Christmas Light
"I'm going to pick up the stuff!" Violet waves to the boys with a smile.
"Sure." Takeru waves back.
"Thank you." Tsukito thanks.
"Hurry up then!" Lewis scowls. Violet widens her eyes and squeaks back a yes and quickly runs to the school shop.
"Violet!" Balder shouts, running over to her.
"What are you doing Balder?"
"What's up? Where are you going?" Balder asks.
"To pick up the decorations for my booth. It's coming around well and everyone's working together." Violet clasps her hands together, smiling happily.
"Can I go with you?"
"Oh, erm. . . Su-"
"Balder, what are you doing? Where are you going?" Loki shouts, prancing over. Thor slowly walks over and stops next to Violet. "Can we go with you?"

"Violet, you look pale." Melissa looks up at Violet in worry.
"I do?" Violet tilts her head. "Oh. . . I think I'm exhausted."
"What? What happened?" Melissa panics.
"I've been trying to get my booth done. . . And then I've been having problems with my friends." Violet explains, looking down worriedly.
"You're very open today, you must be ill." Melissa places his hand on her leg.
"I can beat through it. It was worse back home, so I can do this." Violet said, clenching her hand to her chest.
"Don't push yourself." Melissa adds.
"I'll be fine. I just need to make this an unforgettable Christmas for everyone." Violet said confidently.
"Have fun, but not too much."
"Okay, have a nice afternoon. Perhaps you could visit later." Violet waves as she walks out her dorm. She walks towards the classrooms in search for the student council office for some papers. She walks down the stairs, only for a voice to stop her.
"Wait Loki!" Balder shouts. Violet peeks out from around the corner to see Loki and Balder conversing by a window. Loki looked nonchalant as always, but Balder looked slightly irritated. "What do you think you're doing?"
"What? What's wrong, Balder?" Loki asks. "You're making a scary face."
"Don't be foolish. I'm trying to have a serious conversation."
"Serious?"
"Why are you so cruel to Violet?"
"What are you talking about? I don't understand. . . Oh, anyway. . ."
"Loki." Balder said sternly. "Look into my eyes."
"Wh-why are you being so serious? She's just a human girl. Who cares about-"
"Loki!" Balder shouts. "Don't disappoint me any further."
"Oh alright." Loki rolls his eyes. "Come to think of it, there's something I have to do. . ." Loki said as he started to walk away.
"Wait, Loki! I'm not finished-"
"I'll listen to you later."
"Loki!" Balder calls after his s red Ashfield friend. Violet steps out from around the wall, ready to go after Balder. She really needed to tell him something. Suddenly a hand grabs her shoulder, causing her to shriek as a hand quickly covers her mouth.
"It's me." A monotone voice states. Violet looks up to see green hair and gold eyes. Thor. He escorts her out the building and into the snow. "We have always been together. . . Balder, Loki's and I. The three of us enraged the other Gods with our recklessness. Because Loki was especially mischievous, he was ostracised and left alone. Even Balder, God of light, felt alone, despite being surrounded by people due to his power to attract others. But opposites attracts, and so the two were drawn to each other, and they became friends." Thor explains.
"So I'm in the way. . ." Violet mumbles.
"I was always there, watching them." Thor said. "There's nothing that can break their friendship, Loki wouldn't let it happen."
"Loki! Wait a minute!" Balder grabs his shoulder. "What bothers you so much?"
"Why do you care so much about that human?" Loki scowls, turning to face his best friend. "Why?!" Loki demand. Balder looks away, a blush covering his cheeks.
"She's special."
"Huh?" Loki widens his eyes in disbelief.
"When I met her, I knew right away. . ." Balder places his hand over his heart. "That she. . . That Violet was special to me! As I spent time with her, I experienced her sincerity, kindness, compassion, earnestness. She's so much more than anyone I've ever met. Being with her makes my heart dance." Balder's eyes soften as he grips his shirt. "It warms my heart. She's special, Loki. She is special." Loki looks down, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Special?" Loki chuckles humorously. "You're special to me! You, Thor and I. . . We could do anything together. We promised we'd always be together, no matter what happened!" Loki shouts.
"It was an important promise." Balder looks down, a shadow casting across his face.
"Then. . ." Loki looked hopeful, then his clicks his tongue in distaste.
Violet walks across the yard, following behind Thor as he continued to explain.
