reginald kept glancing on Maddie as she ran back and forth, getting ready.

For some reason, Freddy was not allow on this mission, so he was in the library, reading. 

"You are planning something right?" Pogo asked and Reginald raised a brow "This mission is something in your plan" Pogo said and Reginald nodded "This mission is gonna kill them all, especially Maddie" Pogo said "It wouldn't kill them, if Maddie is the one I think she is, if she is as powerful as I believe she is, if she really is The Red Dragon then nothing will happen to the kids" Reginald said "But something will happen to her" Pogo said "Only something powerful" Reginald said.

"You will use Number Five, I'm I right?" Pogo asked "Love is weakness and Number Eight is too close to him. Therefore she is letting her emotions control her, this mission will show that is wrong" Reginald said before walking away.

Maddie was 12 years and on a mission with the others, that was about a robbery in a mall.

While Maddie was busy with handling some robber with her powers. One of the men charged towards her but then Five blinked over to him before he knock the man to the floor.

"Thanks Five" Maddie said "Anytime" Five said.

When Maddie said Five's name the man that had being knock to the floor by Five looked up at him and smiled.

'You know our deal. Go after Number Five'

"My target" the man said "What?" Five asked confused and the man pulled something up from his pocket before he press the button on a remote.

"FIVE, WATCH OUT" Maddie shouted as the bomb vest the man was wearing exploded.

But because of her fast reflex, you reach to hold the explosion back with her powers.

She gritted her teeth in pain as her hands was glowing red while she was holding the explosion back.

But then a group of armed men came running from around a corner before they lifted their guns and started shooting at Maddie and the other kids.

The whole situation happen to fast that Five and the others didn't had the time to react but Maddie did.

So with her powers and while holding the explosion back with one hand, she moved the other, pushing Five and the siblings backwards and closer together until she created a red energy force shield around them to protect them.

"No" Five said and tried to blink out but he couldn't.

Maddie then moved her other hands towards the man, stopping the bullets in mid-aid while holding the men with her mind so they couldn't move.

She could feel how her body started hurting causing her to grits her teeth more in pain.

"MADDIE, let us out, we can help" Five said as he was banging his fists on the force shield "Come on Maddie, let us out!" Diego shouted.

Then another group of men came from another side, but with her powers, Maddie threw their guns out of their hands.

Her body started hurting more and more and she could feel that she was about to lose control in how much she was using her powers.

She started crying out in pain as she was holding the explosion back while holding 12 other men still.

Five could see that Maddie were in pain, so he kept banging on the force shield more while crying out her name.

Maddie knew that if she let go the whole area will explode.

She looked around trying to find any place where the explosion will not case so much damage.

But suddenly one of the men who Maddie had throw the guns away, pulled up a small pistol before he lifted it and pointed it at her.

"MADDIE, WATCH OUT!" Five cried out but it was too late and Maddie was hit in the shoulder causing her to grunt in pain.

As she was hit, she lost control and she cried out as she let go causing a huge wave of red energy force to be shout out of her.

The sibling's eyes widened as they witness the wave hitting the men, sending them all flying backwards, many of them was implead, some broke all the bones in body and some of them broke their necks.

The whole area around you was destroyed but since the red force shield was around Five and the siblings, nothing happen to them. It was like the wave moved over and around the shield, not hitting them. But destroyed everything else.

Maddie's powers then went down making her let go of the man with the suicide west causing the explosion to went off, sending her flying backwards.

"NOOOOOOO" Five cried out as his eyes followed her body being throw backwards before hitting a wall, falling down on the floor.

The small area around the man got destroyed but because Maddie was still slightly conscious. The shield around Five and the rest of the siblings were still there so they were not hit by the explosion.

Maddie got up and as the wave from the explosion came towards her. She put her arms on cross in front of her face using her powers so the wave didn't hit her.

When it was over, Maddie removed her arms from her face and she looked around at all the body, tears falling down from her face.

"Oh no, what have I done. I'm a monster" she cried before she looked at Five who had tears in his eyes as him and the siblings were in shock.

"I'm sorry" she said before she fell to the floor "No" Five said as he bang his fist on the shield.

Maddie looked at him "Five, I killed them" she said quietly "It's okay, Maddie, you were protecting us, so don't feel guilty. If it wasn't for you, we all would have being dead" he said.

Maddie then closed her eyes, losing consciousness and as she closed her eyes, the shield disappeared and Five immediately rushed over to her.

