The Memories Sixty Seven - Be Still, Devil's Heart

"Give me the pliers, Jungkook." I managed to alter the wirings as fast as I can. The fuse box outside was being altered by Jimin and Jin, while Namjoon and Hoseok situated themselves on a nearby tree, alerting us each time Mr. Hurst's men came into the vicinity. Just a few more tweaks on the wirings, and this will cause the system to overload and ignite the sheathing. Hopefully my calculations are correct, and at the exact time that I predicted, this whole place will turn into the biggest bonfire party we've ever attended.

Jungkook dropped the tool on my palm, careful not to touch me even though our hands were both properly gloved. He carefully attached some flammable materials near the exposed cables for faster combustion. "Are we sure this will cause a fire? And why can't we just set the place on fire?"

Judging by the wooden panels and the walls of the entire warehouse, one tiny spark will be enough to ignite perfectly.

"To make it appear like an accident, my young and doubtful apprentice. I'm a hundred percent sure about this. Trust me."

Studying electrical wirings for houses was one of the few things in life that I love. Part of it, of course, is the basic knowledge on proper and faulty wiring installations.

"All we have to do is wait. Call the others, tell them we're done here and we can leave," I ordered, which Jungkook obediently did. We set the others scattered around, to warn us just in case Mr. Hurst's men comes inside the building.

After finishing the job, we stuffed the tools back in the bag, but before we could get out of this tiny room on the ceiling, the door busted open. An older male, judging by his gray hair, strode across what seemed to be a main office, followed by a younger one with darker hair, somewhat looking familiar, but we can't see their faces clearly.

"You're getting out of hand recently. Your control over your men-"

The younger male interrupted the older, "He had it coming. He nearly touched what's mine."

"I think I need to send you back to Spain, make yourself useful. You're making a mess, Theo! This isn't how we're supposed to work. What is wrong with you?" the gray haired man bellowed.

"I just- I finally found her, I just need to see her again."

"And what, go crazy and kill more of your men? What happened to Trace, Theo? "

"As if you hadn't been in this situation, brother. Who's so obsessed with a single female, even raise a daughter that's not your blood? Shall I come see your wife, perhaps, tell her what really happened to her precious daughter..."

The older man reached for Theo, grabbed him by the collar and spat at his face. "You dare come after Lily, I'll kill you myself."

"Then let me do as I want. Or should I turn myself over to the FBI. Maybe tell them a little bit about our little dysfunctional family, Hurst Mobius Hunter. Or worse, let your pretty wife know exactly how I took little miss Emily Hunter, and that baby in her tummy... How she begged for me to spare her, have mercy on her pretty little baby inside of her..."

Mr. Hurst, or Mr. Hunter for that matter, released his brother as he slowly took a step backwards, his backside hitting the desk.

"I'd love to see you try, Theo. And it'd be a pleasure to finally disown you and throw you away."

Theo smirked, "You need me, Brother."

"As of the moment, you're becoming a liability. You're destroying everything Dad built, his name, his power, everything."

Theo let out a sinister laugh. "Let me remind you who fixed everything for you when your Lily began to crawl back to her pathetic ex-lover. Who cleaned up after the mess you made, when you decided to run over that poor lady, who fuckin' happens to be the mother of my beloved Mia? Who took the blame when our father was outraged after so many mistakes you did just for Lily, for almost blowing each cover and messing up transactions? Who has got your back all these years? Tell me... I suffered for you, Brother. I'm sorry though, for doing it to Emily. But I was only protecting our secret, after you carelessly let youself be found by her as the biggest drug lord in this part of the world. She will tell her mother, and Lily will hate you. So thank me. I got rid of problems, like I always do."

My stomach made its uncomfortable churn as bile rose to my throat, making my eyes water from the burn. I couldn't believe what I heard. I couldn't process. All I desired to do was get down and strangle both of them, if only Jungkook hadn't tugged be back to reality and made me think sensibly.

"Yoongi, it's not worth it. We don't want to put our brothers in danger, do we? Let's just get out of here..." He grabbed me, urging me to crawl out and let the two men carry on with their conversation.

I only huffed in annoyance, yanked my arm away from his hold as we wiggled our way out of the tiny space as swiftly and quietly as possible.

"Yoongi-"

I put a hand up to halt him. I didn't have much energy to deal with it. It was too much, and it needed to be set aside for a while.

"Let's just wait for Matt's text before we go. And I'm fine. Thank you, Jungkook, for stopping me back there."

"Glad I could help," he answered.

We crouched in the bushes near the forested part, watching closely as men in business suits, escorted by some police offficers began to arrive for the biggest transaction to be held for tonight. The warehouse near the port is now packed with smugglers, drug dealers, even some prominent politicians were there. Matt stood at the entrance with his walkie talkie, making sure the guests were greeted and ushered properly. Once he caught sight of us in the bushes, he gave a curt nod and carried on with his task.

"We just wait. Any time soon..." Jungkook and I were the last ones left, waiting for the magic to happen, to put an end to all of this.

"Okay, Yoongi."

3rd Person POV

Everything. Each and every single thing inside the warehouse turned to ash in an instant, even the suitcases containing bundles of money were not saved.

The fire started at their main office, and spread rapidly, devouring everything in its path.

All that they've built, worked hard for, bled for, cried for... All gone.

But all of it meant nothing to him. Because as far as he could recall, he was trained to follow his father's orders, to kill without trace, without evidences. He was never allowed to feel, to cry, to think for himself. Because he could recall, they never showed him compassion, they never treated him right.

He wanted to feel safe as a child, but they only beat him up to make him strong. Night and day, he was trained, bred to kill. He never felt safe. Maybe that's the reason for his success, because even in his sleep he was always on guard.

"You're born to be strong." as his father always tells him when his tears were threatening to fall, and if a single tear does escape his tired eyes, he was beaten mercilessly until he bled, until he was out of breath.

Theo Hunter then lived like a puppet. No heart. No feelings. Only breathing air to obey.

Until he met her, the only one who made him realize love was possible, love was real.

Mia. The one he's crazy about.

Like a devil bathing in a sea of flames, Theo Hunter stood in the middle of the burning stash, his eyes flickered with rage as he studied the boy with sharp cat eyes who bravely stared back, for the boy with sharp cat eyes caused all of this. He stood there, tall and proud as he watched the fire destroy everything in its path, devour everything Theo had, everything Theo worked hard for.

But Theo was not really loathsome. Theo was in fact grateful, because Min Yoongi freed him from the clutches of this cruel world he grew up in, from his elders' strings that controlled him. But now that everything dissipated, with his brother no longer in the way, Theo can finally do what he needed to do.

Finally, he can do things for himself.

"Min Yoongi," Theo muttered the name with much distaste as he watched him being dragged away by his companion and disappear into the woods. He made a mental note to thank the boy, and contemplated if he should be spared or be with his "fallen" commrades.

"Min Yoongi, I admire your bravery. I think I like you already, but I hope you won't be too stupid to get in the way... You marked yourself as my greatest ally and my worst enemy."

He let the flames kiss his skin, until he realized something.

"Oh, I need to get out. I have to look presentable when I come see my Mia. Be still, my heart," he rubbed his chest where his heart hammered like crazy, "We'll come get her, soon."