"Loki and Balder share a special bond that not even I can interfere with." Thor looks over his shoulder to her. Violet gives him a small nod.
"Violet!" Balder shouts, a giant smile on his face. "We said we'd have dinner together everyday. . ." He runs up to her. "I didn't see you, so I thought you'd already eaten alone."
"Balder. . ." Violet stares up at him, her eyes filled with regret.
"Well, let's go." He grabs her hand. "For dinner tonight, I recommend a juicy hamburger steak." Balder pulls her across the field and Violet looks up to the window just in time to see Loki glaring down at her, then he disappears. Violets eyes filled with fear.
"Balder!" Violet shouts, her voice breaking. Balder stops suddenly and looks back at her and steps near her, pulling her hand to his chest. "I have to tell you something. . ."
"Violet, you look like you're going to cry." Balder cups her cheek, but she moves her face away. His eyes widen. He'd never seen anyone move away from him.
"Balder, I don't want to be your friend anymore." Violet stares up at him, watching as fear flickers in his eyes.
"V-Violet, you must be ill. Are you okay?" Balder panics, pulling her closer to himself and tilting her head up. Her dark blue eyes, filled with white specks, was brimmed with tears as her sea blue one was plain, holding no emotion. She pulls away, her back to him.
"I don't want to be your friend anymore. Don't come near me, I have a festival to run." Violet walks away from him, not looking back as she walks past Thor.
"Violet. . . Violet! Where are you going?! What are you saying?!" Balder shouts, stepping towards her.
"Don't follow me!" Violet shouts, not turning to face him. She storms off, leaving a broken heart behind. She puts her hand into her pocket and pulls out a white eye patch and place it over her darker eye, covering her red puffy eye.

Violet walks past all the booths, a box of decorations in her hand. A faint smile was held on her lips, but it didn't feel right. She broke off her first friendship today, and it hurt her so much. She was lucky to even have one friend here, so braking off one would be something she'd never imagined.
"Hey! Hey, there! Kitty Cat!" A voice shouts. Violet looks over her shoulder to see Loki running towards her waving his hand around. Upon seeing him she walks faster, trying to get away from him. Stops her in her track, standing in front of her. She yelps, jumping back from him and avoids eye contact.
"Loki?" Violet asks quietly, trying to put a smile on her face.
"Looks difficult. Need some help?" He asks, but takes it from her hands before she can refuse.
"Ah, Loki!" Violet panics. 'He really does hate me! He's going to take me somewhere and beat me up like at school.' Violets lip starts to tremble as she watches him fearfully.
"Oh, come on!" Loki grins mischievously. Violet hesitantly follows after him. They walk in silence for a moment, drinking in the sound of the spirit pupils chattering and laughing. "Sorry I teased you the other day." Loki apologises. Violet stares at him back in shock. "I'm not good with humans." Loki explains.
"I see." Violet nods, looking at the ground as she walks behind him.
"Balder scolded me. He said I had no idea how hard it is for a mortal like you to live in this strange place." Violet chokes slightly.
"T-that's very kind of him." She replies softly. "It's nice to see him still looking out for me. Thank you Loki, for telling me this." 'It reminds me what a terrible friend I was too him.' "The Seaside School, Stargazing, Moon-Viewing, the snowball fight, and our regular classes too. I enjoy those ordinary time everyone spent with each other, strengthening our bonds. I hope-I hope we all graduate and keep these memories together. I hope we make memories of friendship that last a lifetime."
"Oh, really?" Loki asks. Violet looks up to him. His tone of voice was different, darker than normal. He suddenly drops the box of decorations and swiftly turns and grabs Violets arm. "In that case. . ."
"Loki, the box!" Violet panics as he pulls her between two booths, hiding them in the shadows. He holds her against the booths wooden wall and places his thumb on her lip.
"Let's make some special memories together." He grins.
"Special memories?" Violet repeats.
"Until we graduate. . ."
"Until we graduate. . ."
"Let's. . ."
"Let's. . ."
"Make lots of memories together." Loki tilts his head. Violet then looks up at him, wonder over her face.
"Lots of memories?" Loki leans back slightly in shock. "Loki, does that mean you'll try to graduate with us?" Violet asks happily.
"No, I. . ." Loki stares at her in shock.
"I'm so happy!" Violet shouts, grabbing both his hands in hers.
