Lost and Found

"That's enough, Loki!" Balder shouts. "Why do you keep getting in my way?" Balder glares at Loki, his eyes darkening.

"Please stop this, Balder. . ." Loki pleads.

"Just leave me alone-"

"Stop making me suffer!" Loki clenches his jaw. "Go." He instructs. Violet blinks at him. "I said to go!" Violet takes a small step back, then runs away from the two.

"Hey. Why are you spacing out?" Takeru asks, pointing his spatula at Violet.

"Pardon?" She tilts her head.

"Your gloomy expression will drive away our customers. Give them your smile, everyone loves that." Takeru sighs. He looks away to see Lewis glaring holes into him, and Takeru blushes once he realises what he said. "I mean it attracts people. People love your smile because it's happy!" Takeru continues to turn red. "I didn't say anything, you got that?!" He shouts, pointing his spatula at her, then Lewis.

"Brother, you're scaring away the customers." Tsukito informs him. Takeru grumbles to himself before shouting to gain customers.

"Come on. . . You, too." Takeru points at you.

"Totsuka Takeru, you have a customer." Tsukito points.

"Huh?" Thoth walks to the table and dumps a bag of coins on the table.

"Hey, you. . . I'll take all the soup you have." He said.

"Why do you have so many coins?" Violet asks.

"'Why' you ask?" Thoth furrows his brow. He stands up straight and stares down at Violet. "I earned these coins by sweating away at my own booth. You have no right to complain."

"Yes." Violet nods quickly.

"I must return to my booth. Hurry up with the soup!" Thoth orders.

"O-okay." Takeru stutters. Thoth soon leaves with two big trays of soup.

"I'll be back. Ready the next batch." Thoth orders. Lewis smirks.

"Is it wrong if I put spicy sauce in them?" He grins.

"W-what? He's gonna kill us!" Takeru shouts. "Tsukito, keep him occupied whilst I make some more." Takeru orders.

"Calm your waters, God. I'm just having some fun. Let loose some time." Lewis rolls his eyes. The Balder runs over.

"This is the Japanese booth, right?"balder asks.

"It is." Tsukito answers.

"Where's Violet?" Balder questions.

"She should be over there. . . But she isn't."

"What?! Where'd she run off to? There's no time to slack off." Takeru shouts.

"She ran off when she saw Balder coming. Guess you scared her away. What'd you do?" Lewis asks, quirking a judging brow at him.

Violet walks down the paths by herself, a sad look on her face. She lets out a bitter sigh and her eyes gaze up. Then she sees beautiful flowers wing watered by Hades.

"How beautiful! You're selling flowers?" Violet asks as she walks up to him. "Whose idea was it?"

"D-Dionysus grew these in gardening club." Hades explained.

"Huh? You're the one who said you wanted to do it." Dionysus points out, a smile on his face.

"This is amazing. The flowers are so colourful." Then Violet touches one of the petals. "And smell lovely."

"Y-yes." Hades scratches his cheeks, blushing.

"I wanted to sell wine made from grapes I raised. . ." Dionysus said.

"And Thoth didn't allow it? There's no surprise there." Violet giggles into her fist.

"Hey, hey." Apollo runs over. "Check out my goods, too. It's amazing. . . It's really amazing!"

"I'll come." Violet smiles. Then she looks back at Hades and Dionysus. "Can you reserve a flower for me? I'll pay you for it later, 'Kay." She waves as Apollo pulls her off to the booth next door.

"They're my greatest work." Apollo points to his life sized Santa's. "Santa Clauses, made to scale!"

"What an idiot. . . " Dionysus sweat drops. "There's no way these will sell."

"They're quiet creepy. . ." Violet mutters.

"They seem like they would ward off evil spirits." Hades comments.

"They're not just excellent works of art. They're also candles, so they're very practical!" Apollo points out.

"Candles?!" Violet gapes.

"When you light the wicks on their heads, they're really bright! See?" Apollo sets one alight. Violet stares at in bewilderment. "I have a reindeer too."

"They- they. . . Look. . . . . Imaginative." Violet said horsely. "I'm gonna . . . Go look at some other booths. Bye!" Violet shouts quickly as runs away.

"Come one, come all. It's cheap. . . Cheap!" Violet hears shouts from another booth. She turns a corner to see Loki. She then hides behind another booth as she peers around a corner. "It's cheap. Stop by." Violet watches them as they chat to each other about so,etching. She then freezes when Thor waves his hand at her, encouraging her over with his tongue clicking. She rubs her arm as she walks over shyly, avoiding eye contact with both of them.

