Chapter 65

I know I've deprived you all of Remdy content, so here's some for you. Enjoy x

User 1: I'm kinda new to this band. Just found out they cancelled a whole tour??

User 2: @user 1 yeah. No one knows why. I was meant to be seeing them tomorrow.

User 3: @user 1 @user 2 I saw them before they cancelled on the second show of the tour. It didn't feel the same as a Palaye show. Remington wasn't there meeting fans after either.

User 1: @user 3 is that unusual?

User 3: @user 1 very unusual. I've been to 4 shows and he's never not been there to meet fans after. He seemed different while he was performing as well. Not as engaged.

User 4: I hugged him on the first night. I could swear he was shaking.

User 3: @user 4 really? That's not good.

User 5: @user 4 same here. He went into the bus after hugging me. Whispered something to Sebastian and didn't come out again.

User 4: @user 5 that is odd. I hope he's alright.

Remington sits on Andy's couch, determined to rebuild his relationship with the man. Just because one person hurt him doesn't mean he should be scared of everyone else.

Except it isn't that simple. He is scared of everyone else.

"I'm sorry to had to cancel tour," Andy says, handing the boy a drink.

Remington sighs. "Yeah, well, it had to be done." He takes the drink and sips it. "I don't want to talk about it. Can we do something instead?"

The older of the two nods. "Sure. I've got some games on the play station," he suggests.

"I didn't know you had a play station," Remington says, cheered up at the change in topic. "Are you a seventeen year old boy?"

Andy chuckles and finds the controllers from under the television. "I've had it for ages," he says, handing Remington a controller. "What should I put in? Mario kart?"

The younger practically screams in excitement. "Is that even a fucking question?" He watches as the man puts the disc in and the game comes on.

The two play for a good two hours, laughing and joking and not once mentioning anything about the disastrous tour or the disastrous relationship or the disastrous nights that are Remingtpn's life, and the boy is happy.

This is how it should be. This is where he should be.

"Holy fuck! I won!" He exclaims, throwing his arms around.

Andy laughs. "You're cute," he states, starting a new round.

Remington whines, eyes glued to the screen. "Not me," he protests, and gasps as his character flies off the course and into oblivion. "I hate this game."

"Really? You loved it a moment ago."

The singer huffs, waiting to be put back on the road. "But I was winning then. This isn't fair."

Andy smiles, slowing down so that Remington can catch him up. "You're just not cut out for the Mario Kart life," he jokes.

"Yes I am," the boy whines, "I just don't like this course."

With a hum, Andy puts his controller down. "Sure you don't," he says quietly, and smiles as Remington looks at him with a confused expression. "I'm letting you win," he explains, "you're doing it all wrong."

Remington flies off the track again. "No I'm not!" The younger protests.

"You are. Here, let me show you." Andy takes the remote from his hands. "You've gotta use this button or you'll lose control," he explains, handing it back to the boy.

With a shy smile, Remington does as he's shown, and manages to get to the end without falling off again. "You're a genius."

They turn it off eventually, and put on a television show instead.

Remington takes Andy's hand and moves closer to the man, feeling more comfortable with him than he has recently. Andy notices but doesn't make it a big deal. He doesn't want to scare the boy away.

He let's Remington put his head on his shoulder and resists the urge to wrap an arm around his waist. The younger has to be in control or he'll never gain Remington's trust again.

Remington is calm. He doesn't know where this has come from. Why is he so calm?

He is moving slowly, cautiously, until he's sitting in Andy's lap with his head against his chest. He feels so calm. "Don't let me go to sleep," the boy says, knowing what will happen if he does. "I'm not scared. I'm not even shaking."

Andy has his arms loose around the boy, in case Remington needs to suddenly get up. "I'm glad," he responds.

A while goes by, and then an advert comes on the television about animal abuse, and Remington is unsettled by the subject that hits so close to him. He abruptly gets up and disappears out of the room, grabbing his phone from his pocket.

The boy texts Sebastian.
Come and pick me up?

Of course. Everything okay?

No. There was an advert about abuse. Really fucking with me.

Alright. Remember, you're safe. I'm on my way.

Thank you.

He waits in the porch, praying that Andy doesn't turn up. He's suddenly terrified again.

A car is soon pulling up and he slips out of the house quietly. "I'm sor-"

"No. Don't say it."

Remington sighs. He gets in the car and closes his eyes. "I hugged him," he says, proud but still upset.

Sebastian drives them home. "I'm so proud of you. Are you okay now?"

"I don't know. Probably. Stupid fucking advert."