"Huh?"
"I've always wanted to be your friend! You're so cool but I thought you hated me! I thought you didn't like me because I was taking away Balder form you. . . I told him I didn't want to be his friend because you needed him more. He was your before mine, you deserve him not me. . . If I had know you would want to make memories with me today, I wouldn't have told him that I didn't want to be close to him. But I'm glad! I really am! I know Balder might not forgive me, I hope he will, but I'm glad you told me how you feel." Violet beams up at him.
"Violet. . . Your eyepatch is. . ." Loki lifts up his hand, hesitantly removing it from her eye. He stares into her sea blue eye to see it red and puffy, spelling tears down her cheek. He looks back to her dark blue one, to see it dry and empty. Violet touches her cheek in curiosity, then sends Loki a shaky smile.
"My left eye is fake, it doesn't shed tears. I'm just so happy, happy that I can finally be your friend. Your so amazing Loki, but I thought you didn't like me so I stayed away. I didn't want you to hate me any more than you already did. Thank you for telling me the truth Loki." Violet snuffles.
"Violet. . . I'm sorry. I didn't realise." Loki gives her a soft smile, rubbing away her tears. Violet sends him a closed eye smile, moving back slightly.
"I'm sorry but I have to go, I have a booth to run." Violet tells him with a smile, stepping away from him and waves. "I'll talk to you later after I've sorted everything out with Balder." Violet quickly runs off, leaving behind a confused Loki.
"She gave up her friendship. . . For me?" Loki holds himself up on the booth, her eye patch still clutched in his hand. "She cried because she was so happy, because she was so sad. Loosing and gaining a friend in one day and she kept up her smile. How? How did she do it?!" Loki slams his fist against the wall. "She gave up her happiness. . . For mine."
"Violet." A stern voice appeared behind her. Violet turns away from the crowd and looks to the voice, only to see Balder.
"Balder, I have to speak to you." Violet tells him.
"So do I." He grabs her hand, pulling her away from the crowd.
"It's about what I said earlier. I want-"
"I need to say something too." Balder walks faster towards the side of the school.
"The lighting ceremony, did you not want to see it?" Violet asks hesitantly. She realised his demeanour was different to usual. He seemed more stern and serious, it made Violet wary.
"How do you feel about me?" Balder asks suddenly.
"That's what I wanted to talk about, I want to be your friend again. I know it's selfish off me and I don't deserve you, but I want to go back to how we were before." Violet pleads, her eyes staring up at him with hope. Balder stares at her and slowly lifts up his hand, placing it on her shoulder. "Balder?" His grip suddenly tightens. "Balder you're hurting me." Violet panics, trying to pull away.
"You hurt me earlier. You hurt me when you said you didn't want to be my friend. When you didn't want to see me. . . Why did you change your mind? Is it because of him? Because of Loki?" Balder asks, his eyes darkening. "Is it because you love Loki?"
"Wh-what?! L-Love?!" Violet panics. "What are you talking about? Loki made me want to be your friend again, he didn't do anything wrong. Why do you look so mad? I'm sorry about earlier, I didn't mean it. I'm sorry if I hurt you." Violet panics as Balder stared down at her with dull eyes.
"I see. . . I understand." Balder said. "I know what to do." Balder looks up at her, staring into her eyes. "I'll make it so you can see only me." He steps forwards, and Violet shuffles back in return. 'Why? Why is he looking like that?'
"Stop Balder!" Loki shouts, running towards him. Balder holds Violets cheek and brings her face closer to his as he leans forward slowly. His breath fanned over her face and Violet began to shake. The look in his eyes was scaring her and she hadn't felt like this since before. Since before this school and in her house. The house when every living moment she had to do as she was told or live with the consequences.
"Balder. . ." Violet quivers. His face gets closer to her and she closes her eyes tight, hoping if she couldn't see it, it wasn't real. Lights flashed from the festival and Violet felt warmth radiating on her lip, but it was gone moments later. Violet hesitantly opens her eyes to see Loki standing before her, his hands holding Balder away. Balder steps back, his face looking indifferent but anger swelled in his eyes.
"Loki. . ." Balder mutters. Violet steps back, wrapping her hands around her body.
"Why?" Loki asks. "Why Balder? Look at me alone!" He shouts. "You. . . You belong to me!"