"What are you doing here?" Loki asks.

"You. . . Called me over. . ." Violet whispers.

"Why did you call her here?" Loki asks Thor.

"You told me to call a customer over." Thor replies. Violet chuckles quietly, trying to keep her smile down.

"Yeah, but. . . That's not even how you call to customers!" Loki places his hand on his head.

"This really isn't my thing." Thor shakes his head. "Violet." He pushes the present into her hands. "Switch with me."

"What?" Violet inquires.

"I'm leaving the rest to you." He places his hand on her head and ruffles her black hair and walks past her, letting his hand drop as he walks away. Violet watches his retreating figure until he disappears.

"This is your fault." Loki tells her. Violet looks down sadly, clutching the present in her hands.

". . . I know." She whispers. Loki walks into the booth and. Islet follows after him awkwardly. The air was tense as they both stood inside in silence.

"Why are you here?" Loki asks.

"Thor asked me." Violet answers, shuffling.

"You don't have to listen to him." Loki replies.

"I should at least do my best to keep my remaining friends happy." Violet answers, looking sadly down at the ground.

"What are you on about?" Loki questions.

"I can't keep you or Balder happy. I don't deserve to be your friend. You were better off without me." Violet answers him honestly.

"You have lots of friends." Loki grumbles. "You don't need-"

"But I want to have you both!" Violet cuts him off. "E-eh, I'm. . . Sorry." Violet clears her throat. "I've just never lost a friend before. I didn't have many before this so I didn't realise that I could loose them. . . I just didn't want to be alone anymore, but I guess that was selfish off me." Loki stares at her. 'I was going to say me.' Violet looks down at her hands. "Thor told me about you guys."

"What are you on about now?" Loki scowls.

"How you're all childhood friends. I don't know what to do. . . And you said we'd make memories together, too." Violet sighs.

"No, I didn't." Loki replies.

"Yes you did. Earlier." Violet tilts her head at him.

"No, I didn't."

"Yes you did."

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did."

"Whatever, I don't care. And stay away from Balder."

"Pardon?" Violet stares at Loki who didn't reply to her. "Loki, why did you say Balder was yours?

"No, I didn't."

"I heard you say it." Violet purses her lips.

"You just don't give up." Loki sighs.

"What do you mean?" Violet tilts her head.

"It had nothing to do with you."

"It does." Violet grumbles. "Even if I'm not your friend, I'm your classmate. I'm meant to help you all return home!" Loki stares at her in bewilderment.

"You. . . In any case, stay away from Balder!" Loki scowls. "That's all I can say. Otherwise, there will be trouble."

"Trouble?"

"Listen. . . Balder is important to me!" Loki grabs Violets shoulders and pulls her forward. "That's why I can't let you stay at Balder's side. If you keep it up, you'll both get hurt."

"But I said I'd leave you two alone."

"You're lying, and I'll say it again. Stay away from Balder. For your own sake, please believe me. . ."

"Unforgivable." Violet jumps back at the voice. "Loki. . . You love Violet, don't you?" Violet stares at him wide eyed.

"No, I don't." Loki tells him.

"You love Violet. . . "

"I'm telling you, I don't!" Loki protests.

"I see." Balder said. "I see how it is."

"Balder, listen to me!" Loki yells.

"But I won't let you have her." Balder continues. He throws the supplies from the booth in the floor and grabs Violet.

"Stop, Blader!" Loki shouts. "Let her go!"

"No! I'll never let her go!" Balder throws one of his products on the floor.

"Oh, crap! That's. . ." It explodes suddenly and engulfs the area surrounding the booth in pink smoke. "Damn. . . The prank I set up in our goods. . ." Balder then pulls Violet away. Balder drags Violet away and behind one of the near by buildings.

"Balder, wait! Why are you doing this?" Violet asks.

"Why?" Balder repeats. "What about you? You said you didn't like me, then wanted to be friends, then I heard you say to Loki you didn't want either of us! Why don't you understand how I feel?!" Balder shouts, his face darkening as he looks over his shoulder at Violet. She takes a hesitantly step back, clutching her chest.

"B-balder, you're scaring me. . ." Violet hiccups.

"I'm sorry for shouting." Balder apologises, his face returning to normal. He lets go of her hand, and she steps back slightly, rubbing her saw wrist. "But I want you to understand. You're special to me."

"Me?" Violet inquires.

"I'm grateful for the miracle of our having met. As the God of light, my inborn power draws people and animals to me. Everything fears darkness and seeks light. That's why they approach and glorify me, the God of light. But you were different."

