Your POV~

I race through the thick snow that crunches under my feet as the white powder flies into the air.
"Get back here you whore!" He cries. He is not far behind me.

I pick up speed and dodge pine tree after pine tree, little droplets of my blood leave a small trail through the snowy forest. Sudden sharp pain shoots through my legs and they give way. I dive knees-first into the snow. "No!" My eyes widen as his footsteps draw near. He will get me again. He will not hesitate to hurt me this time.

I feel his foot strike down upon my back before I see it. It hits me again and again until blood trickles from the corner of my mouth. I cough it up and stain the white snow, like red paint on a blank, unused canvas.

"Gah!" I sputter and roll onto my back. "Please, stop!"

"Don't you disrespect the Master!" His heel strikes my leg, numb with pain, "you disgusting freak!"

"HEY!!!" A voice streaks. But this voice does not belong to the master. I looked up with bleary eyes to see a skeleton a good few inches taller than I, with blue and black armor and a tattered blue bandana. His eyes are a sharp blue like his armor, full of challenge and authority.

"What the hell are you?" Master glowers. The skeleton comes closer, and I see a long, glowing blue bone with a sharpened end hidden behind his back.

With a final step, he jabs Master with it so quick he couldn't even draw a breath. The skeleton leans in and whispers, "your worst nightmare."

I watch as as the man who murdered everyone I love, the man who has abused me since I was merely a toddler, fall to the snowy earth. Lifeless, cold as the ground beneath him, blood pooling in the frozen rain. It was like a brutal snow cone, tasting of iron with thick syrup, blood.

"My apologies, madam," says the skeleton once he turns around, "I believe in justice, and what just happened to you was far from it."

"I-" I look down at my legs, bruised and numb, "thank you, stranger."

"Call me Sans," he nods and crouches down beside me, "can you walk?"

"I-I believe so." I latch onto the tree and shakily get to my feet.

"Here," he ducks under my arms and places his other hand on my hip, "let me help."

My cheeks feel hot as his fingers drum lightly at my side,  the other one creeping up to gently grasp my fingertips. The guessers were oh so flattering, but awkward all the same. It feels as though we've met before, like I've known him in a past life. . .