"No, no. Maddie" he said as he crouched down next to her before he shook her "Maddie! Wake up. Please. You're my Maddie. Don't you dare die on me now" he cried.

"NOOO"

Five was holding Maddie's hand as she was unconscious while she was being wheeled into the medical room in the Academy.

"Give me some space kids" Reginald said as all the kids were in the room.

"I'm not leaving her" Five said "Number Five, leave, I can't work with so many people around, I need space so leave or she will die" Reginald said and Klaus grabbed Five "Come on" he said "NO" Five said as he stared evil at their dad, with a feeling that it was his fault that Maddie got hurt 'cause he should have told them more about the mission and he should have allow Freddy to come with them, and he was scared that their dad would do something to Maddie.

"Get out of here, and let me work" Reginald said and Diego then also grabbed Five but he kept resisting "Come on Five" Klaus said "No, I'm not leaving her" Five said as he hold Maddie's hand tight "I'm here Maddie. I'm right here" he said as tears were in his eyes.

"Number One, get him out" Reginald and Luther grabbed Five and with his super strength, he was able to lift him up and carry him out "No" Five said as he was waving with his arms and legs, he tried to blink but he was too exhausted.

"Let me go" Five said as he was carried out of the room while the others follow.

When the kids left, Reginald closed and lock the door before he walked back to Maddie.

"Her heart is slowing down. If we don't do something she will die" Grace said.

Reginald then opened a small draw before he pulled up a needle that was filled with some red serum.

"You can't put more of those powers in her, it's too dangerous" Pogo said "Do you think I care, she is too valuable to lose" Reginald said before turned around to face Maddie.

"Don't do it Master Hargreeves, you don't know the affect it will have on her body. It will made her powers more dangerous" Pogo said "More powerful. It will give The Red Dragon more power" Reginald said "It's too dangerous, her body is too young, we don't know how it will affect her. Beside we haven't even tested it yet" Pogo said as Reginald lifted up the needle "It's the only way to save her" he said "She will die" Pogo said "If she really is the Red Dragon, she will survive this. Any person born with those kind of powers would have being dead, but not her. Which make her not like the other kids, just like Custos, her blood is different, so she will handle this" Reginald said before he stuck the needle in Maddie's neck and poured the serum into her body.

As soon as the serum enter her body, it started shaking and the whole room started shaking too.

Maddie's eyes opened and they were glowing red.

The whole room started shaking more and glass started breaking while her whole body was shaking violently as all the objects in the room started floating in the air.

Her whole body got covered in red mist-like shapes whisps energy and it was like they formed into small dragon wings which cause Reginald to smile.

"Her body is going into shock" Grace said "It's too much for her" Pogo said as he saw how Maddie's body was reacting to the serum.

"Give her some sedation" Reginald said and Grace nodded nodded before she pulled up a needle and stuck Maddie in the arm with it.

Maddie's body started calming down and her eyes closed while the red mist-like shapes whisps energy that had appeared around her body and the red dragon wings faded away before disappearing causing the room to stop shaking.

Grace then looked at the monitor "Her heart beat and pulse is back to normal" she said and Reginald looked back at Pogo "And you doubted that she couldn't handle the serum" he said "I didn't. I said that it was too dangerous. It will have consequences later" Pogo said "Only if she is not near someone who she share a strong connection and bond with" Reginald said.

Five, Freddy and the other siblings were all sitting outside the medical room, waiting.

"Please let her be okay" Diego said "I swear if she dies, I will summer her" Klaus said "I really hope she will be okay" Ben said "What even happen?" Freddy asked "We will tell you later" Klaus said.

"I should have protected her" Diego said before he looked at Luther "It's your fault" he said "How is it my fault?" Luther asked "You are Number One. You are the one in charged. You should have being leading" Diego said "How did I know that---" "Guys stop fighting, it gets us nowhere. Beside this is not what Maddie would have wanted" Allison said.

Tears ran down Five's eyes as his whole body was shaking.

He looked down at his hands to see them shaking but then someone grabbed his hand and he looked to the left to see Vanya sitting next to him.

"It's okay. She is gonna be okay" she said "What if she's not. I can't live without her....I can't.....I" he said, trying to hold back his tears "It's my fault, and if she dies I will never be able to forgive myself and not live with myself. She is my center point and I can't lose her" he quietly as he was sobbing a bit.