"You mean because your power doesn't work on me?" Violet asks.

"You speak truthfully to me. You
Raise me when I am good, scold me when I am bad, support me when you agree, and oppose me when you don't." He places his hand on Violets cheeks and stares into her eyes. "I've never met anyone like you. No, there is another."

"It's Loki, isn't it?" Violet as,s.

"Yes. . ." Balder runs his hand through Violets hair. "But I won't let even Loki have you." He trails his hand down to her shoulder and towards her chest, but Violet pushes against him.

"D-don't!" Violet chokes. She tries to pull away, but Balder brings her into his chest.

"You are special to me. . . Don't you feel the same way?" He asks.

"Balder. . . You said I was truthful with you. But I lied." Violet hangs her head in shame. He blinks at her. "I lied when I said I didn't want to be friends with you." Violet looks up at him, her right eye brimmed with tears.

"I can tell. . ." Balder brings her closer.

"Blader!" Loki yells. "Stop. . . Calm down, Balder!"

"Loki!" Violet shouts, trying to get to him. Balders hold grips onto her wrist, pulling it up. Violet panics.

"I won't let you have her. If I must give her up, I'd rather. . ." Then Balder begins to glow.

"Balder don't!" Loki panics.

"Blader. . ." Violet gasps. Suddenly Balder glows brighter and let's go off  Violet. She turns to face him, only to have Loki grab her and use himself as a shield. "What's happening?"

"Wake up Balder!" Loki shouts. Suddenly white lightning struck around Balder and cut through the ground and broke windows. "I'll handle this." Loki said calmly. Violet grabs his wrist.

"Loki, you'll get hurt!" She shouts. He ignores her and gets up anyway.

"Balder! Are you sure about this?" Loki asks, cautiously walking towards Balder. "This isn't what you want! Balder!" Lightning struck Loki's cheek and Violet yelps in fear. "Isn't she. . ." Loki starts walking again. "Isn't Violet special to you? Isn't she important!" Loki ignores all the slashes at his skin and carried on to his friend. "Stop. No more." Loki raised his hand, reaching out to Balder. "We promised. . . That we. . . " Loki hugs Balder, gripping g him tightly. "That we would always be together." The Lightning stops and Balder returns to normal.

"I. . ." Balder whispers. Loki runs his head, running his finger through Balders golden locks.

"Don't worry. Everything's fine now." Loki whispers. Then Balder falls to the floor.

"What happened?" Violet asks, running over to them.

"He's just tired. We should let him rest." Loki mutters. "I'll trust you, and explain the situation." Violet stiffens. "But in return, you must never tell Balder what happened here." Violet nods hesitantly.

"Everyone loves Balder, that's because they're all drawn to the God of lights power. In other words, they don't truly love him. It's fake love. Though Balder is surrounded by people, he was alone. . . That was until he met you, Violet. A human unaffected by the power of light, someone to fill his loneliness. . . When Balders emotion become unstable, they run out of control. So that's what that was." Loki explains sadly. "Balder rampages hurt not only those around him, but himself, as well. Hurting others saddens Balder deeply. That why I tried to separate you and Balder. That is my responsibility."

"I see." Violet nods.

"Until now, Balder has only had Thor and me. Well, I only had Balder and Thor, so we were in the same boat." Loki scratches his cheek.

"You've always watched over Balder. Even though he was surrounded by others, he was alone. And you've been watching over him. . . It must of been hard. Then I came along, the only human not affected by him, and didn't want to be his friend and toyed with his feelings. It must of been painful, for him and you both. If only I could help more. . ." Violet looks down sadly.

"I get it. . ." Loki points out. "You aren't only unaffected by the power of light. . . I think I understand why Balder is drawn to you." Loki smiles. "Balder has always been special to me, too. Balder is my saviour."

"Saviour?"

"The blood of the Jötnar, a race of Giants hated by gods, runs in my veins. No one cared about me. I lived in absolute solitude. I had no friends and no one to talk to. Hated by the gods who treated me like an enemy, I was ignored. When I thought that it might continue for eternity, my blood froze. My heart hardened, and I hated everything. That was when I met Balder. No matter how much I hurt him, he never left me. His straightforward heart, his love for both good and evil, changed me. My days were filled with despair, without any joy. . . And Balder gave me light. One day, a God who didn't like me tried to kill me. When he did. . ."

Balder woke up. "I heard your voice, Loki. We'll always be together."

"Yeah." Loki agrees. "I think I was dreaming."

"I see." Balder nods. "Where did you get those wounds?" Balder asks in panic. "Did I. . ."