Then a hand was put on Five's right shoulder and he turned his head to see Freddy sitting next to him.

"Maddie is strong. Stronger than she knows, she will be okay and live" Freddy said "And if she don't. I will never find anyone like Maddie. I don't want to live in a world without her" Five said "Don't say that, if something did happen to her, she wanted you to live your life for the both of you" Vanya said before she wrapped her arms around Five, comforting him "I just don't think I can live in a world that doesn't have her in it. I don't think I can be in a world if I'm not wishing for a future with her" he sob quietly.

Then Reginald opened the door to the medical room to see all the kids waiting.

They all looked up and Five rushed over to his dad "How is she? Is she alright? Is she dead?" he asked said, trying to hold back his tears, he didn't know what he would do if he lost Maddie. She was his world, his future, his light, his happiness, his reason to live and to fight, she was his everything.

"Kids...." Reginald started and it was like all the kids held their breaths, scared of what he would say.

"Number Eight is gonna be fine. She will live" he said and the the kids breathe out in relief as they all smiled, happy over that Maddie was gonna be okay.

"Can I see her?" Five asked his dad "Not now. She is resting. But in a few hours" Reginald said as he looked at his children "Now, get changed and do your chores. Number Eight need rest and a lot of it" Reginald said and the kids nodded before leaving but Five stayed.

"Number Five. Do as you're told. Number Eight is okay. But she need rest, you can't see her now" Reginald said and Five sent his dad an angry glare before walking away.

"Number Three" Reginald said as he went into Allison's room "Yeah" she said "I need you do something" he said "What is it dad?" she asked "I need you to rumor all of your siblings except Number Seven and Custos in that Number Eight killed someone at the mission, also rumor Natalie" he said "Why?" Allison asked "Cause I tell you to" he said "But---" "No but, you need to do it now. Cause when Number Eight wake up, she will freak out over killing those people and she will lose control and then bad things will happen. So do it now. Start with the others" Reginald said and Allison took a deep breath before she nodded.

After Allison had rumored the siblings into forgotten that you killed someone at the mall, making them believe that Maddie just got injured cause something went wrong.

Her and Reginald then went into the medical room where Maddie was laying.

And just as they opened the door, Maddie woke up.

"Number Eight" Reginald said and Maddie looked at Reginald "Now Number Three" he said and Maddie looked to the left to see Allison.

"I heard a rumor....that you forgot you killed those people" Allison said, her voice echoing as an energy wave travled out of her mouth and into Maddie's ears, causing her eyes to turn white for a few seconds before they changed to her normal color.

"Allison" she said "Hey Maddie, I'm so glad you're okay" Allison said "What happen?" Maddie asked as she looked around "You were hurt doing the mission" Reginald said and Maddie nodded "Did I do something wrong?" Maddie asked "No, you did alright" he said.

Reginald and Allison then turned around before leaving.

Maddie looked down before letting out a sigh.

But then the door opened and Maddie looked up to see Five.

He rushed over to her before wrapping his arms around her tight "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" he cried.

It was the first time, Maddie have seen and heard him cry and break down like that.

"It's okay" Maddie said as he pulled away and she could see the tears in his eyes.

"It's my fault, if I have just being more awake, more focus, I should have protected you" he said, sobbing "No" Maddie said as she put his face in her hands "You have to remember that you can't protect everyone everyday. No one can" she said.

"I really thought....I thought I lose you" he sob "I don't know what I would do without you" she smiled "You would never lose me. I'm never going to leave you" she said "You promise" he said and she nodded "I promise" she said as she wipe his tear away with her thumb.

"I heard you. You called me your Maddie" she said.

'Maddie! Wake up. Please. You're my Maddie. Don't you dare die on me now'

Five slightly blushed and was about to deny it but then she hugged him and he smiled before he hugged her back, leaning his cheek on her side of her head.

"I promise you I will not let this happen again. I won't let anyone hurt you" he said and she let out a small laugh "Who are you and what have you done with my Five Hargreeves. Has my Jumpy Guy, Coffee Boy, Pretty Boy and Short Pants, suddenly going soft on me now?" she asked and he pulled away before he tucked a stray of her hair behind her ear while he smiled "What do you mean? You know that I'm always soft when I'm around you" he said and she smiled before she hugged him again.

"Don't worry Five, I will never leave you" she said "And I would never leave you either, it's you and me, always and forever" he said "Always and forever" she said before they hugged each other tighter.