"Just a prank that went wrong." Loki grins. "You know, the usual."

"Oh. . . The usual."

"Yeah."

"Where's Violet?" Balder asks. "I was looking for her at the Christmas market, and. . . What happened?"

"She went to get water." Loki answers. "She should be back soon." Balder sits up.

"Right. . . Loki, do you love Violet?" Balder asks again. This time, instead of denying it straight away, he blushes.

"Wh-what?"

"Tell me." Balder pleads.

"Of course not." Loki looks away.

"I see." Balder smiles. Then the door opens and Biolet walks in with a tray in hand.

"You really are close friends." Violet smiles, but it then vaulters as she approaches the two.  She places the tray on the bed side cabinet.

"Violet." Balder stares at her. Loki sits next to Balder on the bed, a grin on his face.

"I told you. . . Balder belongs to me." Loki hugs Balder. Violet then suddenly bows at the two, and they stare at her.

"Wh-what are you doing?" Balder asks.

"I'm so sorry, I know I've been horrible and didn't put your feeling into consideration when I said I didn't want to be friends but then I saw what happened and I felt so guilty and I just wanted to say sorry and will you forgive me?" Violet rushes out her words, her head still down.

"Of course Violet, you don't have to bow." Balder waves his hands at her.

"L-Loki. . . B-Balder." Violet whimpers.

"Why are you crying?!" Balder panics.

"Can I be your friend again?! Both of your friends?!" Violet blurts. They stare at her, both bewildered by her teary face and sudden question.

"Of course you can Violet! I want to be your friend too!" Balder panics.

"Really?!" Violet chokes.

"Yes Violet. Loki does too, don't you Loki?" Balder asks his friend. Loki stayed quiet for a moment.

"I don't really care." He leans back, crossing his arms behind his head. Violet looks at them happily, bursting with joy.

"Apollo has a special event prepared. We should go down there now. We don't want him pouting, do we?" Violet giggles.

"Of course." Balder nods.

"I'm in." Loki puts up his hand.

||| Time Skip |||

"See? Isn't it amazing?" Apollo asks, holding up a glow lantern. "Now, this is what you call explosive art!"

"What do you call these?" Takeru questions.

"They're, um. . . They're called watermelon gratin." Apollo smiles excitedly.

"This book says they're called sky lanterns." Hades reads. Then Lewis places his hand on Apollos head, ruffling his hair harshly.

"Or floating lantern you idiot!" Lewis sniggers at Apollo.

"Yeah, they're also call that!" Apollo grins.

"Why are these released into the air?" Dionysus asks.

"I'm not really sure. . . I know! Let's do this. We'll channel our gratitude into the flames, and send them to Santa." Apollo smiles. "Saying, 'Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!'" Apollo cheers.

"It says that Santa is someone who gives presents." Hades comments.

"Yeah, you could also say that!"

"I'm stuck here with idiots." Lewis grumbles, shaking his head in shame. "And I'm friends with them." Violet smiles to herself as she watches her classmates converse with each other.

Everyone stood in the canoes as Apollo stood before them all.

"The big event to bring our market to a close is starting! Is everyone ready? Is everyone ready?" Apollo asks. Violet sat on the boat with Balder, Thor and Loki. She smiles gently as she held the warm lantern in her palms. "Ready and. . ." Everyone lets go of their lanterns. Violet watches in awe as they lift off the ground, floating up in the air.

"Wow. . ." Violet breaths.

"Yes, it's very beautiful." Balder agrees. "Violet. . . I'm grateful for the miracle of our having met. But u rushed into things. . . I seem to have caused trouble for you too, Loki. I'm really sorry."

"You're such a handful Balder. . ." Loki sighs. "Put yourself in my shoes."

"I'm happy that we can graduate as friends. I never imagined I'd make so many." Violet smiles, staring up at the sky. The boys stare at her mismatched eyes, seeing the reflection of the lanterns in her eyes.

"I'm so fortunate." Balder stands up and takes hold of Violets hand. "I have two special people." Violet stares at him with wide eyes. Loki walks towards her too.

"Maybe I'll hold hands too. . ." Loki takes Violets other hand. Violets stares at both their hands, to bewildered on what to do. Balder catches her stares.

"Why not?" Balder asks.

"I'm not used to holding male hands. They feel different to girls." Violet scrunched up her face in confusion, squeezing both Loki's and Balder's hands. Balder chuckles at her and she pouts in return. Her face then softens.

"Thank you Balder." Violet whispers.

"What for?"

"For being my friend. I don't know what I'd do if I lost anymore." She gives him a closed eye smile.
